From Rob Brodhecker:
One of my bucket list of promotions I want to visit for 2019. I had initially wanted to come in March for Bushido X, but my best friend flew in that weekend, and that scrubbed those plans. There are at least 6 matches scheduled for tonight featuring: King of Bushido Champion, BSHP King, IWE Southern States Champion, Kameron Kade, Cauliflower Brown, and Josh Cutshall will face off, Karl Hager, Lodi, Drew Adler, the debut of Logan Creed, and the return of the Hooligans, plus others.
The show is at American Legion Post 63. The last American Legion Post I was in was back in Fort Myers Beach, and this building is about twice the size of that one, being more in line with the military post just down the road. Also, Augusta National is almost next door, so this will be the closest that I'll ever be to be playing at the Masters. There are 4 rows around three sides of the ring with the front row having long tables in front of them for food and drinks. There is also an elevated area where there are tables set up. They serve food and also adult beverages. If they had some waitresses, this would be the perfect set-up! Bob Keller is your ring announcer, and Ray Boring and Danny Mead are your referees. There are easily 200 people here.
Drew Adler vs. Savanah Evans
Drew seems shocked that this is an intergender matchup and voices his frustration to Keller, but Keller wasn't having any of it. Drew keeps asking if this is the same deal as wrestling a man, Evans says yes, so Drew shoves her down. Evans gets up, pushes Drew and then arm drags him over. Evans is a tall, fit lady, hailing from Charlotte, NC, and is just a few inches shorter than Drew, and if you've seen Drew, you know how tall he is. Drew withstands Evan's early outburst of offense and just lands fright hook to end it. Drew is landing loads of knees and foot stomps to Evans. Evans' starts her comeback and gets a 2 count. Drew gets her up on the top turnbuckle, but Evans knocks him off. She dives at Drew but Drew dodges but couldn't dodge the fist to his face. Evans lands another punch but only got a 2 count. The crowd is rallying behind Evans, but as she goes to grab him, he rolls her up for the victory at 10:30. Drew has the mic and wants to shake hands with Evans, and she does. Drew claims that she punches harder than most of the guys in the back. I haven't seen Drew in ages, and it was good to see him in action. Evans was pretty decent. B-
Karl Hager vs. Neil Carter vs. Charlie Anarchy
Carter has a stapler and tried to put a staple in the butt of Hager. Carter is about the same size of Stunt Marshal and seems to be playing up being slightly off. Hager and Carter of a brief team up but Charlie knocks them for a loop. Hager has got to have one the higher pitched screams known to the wrestling world. Charlie gets Carter up in a verticle suplex for about 45 seconds, Carter's feet were almost touching the ceiling. The ending was Charlie giving Carter a Brainbuster, then a right hook. He grandstands a second, and Hager comes up from behind and spins Charlie around, and Charlie slugs Hager with a right hook. Charlie turns to face the crowd grandstanding again, so he doesn't see that Hager has fallen on top Carter for the cover, time 6:03. C-
Cauliflower Brown vs. Joshua Cutshall
The last time I saw Cutshall was at a Wrestlemerica show. This will be the first time seeing Brown in action. Brown looks to be channeling Big Bully Busick. Cutshall is still insane and is about 6 inches taller than Brown. Brown tries for a quick roll up, but the ref was totally out of position. Brown slams Cutshall's head onto a turnbuckle, and now Cutshall thinks he's the Hurricane. Cutshall had Brown beat, but T-Money came out to cause a distraction, Kameron Kade came in from the other side and grabbed Brown's cauliflower and goes to hit Cutshall with it, but Cutshall kicks Kade in the face. Brown then grabs the cauliflower and hits Cutshall in the head with it and scores the pinfall when the ref finally turns around. Time: 9:51. The crowd was firmly behind Cutshall all the way with all of his antics B-
-Intermission-
From the announcements at intermission, there looks to be a bunch of wrestling action in the Augusta/Columbia area.
The Hooligans (Mason and Devon Cutter) vs. High Profile (Shea McGrady and Will Demented) vs. Lethal Injection (Brad and Brian Mercury).
HP had a couple of dates at Peachstate back in the spring. I almost thought that the Hooligans switched up members as I didn't recognize Devon. First time seeing LI. All 6 men start brawling at the bell, with the action spilling out of the ring. The ref has no control in this match. The wrestlers are now out in the crowd and in the concession area. They are diving from the elevated dining area onto the ballroom floor. (It's about 4 feet in height difference.) They finally get back into the ring, and HP wins with a corkscrew dive at 7:47. This was complete and utter mayhem, B- for the mayhem factor. In any other match, the ref would have thrown the match out after the first 2 minutes.
Lodi vs. Kameron Kade (c) for the IWE Southern States Championship
Lodi is looking jacked as he runs around the ring area, giving out high 5's and signs. Kade comes out being accompanied by T-Money. Lodi tries for a quick pin off the bell, and Kade bails out fo the ring. It's all Lodi in the opening minutes. T-Money provides the distraction to give Kade the upper hand. Kade is going up top for a flying leg drop, but Lodi moves out of the way to start Lodi's comeback. Lodi sets up for a DDT, but Kade runs him back into the ref. Lodi hits the DDT for the visual 3 count but no ref. T-Money enters the ring and Lodi gives him a DDT. Cauliflower Brown comes out and tries to attack, but Lodi grabs him and sets up for a DDT, but Kade attacks from behind and covers Lodi for the recovered ref to slap the mat 3 times. Time: about 11 minutes. B+.
Logan Creed vs. BSHP King(c) for the King of Bushido Title
Creed and King are talking trash as King makes his way to the ring. I don't remember if these two men have had a match before or not. Chad Skywalker makes his way to the ring, and he has a mic. He says that this will now be a triple threat. King's not happy with that. King is saying that Chad just can't insert himself into the match. Keller agrees and says that with the power invested in him, he makes the match a triple threat match. The ref goes to start the match, and then Sugar Dunkerton comes out, and he wants in the match as well. This is his first match back from his latest trip to England. Keller agrees and makes it a 4-way dance.
Creed and King toss the other two out of the ring and face off in the middle of the ring. King is one of the few people in Ga who can look Creed in the eyes. Creed and Chad are fighting ringside and D, and King are in the ring. D sends King out of the ring and dodges the charging Creed who goes through the ropes and onto King. Creed is establishing dominance and D wants to combine forces with Chad and King to take out Creed. King and D tie up Creed in a corner and Chad nails a kick to the face. The action is picking up so won't be able to do a full description. D and King hit Creed with stereo superkicks. The alliance breaks up after Creed is sent to the outside. Creed back in and gives a chokeslam backbreaker to Chad, a Scorched Earth to King, and Creed tosses D with a suplex. Kade, T-Money, and Brown hit the ring area and get Creed to the back. D, King, and Chad go ring around with punches. It looked like King had D pinned, but the ref says only 2. King gets the pin on D by grabbing the ropes right in front of the ref. Creed came back but couldn't make the save. King gets a mic. Says that he's the best in and out of the locker room. He's beaten Chad, D, and if he ever gets Creed one on one, he'll beat his ass too. A-. A short but very effective promo to end the night.
