From Larry Goodman:

What do you get when you have the best match of year and the start of what could be the killer angle of the year on the same night? Answer: the best show so far in 2015 from a Georgia wrestling company.

Anarchy Wrestling is officially in an uproar in the aftermath of Hardcore Hell 2015. Stephen Platinum was revealed as the leader of a traitorous faction that includes many of his comrades from PCW. As incomprehensible as it seems, Jeff G. Bailey now appears to be one of the top babyfaces in the company. Some fans are confused. Some are legitimately pissed off. Anarchy has some explaining to do. Fans that missed Platinum’s introduction at Season’s Beatings and Bailey’s response surely must have wondering what the hell was going on. A small percentage of Anarchy fans also attend the Old School Wrestling Alliance events in Cornelia. Platinum has been very outspoken in his criticism of OSWA and his presence at Anarchy has them threatening to boycott.

The uncertainty about the future of the company that shackled the creative team of Bill Behrens and Todd Sexton for much of 2014 was removed when Charles Anschutz purchased Anarchy from Franklin Dove last December. It’s been full speed ahead since then, and the pieces all came together in the cataclysmic conclusion to Hardcore Hell.

Slim J and Fred Yehi tore the house down again. This is a match up made in heaven. Slim won their best of five series at the March 14 event with an unsatisfying count out victory in the fifth and deciding match. Slim challenged Yehi to settle it with a 2 out 3 falls match at Hardcore Hell, and they outdid themselves with a dazzling display of technical wrestling.

Attendance at the Anarchy Arena was disappointingly light for the first super show since Anschutz took ownership - 130 with a number of no shows for reserved ringside seats. The show lacked a gimmick match promising the blood and extreme violence that has been a staple of big shows in Cornelia over the last 16 years. It isn’t called Hardcore Hell for nothing. Falling on the same weekend as Wrestlemania this year may have been a disadvantage. One can only speculate.

Former Anarchy owner Jerry Palmer opened preaching the gospel of the Church of Southern Wrestling. Palmer thanked Anschutz for keeping the doors open. Crowd was a bit subdued compared to the norm for a Palmer speech.

(1) Trevor Aeon defeated Jeremy Foster to win the Anarchy Young Lion’s Championship in 8:27. Foster came out with his left shoulder taped from the injury suffered against Supernatural two weeks ago. Aeon went right after the vulnerable body and stayed on it the entire match. Aeon had Foster’s flying double knees scouted. Foster tried for a dragon suplex but released it mid-move due the shoulder. After Foster incurred further damage to the shoulder, Aeon planted him with a DDT to win his first Anarchy gold. I liked this as an opener - sound, logical work and nothing too fancy.

(2) Lars Manderson won the Ironman Turmoil Match in 47:18 and has one win towards the three needed to become Anarchy’s first Ironman. As CB Suave (with Nina Monet) was waiting for his opponent, second referee DA Brewer stripped off his ref shirt and jumped in the ring to roll up Suave for a huge pop. Suave and Monet stayed at ringside as partner P Dog squared off with Brewer. P Dog capitalized on Suave’s interference to pin Brewer with the Alabama Jam. Brewer’s partner, Shadow Jackson then took on P Dog. With the crowd behind him huge, Jackson overcame Suave’s interference to pin P Dog with a stunner. Suave and P Dog laid Jackson out after the match. Jon Williams was next. He thanked Suave and company. Jon immediately covered but was way too casual about it and Jackson managed to roll a shoulder. Too much damage had been done though, and Jackson soon succumbed to the backcracker. It just so happened that Trey Williams was the next competitor. The brothers faked like they were going to walk out together, then ran back to beat the 10 count. The crowd chanted for them to fight. They did and went to a 10 minute draw so both were eliminated. Bobby Moore pinned Shaun Tempers with the Death Valley Driver. Good action but the crowd was getting restless and the momentum was gone. Se7en (with Jeff G. Bailey) gave Moore a beating. Moore was in agony and his offense was having little effect. A discus forearm finally put Se7en on the deck. Moore went back to the discus forearm and a choke slam from Bailey’s behemoth ended his night. Monsters collided as Mikael Judas took on Se7en. At first, nobody was selling anything. Se7en took command. Se7en attempted a bicycle kick and Judas countered with a single leg crab. Se7en tried to hang on, but when Judas sat down and cinched it in, Se7en tapped. Se7en appeared to suffer a legit knee injury and had to be helped to the back. Jacob Ashworth hit the ring with the proper sense of urgency and was hitting Judas with everything he had. Ashworth narrowly escaped from El Crucifijo before getting choke slammed into oblivion. Manderson (with Miss Rachael and BJ Hanock) was the last man to enter. Manderson was fresh. A third consecutive win would make Judas the Ironman, but he was fading fast. When Manderson missed a Stinger splash, Judas made his comeback. Judas goozled Manderson for the chokeslam. Manderson fought if off. Manderson clotheslined Judas and was feeling it again, but Judas caught him in the singe leg crab. Manderson made the ropes. Judas was looking for El Crucifijo. Hancock jumped up on the apron to distract and ate a shot from Judas. Manderson wound up on the apron as well and got suplexed back into the ring, but Rachael and Hancock grabbed Judas' ankles and held on for dear life while Manderson landed on top for the pin.

The Ironman Turmoil was an interesting concept but it didn’t working out that way.Good start out of the gate to continue the Suave & P Dog vs. Brewer & Jackson story and a compelling conclusion between Manderson and Judas. Manderson has come a long way, and Anarchy showed patience in waiting for the right time to pull the trigger on elevating him. 47 minutes and when all was said and done, still no Ironman. The middle portion dragged badly. I can see where forcing the brothers to wrestle each other looked like a good idea on paper, and I love the Bullets, but this was about the least entertaining thing I’ve ever seen them involved in. There was a point where I feared the show might not recover from the loss of momentum.

(3) Fred Yehi defeated Slim J 2 out 3 falls in 21:12. Total respect handshake to start. A mat scramble sent Yehi to the ropes. Yehi leapfrogged Slim and wheeled around to hit a dropkick. Very cool. Slim shook off Yehi’s waistlock to spill him out. Yehi slid back in and got nailed with a missile dropkick but kicked out at one. Slim back on the mat working towards a submission and didn’t get it. We had the first wicked striking exchange of the match. Slim with a butterfly suplex for a two count. Yehi with a gutwrench suplex for two. Slim with a full Boston Crab. Yehi to the ropes. Slim locked in a stump puller and sat back to get a near fall. Some idiot called for tables. Slim tried for Screwdriver on the Rocks and didn’t get it. Yehi chopped Slim so hard that it literally doubled him over. Yehi reversed the Slim’s inverted STF into the Koji Clutch. J escaped. Yehi attempted a german suplex. Slim managed to land on his feet, but Yehi pounced with an overhead suplex right into a fisherman suplex to win the first fall in 12:45. Yehi opened the second fall with an Indian deathlock. Dueling chants. Yehi fired off another round of vicious chops. Slim blocked a chop and turned it into a lightning-quick cross armbreaker. Yehi tapped at 15:35. Slim immediately went back to the crossarmbreaker. Yehi blocked it. Yehi hit an exploder suplex. Another round of hellacious chops from Yehi. Holy shit, Slim’s chest is a mass of red welts. J weathered the barrage and forearmed Yehi to death. Yehi gave Slim a taste of his own with a shadow Screwdriver on the Rocks for a close near fall that was a stroke of brilliance. Referee Wallace signaled Slim’s shoulder was an inch away from a three count. Yet another withering exchange of strikes. Slim hit the flying reverse DDT. Yehi rolled to the outside and Slim followed up with a beautiful turnbuckle moonsault to the floor. Both back in at the count of 7. Back and forth with pin attempts. Yehi was going for a powerbomb. Slim tried to counter with a headscissors. Yehi rolled through and got the three count. An amazing match. All three falls had absolutely great finishes.

Postmatch – a richly deserved standing ovation for both competitors.

(4) Big F’N Deal (Geter & Brian Blaze) defeated Devil’s Rejects (Azrael & Stryknyn) to regain the Anarchy Tag Team Championship in 6:22. Early on, Azrael and Stryk broke out the Hate Junkies’ boot party on Blaze. Big F’N Deal isolated Azrael until Stryk took the hot tag. As Stryk was running wild, Supernatural came to ringside and drew the attention of referee Dee Byers. Stryknyn had Blaze beaten with a spear when Azrael inexplicably decked him with a Superman punch. Big F’N Deal used their combo finisher to pin Stryknyn. Well done. Short and to the point.

Azrael departed with Supernatural bringing Silent Kill Syndicate to Anarchy.

(5) Kevin Blue defeated Corey Hollis to win the Anarchy TV Title in 14:21. No love lost between these two babyfaces. Blue was hell bent on winning the title and Hollis wasn’t about to let it go. Blue’s frustrations boiled over. A punch to the face sent Hollis out and Blue started to brawl. Hollis responded slowing with strikes from all angle, slowing Blue’s roll bigtime. The crowd clapped for a Blue rally and got it. Blue used a uranage backbreaker. Holy Tank! When Hollis kicked out of the Gamebreaker, Blue pounded Hollis with his fists and was severely chastised by referee Ken Wallace. Hollis tried for the standing sliced bread. Blue reversed to the Air Raid Crash but Hollis reversed into the stretch plum, forcing Blue to go for the ropes. Nice sequence there. With both men on the canvas, here comes Rachael to ringside greeted by a “Bailey” chant. Only 2 minutes left in 15 minute time limit, and they’re trading fast and furious. Hollis caught Blue’s Yakuza kick and turned it into a capture suplex. Rachael grabbed Hollis by the leg to create a distraction. Blue nailed Hollis with the Yakuza and pinned him with the Air Raid Crash.

Better than their match on the Valentine’s Day show. Nobody was going to be able to top Slim and Yehi for straight up wrestling. They told a different story and took a distinctly different route. Blue did a great job of foreshadowing the turn with a slow build of frustration over the last month that finally got the best of him.

Postmatch, Blue made it clear he was more than happy to have Rachael’s help and is now aligned with the most hated woman in Anarchy history.

(6) Jagged Edge (with Jeff G. Bailey) defeated Champion Billy Buck and BJ Hancock (with Miss Rachael) to win the Anarchy Heavyweight Championship in 13:21. The crowd popped for Bailey! Buck teed off on both heels, and was the only man standing in the ring as Hancock and Jagged licked their wounds on the outside. Nice visual for the champion. Buck did a flip dive on both of them and came up short. The crowd was momentarily hushed. Buck came up firing. The pattern was set with Jagged and Hancock taking each other out and going after Buck. An electric chair/superplex tower of doom ensued with Hancock taking the big bump. Hancock and Jagged stole pins from each other. Buck got Hancock in the figure four and cradled Jagged when he tried to break it up. Buck bulldogged Hancock and simultaneously clotheslined Jagged. They pulled off a chain reaction deal where Buck gave Hancock a neckbreaker causing him to DDT Jagged. Buck superkicked Jagged. Hancock broke up the pin and gave Buck the piledriver, but Bailey pulled referee Dee Byers out of the ring for a massive pop and a “Bailey” chant. Jagged and Hancock collided leaving all three men down. Rachael and Bailey got in the ring. Rachael went after Bailey with her high heel. Bailey tossed a fistful of powder in her face. Hancock tried to piledrive Bailey and got superkicked by Buck. Bailey clocked Buck with Rachael’s shoe and Jagged pinned Buck after a piledriver.

I expected a good match but this was great. I’m generally not a big fan of three-way matches because they often feel contrived. This one was smooth and realistic. The three way spots worked beautifully as vehicles to keep Buck strong in a losing effort.

A masked guy in the crowd (thought to be Monstrosity announcer El Phantasmas) threw water in Bailey’s face. Jagged hauled the guy over the rail and into the ring. Bailey removed the mask revealing Platinum! Hancock gave Bailey a piledriver that left him lying motionless. Confusion reigned as the crowd was reduced to a stunned silence.

Platinum donned the green jacket. His army of Anarchy turncoats/PCW allies entered the ring joining Hancock, Rachael and Jagged – Aeon, Blue, Big F’N Deal, Washington Bullets, Silent Kill Syndicate and Manderson are all in on the treachery. Platinum collected all the belts and distributed them to HIS champions.

Bill Behrens came to ringside but was powerless to do anything. One particular lady at in the first row was out of her mind with rage. Bailey was carried out on backboard to end the show.
