From Rob Brodhecker:
The 1 Fall show tonight is scheduled for 8 matches. The set up reminds me of the set up I visited in Knoxville where the ring is in a performance/inside football practice field. I'm familiar with some of the wrestlers from other shows and promotions but more than a few will be new to me. A couple of people in the crowd I've seen from other promotions as well, including some podcasters, a referee, a photographer, and some family members. Attendance is around 60
The ring announcer is Shalandra Royal and she sang the Star-Spangled Banner acapella and knocked it out of the park.
First qualifying match for the 1Fall title: Lamar Diggs v Cousin Shaggy
Shaggy weighs in at 1 goat and 4 chickens. Diggs outweighs him by a cow. Diggs manhandling Shaggy in the early going but Shaggy's quickness comes out. Diggs back to the power game. A staggering verticle suplex by Diggs. A Full Nelson on Shaggy. Shaggy gets a knee up but Diggs counters with a running Soman drop. Diggs brings Shaggy up for a powerbomb but Shaggy counters with a DDT, both men down. Shaggy on the comeback but Diggs hits a running power slam for a 2 count. Diggs rushes at Shaggy in the corner, Shaggy dodges and rolls Diggs up for the 3 count. Time: 6:27. A good opening contest with the fan favorite winning.
A quick promo by QT Marshall. Talks about a Mr. Nastyman LeRoy wanting to be a part of the tourney and was denied. Nastyman comes out and the crowd cheers. QT starts to offer up his spot but swerves everyone and attacks Nastyman to a chorus of boos and jeers. QT yells at me to jot that down.
Second qualifying match: Matt "Sex" Sells v Jaxson Cassel
Matt commits sexual harassment on the ring announcer by trying to hide behind her during Cassel's entrance. Sells bails early, not wanting to test the strength of Cassel. The power moves of Cassel give him the advantage until Sells trips him into the middle turnbuckle. Castle storms back and holds up Sells for almost 15 seconds in a delayed verticle suplex. Sells makes the ropes and gains the upper hand with some shenanigans. Cassel no selling Sells punches. A beautiful standing dropkick starts a flurry of offense by Cassel leading to a 2 count. Sells sneaks in an elbow leading to a 2 count on Cassel. Cassel no selling Sell's palm strikes. Cassel deadlifts Sells up for a pump handle slam attempt but Sells rakes the eyes and rolls up Cassel for the 3 count while holding onto the ropes with Ref David not seeing it. Time: 6:37. A nice match advancing the narrative.
Third qualifying match: Erik Havok v Alan Angels
Angels is very popular here. Havock has the height and weight advantage(think of a blond-haired Baron Corbin) and Angels has the quickness. Angels applies a head scissors then follows up by dropkicking on Havok. All Angels thus far. Angels goes up for a top rope move and Havok hits the top rope to cause Angles to lose his balance. Havok on the attack. A tilt a whirl sidewalk slam on Angels for a 2 count. A missed leg drop gives Angels life. Angels has a buzzsaw of offense for a near fall. He tries for a wing snapper but Havok powers out. Havok hits a chokeslam for a 2 count. Havok goes for a move but Angels squirms out and hits the Wing Snapper for the victory. Time: 6:35.
Fourth qualifying match: QT Marshall v Chad Skywalker
QT is the head coach here at the 1 Fall Power Factory. It's been ages since I've seen Chad in action. QT starting off with a display of strength. One of the things that I love about Chad is that he verbalizes his selling, makes me believe that arm drags and other moves hurt! QT trash talking Chad. QT with most of the offense thus far. Skywalker chant by the crowd. Skywalker on the attack but a miss-step on the top rope gives QT an opening. A sneaky move from Chad almost gives him the win. QT with a knee in the back then a face plant for a near fall. QT goes up to the top rope but Nastyman's music hits. He makes his way out of the curtain and distracts QT who yells at him to get out. Skywalker hits a sliced bread for the 3 count. Time: 7:20. QT yells at Scene Nick. Says that Nov 16th he wants Nastyman one on one, Man v Moron. Scene Nick makes the match.
Intermission
Fifth match: Ladies Match: Ravana Zen v Aja Perrea w/ Dara Destiny
They go for a tie-up but Ravanna screams into Aja's face and startles her. Aja on the attack. Rav screams into Aja's face again to freak out Aja and starts Ravana's offense. Aja can't get anything going thus far. Finally, she gets a series of moves in for a near fall. Aja locks in a submission and the crowd chants "Tap!" Rav squirms out and hits her own move set for a near fall. Both ladies are slow to get up. Aja gets it together and hits her finisher for the 3 count. Time 8:55. After the match, Devyn Nicole comes into the ring and attacks Dara and lays out Aja.
Sixth match: "Upgrade" Mike Reed v "Kayode" Tim Miller
Mike hands the ring announcer a card that lists about a dozen nicknames. Not familiar with either men. Both men trading off holds. Miller tries to drag Reed from the outside of the ring by the hair but Reed turns and trips Miller off the middle rope. Reed in control. A Downgrade chant starts followed by a Kayode chant. Reed tries for a fist off the middle rope but his midsection eats some knees. Miller on the comeback. A corner splash, then a bulldog for a 2 count. Reed tries to sneak in a near fall. Miller hits a jumping DDT for the 3 count. Time: 5:55. Wasn't too sure what to expect from two men whom I've never seen before and I liked this match, some good chemistry between them
Seventh match: Elijah Evans v The Fearless Musa
The crowd chanting along with the entrance song for Elijah. Elijah is another guy who I haven't seen in a couple of years. Musa is a new face to me and he is wrestling with a type of Ninja headwrap on. Evans on the attack but Musa slings him outside and then hits a corkscrew planja. Evans knocks Musa off the top rope apron entering the ring. Evans measuring his blows on Musa for maximum effect. Musa hits a quick roll up for a 2 count but Evans is back on the attack. The crowd trying to get Musa back to life. Musa hits a belly to back to gain some separation. Both men trading blows with Musa gaining the advantage. Hits an inverted DDT for a 2 count. Musa going up top but before he could launch, Evans rolls to the other side of the ring. Evans plants Musa for a near fall. Musa hits a 450 for a 2 and 7/8's count. After exchanging several pining attempts, Evans plants Musa for the 3 count. Time: I forgot to start the stopwatch, I would say about 12 minutes. Musa has an interesting look and I am keen to see where he goes with it.
Eighth match: Bishop King v Cody Vance (with the Nastyman LeRoy)
It's been a couple of years since I've seen the former Raphel King in action and the first time seeing Cody Vance. King tries for a cross body and Vance catches him. He asks Nastyman what day it is and Nastyman replies "Arm Day!!" Vance then curls King about 5 times then throws him over his head. King gains the advantage outside the ring. King hits a beautiful standing dropkick for a 2 count. Both men knock their heads together in the middle of the ring following a somewhat awkward series of reversals. Trading blows in the ring, Vance gaining the advantage. He hits a driver for a near fall. King hits a springboard cutter for a 2 count. King takes off his boots, goes out and grabs some leather work boots and hits LeRoy with one. King stomps his feet like he's setting up for a superkick but when he turns around, he eats a spear from Vance for the 3 count. Time: 9:31. King attacks after the bell. He grabs the mic and jaws with a female fan at ringside and roasts her.
The next 1 Fall show is Nov 16th. Aja v Devyn Nicole plus the continuing qualification matches plus QT Marshall v Nastyman LeRoy.
