This is the second part of the doubleheader show put on by Action Wrestling. Still, for me, it will be the first one I post as the venerable Larry Goodman did a report on the first show of the evening. I will post my take on that first show in about 24 hours.
Scott Hensley brings out the host of The Tonight (in this very ring) Show, Matt Sells. Matt promises that this show will not be like other shows that run, like bad comedy, overlong promos, and having the show run over. Matt says that since the show is PG13, he can say the F word one time, and he's written a song about it. He sings accompanied by Donnie Janela on guitar. Effy comes out, interrupting Matt. Effy says that he's "hot, hot steaming s word in the wrestling world right now." Effy says that he will defeat Sells on his own show. Sells calls Effy a big vaping butthole and saying that he will spoil Effy's debut at Action Wrestling. A good intro to introduce Effy for the 4-5 non-smart marks above the age of 18 in the crowd.
Graham Bell vs. Fearless Musa
Bell has bulked up since I first saw him at the 2019 SCI. The gimmick is in the style of a nomadic post-apocalyptic wastelander, complete with a "rocket launcher." Bell throws his jacket in the face of Musa, attacking while Musa is distracted. Musa counters and sends Bell out of the ring. Musa wants to tope, but Bell slides back into the ring and then trips Musa onto the ring apron. Vicious kick to the back of Musa. Leg sweep by Musa, but Bell gets his knees up on Musa's standing Senton. Bell spears Musa in mid-air. Musa sends Bell to the floor and sets up for a dive and lands it. Musa was going to the top rope, but Bell moves out of the way. Another vicious knee by Bell. Bell sets up for verticle suplex, but instead of falling backward, Bell drops Musa onto Bell's knees to win at 7:04. A decent opening match, C+
Adam Priest vs. Patrick Heeter
Action debut for both men. Priest has been making some waves in Alabama and Tennesse, don't know much about Heeter. Priest showing some disrespect to Heeter in the early going. Heeter sends Priest to the canvas hard. Powerslam for a near fall. Priest on the ring apron. Priest grabs Keeter's beard and drapes Heeter's throat over the top rope. Priest up top and frog splashes onto the back of Heeter, and then locks in the Walls of Jericho for the win at 2:55. That was relatively quick, wasn't expecting that, C.
Sells rushes the ring, saying that he wants to ring announce the next match.
Arik Royal vs. One Called Manders
Sells totally butchers Royal's names. Sells puts over Manders hugely. This should be a slobber knocker. A nice feeling out process between two hosses. Royal comes out swinging. Manders comes back with a flying shoulder tackle and then lariats Royal out of the ring. Both men are on the floor fighting until Royal rakes the eyes and then slams Manders' back onto the ring apron. Royal is showing off his agility with a series of kicks. Royal dumps Manders like a bad habit for a near fall. Royal rushes in, but Manders moves, and Royal posts himself. Middle rope dive by Manders. Manders going high rent and lands the shoulder tackle, Manders gets Royal over in a gut wrench suplex for a near fall. Royal t-bones Manders to no effect, Manders returns the t-bone for a near fall. Royal jackknife powerbombs Manders for a near fall. Manders flapjacks Royal then turns Royal inside out with a clothesline for a near fall. The crowd thought it was three. Manders gets another near fall off of a belly to back. Manders up top for a moonsault but Royal moves out of the way. Royal pins Manders at 10:37 with the Space Jam, I believe, damn ref in the way, B+.
Angelus Layne vs. Nolan Edward
Edward is still favoring his right hip flexor from the earlier match in the night. Initial tie-ups prove to be a stalemate. Layne is almost as large as Edward. Layne slaps Edward, Edward returns the slap. Layne punches Edward, Edward sends Layne out of the ring with a punch. They fight ringside, staggering each other with strikes. Back in the ring, Layne gains the advantage with chops to the throat of Edward. Layne is landing some heavy hands on Edward. Edward catches Layne coming in, but Layne sends Edward to the mat. More strikes by Layne, but those seem to pump Edward up. Layne fires back, Edward just goes berserk, going nuts on Layne. Edward leaves the ring and grabs a table and places flat in the ring, leg side up. Layne is pleading that her neck is hurt, and then sucker strikes Edward. Layne sends Edward ass directly onto the folded table legs, ouch.
A German suplex by Edward, then a kick to the back of Layne's head. Snake eyes by Edward, near fall. Edward slides the table in between the ring ropes so that it is standing up. He whips Layne toward the table, but Layne puts on the brakes. Edward gets a near fall on Layne. He kicks her in the stomach multiple times. A kick to the face of Layne. Edward goes up top, and Layne catches him. They set up for a superplex, but Edward blocks it. They fight up top. Layne has Edward up in a fireman's carry and turns it into a DVD. Layne gets a near fall out of it. They stare at each other with utter hatred and then start striking each other. A bitch slap by Layne . and another. They start slapping each other all around the face and neck area. Layne grabs Edward and just throws him headfirst into the table, and Edward spills out onto the floor. Edward is dead weight for Layne to get back into the ring. They are both spent. High double knees by Layne and she covers Edward rather lackadaisically. The wrong move by her, as Edward rolls her over for the three count at 16:17. Layne is upset and almost goes after Action CEO, Matt Griffin. Sheer and utter brutality in an intergender match, A.
Effy vs. Matt "Sex" Sells
It was just over a year ago at an Action show that I had proclaimed that Sells-o-Mania was running wild in Georgia, and a year later, and a GWH performer of the year award later, and the mania still has legs. Effy offers a tainted hand to shake(he stuck his hand down his trunks), and Sells responds with an even more dirty middle finger. PG13 folks. Chain wrestling starts the match. Sells has a modified surfboard on Effy. Effy mouths the rope to cause the break. Rat Trap by Sells, followed by a running leg for a near fall. Effy dodges a rushing Sells. Effy on the attack.
Effy offers Matt a full hour massage in the back if Matt taps. Matt hulks up, and they start trading blows. Effy grabs the nipples of Matt and then bites one. Being kinky hurts. Near fall on Sells. Effy kisses Sells on the lips, and Sells punches Effy on the lips. Sells on the attack, leading to the high knee, neck breaker combo. Effy counter-attacks and gets a near fall. Both men are slow to get back to their feet. Effy locks in a cross face. Sells teases taping but is able to get to his knees. Flying neck breaker by Effy. Effy goes for a flying leg, Matt catches him, powerbombs Effy, and then lands the Jushin Thunder Lager palm strike to score the pinfall at 13:04. The crowd was ecstatic for the palm strike ending, B.
The crowd gets on their feet to celebrate the win. Hensley sends the crowd home, repeating that Action Wrestling will be back with another doubleheader show on Oct 2nd
Final Thoughts:
1. Damn, that was a physically brutal match. For several portions of it, I seriously thought that Layne and Edward turned into a total shoot.
3. The Layne/Edward match totally stole the thunder from the most excellent Royal/Manders match.
4. The whole night was defined by hard-hitting matches, with 2 of such in the first show and most of the second show's matches. If you like that style, you would be in hog heaven.
5. Did I mention the hard-hitting action?

7. Not sure why the Priest/Heeter match was so short.
8. The Effy/Sells match was in a more serious mood than what I was expecting. In fact, apart from the opening promo and Sell's intro of Royal, everything was presented in a "matter of fact, up in yo face, oh sh!t that's gotta hurt!" manner.
9. The verticle suplex into getting dropped onto Bell's knees was something I hadn't seen before. Rather neat.
10. The whole show was about people beating other people up. I loved it.
