Southern Violence and Wrestling debuted at Strange Duck Brewing in Commerce Georgia on Saturday, September 19.  Paid attendance was 260.

Ring announcer Jonathan Feltner welcomed the crowd and introduced SVW Heavyweight Champion Axel Rod.  The champ entered to cheers.  Axel said even though hesurvived a “towering” challenge last weekend in Athens against Austin Towers, and even though his own flesh and blood brother decided to get involved to try and end the reign of Madness, he wasn’t taking a night off.  Before he could finish,  he was confronted by General Tommy Alan Lee and the returning former SVW champion, Swole.  General Lee said he was glad the champ wanted to work, because he is looking into the eyes of one of the most dominant forces in the history of SVW, who had been conveniently erased from history.   General Lee said that he was the one who negotiated a deal with hated SVW owner, Dave Hadden, granting his client a championship match upon his return.  Axel responded and told General Lee, that in case he hadn’t been paying attention, things have changed in SVW.  Gone are the days of the 40 mile vets, and the 10 minute rest holds.  Axel went down the list of competitors such as Geter, Aiden Wright, Charlie Anarchy, Austin Towers, Effy, Brad Cash, Vary Morales, and more, and said it appeared that when the competition leveled up, Swole disappeared.  Swole then caught Axel with a spinebuster out of nowhere, almost planting the champion through the mat.  General Lee advised Swole to stop and save the rest for when the title was on the line.  General Lee and the challenger exited as the champion slowly rose.

 

 

Match1- Tyler Graves vs Choptop

   A fast paced technical opener which saw Graves pick up the pin after a modified ddt. 

Winner:  Tyler Graves

Match 2- Machine vs Vincent Only

   Machine, representing FAME, was accompanied by Jamie Holmes and Ryan Murdoch.

Only, making his in ring debut, stunned the mercenary initially, but was soon stopped in his tracks and punished.  Holmes and Murdoch took advantage of a distracted referee Jeremie Prater to put the boots to Only on the outside.  In the end the odds were too much for only and Machine picked up the victory.

Winner: Machine

Murdoch and Holmes remained in the ring and said they were supposed to be facing the SVW tag team champions tonight, but they had been informed that ½ of the Frat Party, Eddie Honcho was unable to compete, so they will accept their forfeit victory. (Honcho had been involved in a serious car accident, and SVW wishes him a speedy recovery) Before that could happen, Bryce Cannon hit the ring along with Frat Party’s manager, Kenneth Beckner, who volunteered to step up for “Brother Edward”

Match 3- Jamie Holmes and Ryan Murdoch (FAME) vs Bryce Cannon and Ken Beckner

   The tag titles were not on the line, and the team of Holmes and Murdoch were surprised at some of the teamwork of Cannon and Beckner.  The crowd usually hates the Frats, but it seems they hate FAME more.  Eventually it was Holmes and Murdoch with the victory to the disgust of the crowd.

Match 4- SVW Heavyweight Championship- Axel Rod ( c ) vs Swole w/General Tommy Alan Lee

The smaller champion unleashed fury off the bell with a barrage of strikes and eventually sent Swole to the outside.  Axel connected with a bodypress off the top to the ground below.  His offense was short lived and he soon found himself being dominated by the challenger with power moves and body blows, targeting the ribs.  The challenger continued to work the body of the champion, scoring numerous near falls.  After a misstep by the big man, Axel was able to climb the ropes again.  General Lee grabbed the champions leg only to be booted in the face and off the apron for his trouble.  Axel hit a blockbuster to drop Swole, followed up by a top rope “madness drop” elbow from the opposite corner for the pin.

Match 5- “Suicide King” Brad Cash vs Vary Morales - Deathmatch

   This one will go down as possibly the most extreme match in SVW history.  The deathmatch involved Gusset Plates, BBQ Skewers, mousetraps, tacks, and even a tricycle used by Morales to add some extra speed to a sit out lariat.  Both men were bleeding profusely within the first minute. Morales hit an insane suicide dive from atop an actual functioning school bus that is part of the decor at the brewery.  Cash recovered and answered with a chokeslam through a bundle of light tubes.  Vary’s back was pouring blood. Soon, the ring steps and a chair were set up on the outside with a bundle of light tubes as a bridge.  Morales sent Cash crashing through and mercifully scored the pin.

Winner:  Vary Morales

Post match, Cash and Morales shook hands and helped each other to the back.

Southern Violence and Wrestling returns to Southern Brewing Company in Athens on October 24.
