"Anchorman" Gilbert Corsey is in the ring (while Dean Hill and Michael Titus are at the announce table) and he is happy to welcome OUR OVW Ladies Champion Hannah Blossom to the ring! She made history last week by winning an epic 4-way ladder match to claim the title. Hannah tells us that she had been dreaming about this and that it was her time to shine and prove herself to the world. Gilbert asks the tough question in that Hannah had to sacrifice her own twin sister Holly to win, in that she pushed Holly off the ladder. Hannah hesitates then says she hasn't heard from Holly the past few days but hopes to talk to her soon. Out comes Holly as Dean confirms that the twins haven't spoken since the match. Holly says it hurt that Hannah did what she did but she understands, so she is happy for Hannah and they hug. Here comes Lei'd Tapa to reiterate that this is her ring, her island! She adds that Hannah has something that she wants and can easily take-her title! Holly steps in front of Hannah and tells Tapa if she wants Hannah she'll have go through her first! Tapa says it's on! Dean notes that the main event tonight is altered for this purpose.
OUR OVW Ring Announcer Shannon the (lucky) Dude is in the back for another segment of the "Miss OVW" contest. Tonight we have a hula hoop contest with three entrants: Ray Lynn, Jessie Belle, and Lovely Lylah. Tapa says she don't hula hoop! The winner here is the one who hula hoops the longest. The ladies begin and we go back to the ring.
Match #1: "Diamond Steel" Ryan Howe vs James "Mad Moose" Thomas (w/Timmy "Rampage" Danger)
Howe plays a song that I recognize but don't recall the name. Josh Ashcraft is OUR OVW Official for this match. Notable that Moose has new tights and they match Danger's outfit. Danger does his own intro for Moose calling him the next OVW champion, 350 pounds of mass destruction, and a one-man rampage! He adds that Moose will make "skid marks" out of Howe! (Ha ha) Howe pops Moose in the jaw a couple of times then flips over Moose and lands on his feet and uppercuts Moose but then eats a lariat. Moose chokes Howe in the ropes then hammers on him in the corner before giving him a Moose Splash followed by a Moose Kick for the pin. Danger calls for a "sore winner attack" and Moose obliges until OUR OVW Champion Jamin Olivencia runs out to chase Moose back to Frostbite Falls, Minnesota.
Match #2: Raul Lamotta (w/fellow Marauders Shiloh Jonze, Flash Flanagan, & Nick Dumeyer) vs OUR OVW TV Champion Elijah "Pope" Burke
OUR OVW Senior Official Chris Sharpe is in charge here as Flash has the red kendo stick tonight. Burke yanks Lamotta out to the floor by his feet then enters the ring as the other Marauders check on Lamotta. Burke headlocks Lamotta, who has a mohawk poking above his bandanna. Burke short arm clotheslines Lamotta and tosses him around as Gilbert praises Burke's innovative offense. Burke chops and tenpunches Lamotta but Jonze swats at him, allowing Lamotta to attack from behind. Lamotta whips Burke into the corner then stomps and chokes followed by Flash sneaking over to help out. Lamotta bangs Burke's head into the turnbuckles then hits the Eyepoke of Doom! Burke comes alive and fires up on Lamotta before pulling down his kneepads and coming off the top with a kneedrop. Burke is ready to charge at Lamotta but Jonze reaches through the ropes and grabs Burke by the ankles. Lamotta charges but Burke shakes loose and Lamotta crashes into the corner. Burke hits the "Elijah Express" (running double knees) on Lamotta for the pin. Flash runs in with the kendo stick but Burke quickly escapes the ring.
Back to the hula hooping! "Team Boomstick" Jay Bradley checks out the ladies, calling Lovely Lylah "a hot mess". "Strongest Gamer Ever" Marcus Anthony grabs Bradley and shoves him into a locker, telling him that Danny Davis has placed them in a match at the next Saturday Night Special on 10/5! Anthony calls Bradley a snake and a coward but also says he can't touch Bradley until SNS. Jessie Belle keeps hooping while she points and giggles at Bradley.
Match #3: J Best (w/fellow VIP Clubbers Joe Rosa & "Mexicutioner" Roberto DeLuna) vs Marcus Anthony
Rosa enters the ring to wrestler but was unaware that his opponent would be Anthony, so he delegates and sends Best into the ring instead. Anthony manhandles Best for a bit then gives him a belly to belly suplex. Anthony holds Best up and throws him in the corner where he lands upside down. Anthony grabs Best by his head and drags him to center ring to drop a knee to the head. Anthony does a standing backflip and lands on his feet just because he can before finishing off Best with the Gamma Punch for the pin.
Bradley runs out but Anthony blocks him down. Bradley rolls out and grabs Anthony by the leg and hits it on the apron then hits is on the ringpost. Bradley takes the mic and says they do have a match at SNS but he's not sure if Anthony will be walking!
Mobile Homers (Ted McNaler & Adam Revolver) and Brittany Devore are in the back furiously scratching off lottery tickets. Brittany won $5! She says she has won 6 out of the last 7! (I won $4 on Powerball last weekend, must be catching)
"The Justin Bieber of Professional Wrestling" Dylan Bostic snaps a phone picture of the hula-hooping Jessie Belle, which startles her and makes her drop her hoop, so OUR OVW Official Jordan Barker rules her out of the contest (boo!). Evan Markopolis peeks through the door with his own camera phone but is bumped aside by Hannah Blossom, who goes over to talk to Holly about tonight's match with Tapa. Hannah tells Holly not to face Tapa. Holly responds that just because Hannah is the champion doesn't mean that they are not in this together, and doesn't mean that they are not tag team partners, and doesn't mean that they are not sisters, so she is doing this!
Match #4: "Best Rudy Ever" Rudy Switchblade (w/"Mr. Pec-tacular" (tm) Jessie Godderz) vs Mohamed Ali Vaez (w/Michael "not PS" Hayes)
Hayes & Vaez are OUR OVW Tag Team Champions. This is called a "Captains Match", as the two teams will meet at SNS for the tag titles. Rudy apologizes for the stuff that got said about the champs a few weeks ago but adds that even though they are practically family, the champs have what he and Godderz want-the titles. Vaez says at SNS he and Hayes are coming to win and cement their legacy as the best team in the company. Godderz says the champs aren't winning anything at SNS since Best Team Ever is back. He also points out that BTE wasn't together when they won the belts. Godderz and Hayes start shoving each other but work their way out so the other two can start the match. Vaez gives Rudy a belly to back suplex and dropkicks him out. Rudy comes back in with a quick Oklahoma roll for 2 then tries to turn Vaez over in a Boston crab but he makes the ropes. Dean brings up the history between Rudy and Vaez, as they have met in the ring quite frequently before their partners were around. Vaez confers with Hayes on the outside as we go to break.
Back from break, the two trade pinning predicaments before Vaez locks Rudy into his version of a camel clutch and holds him there for a bit. Titus notes that Rudy is really getting stretched and says he's not Gumby (although BTE's tights are the same color as Gumby's pony pal Pokey!) then adds that Dean was put in this same hold when he got his mustache shaved off! Rudy eventually works free then sets Vaez on the corner to try a superplex but gets pushed off and lands face first on the mat. Vaez comes off the top but Rudy meets him with a dropkick then retries the crab. Vaez kicks out of that then they fend off each other's moves until Vaez slides out and yanks Rudy's legs from under him. Godderz gets all up in Vaez' grill which allows Rudy to baseball slide kick Vaez into the ring boards. The four pair off and scuffle outside the ring then make their way in. Rudy rolls up Vaez but ref Sharpe is breaking up Godderz and Hayes. Vaez rolls up Rudy but Godderz sneaks over and gives him an enziguri! Rudy rolls Vaez up for the pin!
The hula-hooping is still going on when The Body Guy and Mr. Marvelous Melvin Maximus are praising Ray Lynn's hula-hooping prowess. We see a hoop being thrown around Body Guy's neck and he gets yanked to the floor. We then see The Assassin holding the hoop. All of this startles Lovely Lylah and she drops her hoop, so Ray Lynn is declared the winner! Ray Lynn is all happy and calls her "friend" Tapa over. Tapa piefaces her into the wall and says she's not Ray Lynn's friend!
Shannon the Dude is with Olivencia, who says if Danger and Moose ("DangerMoose"?) want to put a bullseye on his back and try to intimidate him, he's giving it right back to them! Olivencia challenges Moose to a match at SNS!
Hannah Blossom comes out to join Dean and Gilbert at the announce table, meaning Titus has to give up his seat.
Match #5: Holly Blossom vs Lei'd Tapa
Hannah says Tapa is the most vicious opponent they face ever faced and is concerned for Holly's safety. Holly opens up with a flurry of forearms on Tapa until she gets shoved into the corner. Tapa misses a splash and Holly does a tenpunch in two parts because Tapa shoves her off after the first five. Tapa sets Holly up top and hammers her but Holly chops away until Tapa hits her in the face. Tapa shoulder tackles Holly and stares at Hannah. Holly comes off the ropes but runs right into a thrust kick. Tapa covers but pulls Holly up at 2 and bangs her head into the mat. Holly fights back but Tapa picks her up in a firemans carry and stunners her for the pin.
Hannah tells Tapa if she wants it to come and get it as the show goes off.
THOUGHTS: Bet we'll see Godderz vs Hayes next week in a "non-captains match". They don't have standings in the "Miss OVW" contest so I wouldn't know how Ray Lynn's victory in the hula-hooping contest impacts things. I have a feeling that she might inadvertently get in Tapa's way at some point much like Dumeyer has done with the Marauders. It should be Joe Coleman's turn to face Burke next week, that numbers advantage of the Marauders sure doesn't translate into victories! What would the Mobile Homers do if they scratched off a big jackpot, buy OVW? I am amused at Markopolis' mirroring of Bostic. I was OK with this show, so I'll give it a upper thumbs in the middle.
