From Rob Brodhecker:
I was running late to get to the
show in time, so I missed the earlier start time and missed most of the first
match of The Beautiful Bald Besties against Owen Parker and Chris Jacobs.
Still trying to set up the laptop. Matt and David start out. Faces
double team early on Ali, Ali and Legacy, Honcho in and Pope in. Heat on Pope
by Simon. Ali in, tease to a hot tag but no. Honcho distracts the ref for
shenanigans. Heel tag, dirty deeds happen. Standing dropkick gives hope to
Pope, Hot tag to Sells. Sells taking care of Ali, Jushin Thunder Lager palm
strike sends Ali to the outside LEgacy dives on him, and they fight out in the
crowd. Honcho is holding Sells for Simon to deck with an object but Sell ducks,
and Simon hits Honcho; Sells pins him at approx 9 minutes. Sloppy action in a
small spot, C+.
Ladies attraction match with a special referee, Bambi: Brooklyn Creed vs. Crystal Rose
Bambi gets a good reaction from
the crowd. Crystal gets the early advantage; the crowd doesn't like Creed. Rose
and Creed are a couple of top female talents that currently wrestle in Georgia.
Most of the female talent wrestle outside the state. That's a rant there. Creed
in control with enough borderline tactics to keep Bambi busy with attempted 5
counts. Rose is fighting back, but Creed cuts her off. Creed paint brushing the
back of Rose's head. Rose being choked in the corner, Irish whip, but Rose
rebounds and sends Creed's head into the canvas. Full-on comeback by Rose.
Three amigos by Rose. Creed to the outside, she breaks the count at 7, Rose
follows. Creed hits Rose with a chair. Creed tries to bring the chair into the
ring, Bambi grabs it, and while Bambi's back is turned, Creed hits Rose with a
pair of nucks and covers for the pin at 9:50. Bambi sees the nucks afterward,
and reverses the decision. Winner, Rose. Creed isn't happy and physically
confronts Bambi, and Bambi slaps the taste out of her mouth, C.
Corey Hollis promo
Hollis has a mic and cuts a promo on everyone in the back about how he's
beaten everyone in the back and establishing his bona fides. He calls out the
birthday boy Sal. Sal shows and says that Corey hasn't beaten him. Sal says
that it doesn't matter when but Corey needs to leave the ring so Sal can have
his match. Corey wants to lead the crowd in singing Happy birthday to Sal. It
starts off fine, but Sal tries to attack mid-song. Sal avoids the rush, and
Corey bails out of the ring.
Jordane got a mixed reaction from
the crowd, but he definitely has a cheering section. This is my first time
seeing Jordane live in action. He's a big 'un, about 6'2" to 6'4"
muscular build. He's got at least 6 inches in height on Sal, but Sal has damn
near 20 years of in-ring experience behind him. Sal grabs the bottle of water
that's ringside, teases splashing Paul with the water. Sal does splash water
into the face of Paul, and he takes a drink of water. Paul totally sells out
the water splash. Sal offers his hand, Paul goes to shake it, and Sal spits the
rest of it in Paul's face. Good stuff, Sal's totally under the skin of Paul.
Paul establishes control with his strength. Sal wants to suplex Paul; Paul
doesn't play, and he suplexes Sal. Paul is doing heelish things to Sal, mostly
choking him. Paul goes to the floor to do more damage to Sal, who was in a
corner. Sal goes back to try to suplex Paul, Paul falls on him for a near fall.
Sal is trying everything to get Paul off his feet. Eventually, a superkick sets
Paul down, near fall. Sal sets up for another suplex and manages to get Paul
over. Sal climbs up to the top turnbuckle, and then the voice of Corey Hollis
comes over the speakers. This distracts Sal long enough for Paul to hoist Sal
up spin him around in an F5 type move. Paul pins Sal with that at 9:17, B-.
Stuckey is over huge with the WM crowd. The
feeling-out process ends with Hollis bailing out of the ring. Back in the ring,
Stuckey gut wrenches Hollis over. Hollis grabs the hair of Stuckey. They start
trading blows. The action speeds up a bit, and Hollis bails out of the ring
again. Stuckey runs along the ring apron and lands a knee on Hollis. They fight
halfway around the ring before Hollis gets back into the ring. Stuckey took his
time getting back into the ring. Hollis grabs him and gets him up in a
fireman's carry and drops Stuckey's throat across the top rope. Hollis grounds
and pounds on Stuckey, Weakley breaks it up. Hollis slows everything down with
a chin lock, but Stuckey fights up and out of it. Stuckey catches Hollis with a
knee to the face of Hollis. A series of snap suplexes by Hollis. Stuckey blocks
another suplex attempt and rolls up Hollis in an inside cradle for a near fall.
Hollis fires back, dazing Stuckey. Hollis climbs to the top turnbuckle, Stuckey
rushes up the ropes, and they trade blows. Stuckey superplexes Hollis from the
second rope.
Both men down, and Weakley starts
the 10 count. Both men up at 8, and Stuckey fires up and goes off on Hollis.
Stuckey lands a top rope, flying leg drop on Hollis for a near fall. They trade
moves and blows, ending with a gut-wrench powerbomb for a near fall by Stuckey.
Hollis rolls to the ring apron, Stuckey follows. They fight there, and Hollis
gets Stuckey up in a fireman's carry, but Stuckey lands in the ring. Stuckey
drop kicks Hollis off the ring apron. Stuckey wants a suicide dive, but Hollis
catches him with a cutter as Stuckey was coming through the ropes. With Stuckey
draped on the rope, Hollis goes to the top turnbuckle with some bad intentions
on his mind. Sal Rinauro rushes out and onto the ring apron, distracting
Hollis. Stuckey recovers and hits a kick to Hollis. Hollis falls into the ring,
Stuckey picks him up and lands a cutter to get the pin at 22:03. A bit long in
my book, but still good, B.
Hollis slow to get up and out of the ring. The refs have to come out. Hollis wants a mic and calls Sal some names.
Judas gets a good pop from the crowd. North comes out with a mic asking
Judas if he can see North. North introduces his Mystery man, D Munny. Judas
looks incredulous at this guy, total mismatch. Judas offers his hand to Munny,
who slaps it with a stack of money that Munny had, guessing that North paid
him. Judas sets up, but then Elemento rushes the ring and attacks Judas, he is
the true mystery man. Match actually starts now. North is talking smack into
the microphone. Elemento is beating down
on Judas. Judas tries to comeback, but Elemento kicks the legs out. North won't
shut up. Judas gets cut down again. Elemento is working the arm, both men to
the floor, Judas gets whipped into the ring post. Chop by Elemento, Judas fires
back but gets cut off again. Back in the ring, near fall on Judas.
Corner splash by Elemento, but
Judas roars back. Elemento lures Judas into the corner, and Elemento sets up
for a running dropkick. An overconfident cover by Elemento, Judas kicks out.
Elemento sets Judas up top, and Judas fights out and lands a second rope
clothesline, both men down. North urging Elemento on. Both men up and trading
blows. Short arm chokeslam gets Judas a near fall. Elemento in trouble. Back
body drop by Elemento, and he climbs up to the top rope for a twisting
moonsault judas moves out of the way Chokeslam by Judas, that shuts North up
temporarily. Another chokeslam gets Judas the victory at 10:08. The ref is
still picking up the money in the ring from earlier in the match, someone's
getting paid. C+/B-.
Aleksandr, FKA Tyson Dean, won the
WrestleMerica Championship in controversial fashion at the last show, which set
up this tag match. Creed comes out to a big pop, people are up on their feet.
Pain's pop was just a large as Creed's was. A USA chant starts, really
surprised that there weren't any flags waved by the crowd. Logan starts off
with Aleks but turns his attention to Neal in the corner, and the Koloffs take
advantage of the miscue. Creed fights back and tags in Pain. Monster open hand
slap to the chest by Creed. Pain wants to do it as well, OUCH! Stereo power
slams on the Koloffs, and they bail out of the ring, Creed topes them. It
looked like for a moment that Pain wanted to do a dive as well, but not
tonight. Creed and Pain in control of the Koloffs. Neal gets Creed out of the
ring for Aleks to attack. Creed taking the punishment from the Koloffs, they
are working the head and neck area. Creed walks Neal backward, but Neal kicks
back at Pain to prevent the tag. More double teams on Creed. The Koloffs are
doing everything they can to prevent the hot tag. Creed fighting back,
everyone's down. Hot tag to Pain, he goes off on the Koloffs. All four men in
the ring, rocking it. Pain sets up for a spear, but Neal sidesteps, and Creed
takes the spear. Neal takes Pain out with a running lariat and gets the pin at
12:24, B-. Pain wants Aleksandr.
The Oct 10 show will feature a Barnesville Street Fight between The Dirty Blonds against Fry Daddy and Dominque Stuckey. Mike Pain will face off against Neal Koloff. Aleksandr Koloff will be barred from ringside, and Pain will get a shot at the WM Championship if he wins.
1. I'm probably going to get
roasted for missing the first match: stiff upper lip, Rob.
3. I'm seriously thinking about
putting together a video on the state of women's wrestling in Georgia. Ladies,
you can direct message me your thoughts on what's going on.
4. Looking forward to the series of Hollis/Rinauro matches in the coming months.
5. I was impressed by Paul
Jordane. I've heard about him from previous WM reports, but this was my first
time seeing him live.
