From SVW:
Despite a thunderstorm less than an hour before bell time, 227 fans came out to the spacious backyard at the Brewery, that SVW has called home ever since the onset of COVID 19.
The preshow saw round two of The Black Diamond invitational tournament hosted by Scene Nick. Mook the BTSG bested Lamar Diggs in a fast paced match that instantly had the crowd hyped. Mook scored the pin off a quick roll up after a miscalculation by Diggs. Mook advances. Impressive performances from both men.
The main show began with SVW Heavyweight Champion Axel Rod in the ring with the SVW title. The ultimate babyface champion soaked in the cheers before getting serious. He said he couldn’t help but notice at the end of the last show, it seems that SVW Dave Hadden has rounded up a new little army who calls themselves FAME. HE said they left everyone laying last month….except the champ. He said Fame has claimed they will make SVW great by destroying it and rebuilding it in their image, but as the only 2 time SVW champ, he has a thing or two to say about that. He reminded everyone that he is the one who ended the career of “The Devil Himself” Justin Legend, and put him out of wrestling, so he would have no problem extending the same courtesy to Hadden and the rest of FAME. Just then, Axel was interrupted by a mystery man who made his way to the ring. The man introduced himself as Axel’s real life biological brother, Nitrous. He congratulated Axel on the success here at SVW, and he was glad he finally got to come see it for himself. After all, he said, they weren’t only brothers, but also they were each other’s greatest opponent. What Nitrous couldn’t understand was why his phone never rang. He said he decided to overlook that, and just come up here face to face, and ask for his opportunity. Before the champ could respond, the 7 foot tall monster, Austin Towers came to the ring. He asked Axel if he was sure he was ready for tonight, because he seemed a bit distracted. Towers said he didn’t give a damn about some new group running around SVW, and he definitely didn’t give a damn about this little family squabble. He reminded Axel that his was the name on the contract for the main event, and Axel better focus on the task at hand. Towers glared at Nitrous who backed off and made his exit. Towers then snatched the title belt from Axel and hoisted it high.
Match 1- Jamie Holmes an Machine w/ Dave Hadden vs The Gotch Brothers
Hadden and all of FAME including a new masked man in full riot gear entered the ring. Hadden said the mercy killing of SVW continues tonight. He introduced the masked man as his personal security Machine, He then made an open challenge for any team to come down and try their luck against Machine and “The Gatekeeper of FAME” Jamie Holmes. The challenge was answered by the debuting Gotch Brothers. The match started with technical displays from the Gotches. The SVW crowd took an instant liking to them. They soon found their attack grounded by Machine, and it was a k2d (kick to dick) from Holmes behind the back of the official that gave FAME their first victory of the night. Winners: Jamie Holmes and Machine (FAME)
Match 2- SVW Hardcore Championship- Barbed Wire Hell Dog Collar Match- Ryan Murdoch vs “Black Sheep” Cody McCulley.
This was a dog collar match with the addition of one side of the ring ropes wrapped in barbed wire. Gusset plates, steel chairs, the wire and the steel chain all came into play. The finish was grotesque with FAME member Murdoch hanging McCulley over the top rope with the chain. The official called for the stoppage. Murdoch continued to hang McCulley after the bell. McCulley’s body went limp, and security finally managed to free him from the collar. Even for SVW the level of violence displayed was intense. McCulley could not regain consciousness and was carried from the ring and taken to a medical facility.
Winner: Ryan Murdoch (FAME)
Match 3- Choptop vs Marko
Choptop made his way to the ring with conviction and grabbed the mic. He said he wanted to remind FAME, and in particular Ryan Murdoch that he is a former SVW champion, that his reign is the longest in SVW history. He said he just watched Murdoch try to kill his best friend. So if it’s a deathwish Murdoch has, that’s exactly what he will get. Choptop said he was officially challenging Murdoch to a buried alive match on October 24.
The debuting veteran, Marko made his way to the ring. This was as solid of a match as you will see. Both men matched each other move for move. Marko’s arrogant pin attempts and showboating soon drew the ire of the fans. Choptop won with a rollup. Marko tried to make nice with the fans post match by dancing on a lucky audience member…..then drinking their beer.
Match 4- Charlie Anarchy vs King Garuda
The returning former champ, Anarchy, was cheered loudly on arrival. The fans remembered him bouncing the head of Dave Hadden off the wall of the steel cage, and laying him out in June. King Garuda, making his debut is a seasoned luchador. The contrast of Garuda’s high flying and Anarchy’s striking and suplexes made for a compelling battle. Anarchy’s strikes were stiff and precise. When the sound reverberates in a 15 acre field, you know they’re solid. Several times, it seemed like Garuda was on the verge of an upset in his debut, but he soon fell victim to the patented Anarchy brainbuster for the 1 2 3.
Winner: Charlie Anarchy
Post match, Dave Hadden appeared on the entrance stage he said he was willing to admit when he made a mistake. He said he was the first to recognize the greatness in Anarchy. He said FAME needed a knockout artist, and Anarchy needed a paycheck. He tossed a FAME t shirt to Anarchy. Anarchy hesitated, then to the disgust of the fans, put the shirt on.
Match 5- Bobby D vs “Serpent Assassin” Brandon Whatley w/ Jamie Holmes
The stipulation of this match is that FAME member Brandon Whatley’s signature nunchucks are legal. The two martial artists squared off and Whatley seemed to be outstriking Bobby and lighting him up with kicks. Ever the crowd favorite, Bobby fired up and stopped Whatley’s offense with his own. Bobby soon was able to take the nunchucks away from Whatley. Holmes soon entered the ring with a second pair, and tossed them to Whatley. Whatley swung for Bobby...hard. Bobby moved and Whatley cracked Holmes over the skull with the chucks. Bobby grabbed a shocked Whatley with a small package and the pin.
Winner: Bobby D
Post match, all of FAME hit the ring and savagely beat Bobby down. Then Dave hadden introduced the newest member of FAME. Charlie Anarchy. Charlie made his way down to the ring sporting his FAME shirt. He stood over Bobby and then extended his hand to Hadden. Hadden and Anarchy shook hands but Anarchy held it a little long. A look of fear came over the face of Hadden right before Anarchy handed out fastball punches to every member of FAME scattering them from the ring. The pop for Anarchy was huge. Once the most hated man in SVW, he is now one of the most beloved.
Match 6- SVW Heavyweight Championship- Axel Rod vs Austin Towers.
The big fight feel was in the air, as the crowd was truly in awe of the sheer size of Towers, who made referee Jeremie Prater hold a “Towers Over All” banner. The smaller champion fought hard, but nothing seemed to do more than stun Towers. Towers dominated with multiple back breakers and mammoth chops. Foley soon charged up and was able to take Towers off his game with well placed kicks and strikes of his own. Foley managed to hit his trademark blockbuster, and drop Towers. That spectacle brought the crowd to a frenzy. Suddenly, from the crowd, Nitrous hit the ring and started pounding away at the champion causing the DQ. Towers looked visibly frustrated as he had just lost his chance to become SVW champion. Towers exited the ring and began to walk to the back, Nitrous continued the punishment. Towers suddenly stopped in the aisle and looked back toward the ring. He returned to the ring and planted Nitrous with a mammoth chokeslam. Towers then helped the champion to his feel and they shook hands in a mutual display of respect. Towers handed Axel the title and slowly backed out of the ring and left the champ to celebrate to close the show.
Winner by DQ and still SVW Heavyweight Champion- Axel Rod
