All the SFCW titles are on the line for tonight’s show along with the Anarchy Championship. SFCW is setting up the road for Ultimate Battleground. There will be other matches on the show that highlight that upcoming show and others to introduce the crowd of 250+/- to some new talent.
Rick Richards and
John “The Body” Johnson will switch out on ring announcer duties. Adam Vance
will be on video commentary. Ken Todd, Radar Martin, and David Weakley are your
referees.
Stryk Nyn’s is set up
in the ring with a chair, looks like something is afoot with that, but he
vacates the ring to allow John Johnson the opportunity to bring out David
Manders and Bill Behrens. Manders comes out wielding a kendo stick. JJ gives
the mic to Manders. Manders and Behrens do tribute to Mr. Wonderful, Paul
Orndorff, listing his contributions to Georgia wrestling. A ten bell salute
with a moment of silence follows. Bill then sings “God Bless America” to
officially open the show.
Styk’s back in the ring and interrupts JJ. Stryk says that he doesn’t have a match tonight and wants a victim. Todd Sexton comes out, tells Stryk to stop bitching and moaning. Stryk reminds Sexton that he does want he wants, when he wants to and insults Sexton’s manhood. Sexton’s brings out Billy Buck and offers that match with Buck if Stryk puts up his spot in the Ultimate Battleground, Stryk accepts and we have the match.
Stryk Nyn vs Billy Buck with Todd Sexton
Fists are flying
right off the bell, haymakers by both men. Stryk gets Buck in two consecutive
suplexes to the delight of the crowd. Stryk stomps Todd’s hand when Todd had it
resting on the ring apron. Buck uses that to send Stryk out of the ring so
Sexton can get a kick in. Stryk fires up, goes up top but Buck moves out of the
way. Buck sets up for the buckshot, decides against it. Stryk makes him pay and
gets a three count, but Buck’s foot was on the ropes, couldn’t see if it was
placed there by Todd or not. Stryk wants to do a move but Sexton’s up on the
apron, causing the distraction. Stryk chases Todd around and into the ring,
where Buck plants the Buckshot right in the mush of Stryk to pick up the win at
8:19. As a result, Stryk Nyn is out of Ultimate Battleground and Billy Buck is
in. Stryk grabs his travel bag and storms out of the building via side door.
Thoughts: Myron is right; Sexton is evil.
Luka Daniels and Hunter James vs. The Washington Bullets
(Jon and Trey Williams)
Daniels is a Judas
trainee and James is a Hawkins trainee and they have the uphill task of facing
one of, if not the most decorated tag teams of the past 15 years of Georgia
history. James and Daniels offer to shake hands and the Bullets do so. The
match starts off with wrestling and James and Daniels get a double team in on
Jon. Jon powers his way for a Bullets double team on Daniels. Daniels takes Bullets’
beating but is able to make the tag to James. James is flying around like he’s
got a jet pack on, but he gets taken out by the Bullets’ Marion Barry double team
and gets pinned at 5:54. The Bullets shake James and Daniels hands after the
match.
Thoughts: TBH, I didn’t know anything about James and
Daniels apart from what’s been posted on social media. Thought they did well
against the Bullets and it helped that at the last show, James and Daniels had
a match against the Approved, which got them over with the crowd.
Nick Halen with Todd Sexton vs. Marcus Kross with Bill Behrens
This match was set
up at the last show when both Halen and Kross interfered in each other matches.
Sexton’s on the mic and announces that David Ali will be entrant #1 in Ultimate
Battleground. 80% of the crowd had their hands up for Kross’s entrance. Kross has
Halen’s arm trapped, and outside of the cheap shot, nothing Halen can do can
get Kross from releasing it. Halen tosses Kross out of the ring, but Behrens is
there to discourage a Sexton cheap shot. Halen cuts of a Kross comeback and
lands a top rope elbow for a near fall. Kross lands drop lick to set up a
second rope moonsault for a near fall. Sexton grabs the foot of Kross to
prevent Kross from doing a move from the top rope. Behrens grabs Sexton, Sexton
kicks Bill away and Kross nails Sexton. Halen then hits what looks like a twist
of fate from the top for the pin at 6:08.
Thoughts: A good match, but apart from Kross’s entrance, the
crowd was subdued, IMO
Marv vs. CT Keys(c) for the SFCW Classics Championship
The first of the
four championships to be defended tonight. Marv brought the rabbit head to the
ring. The match was almost over before it begun when Keys almost pins Marv off
the bell. Marv trips up Keys to stop Key’s momentum and puts the hurt on Keys’
midsection. Keys fires up, holding his rib cage. Marv gets Keys into a crab for
a hot second, Keys’ rolls threw. Ref Weakley gets smushed, and that allows Marv
to clock Keys with the rabbit head and pick up the win at 9:12. New Classics
Champion, Marv and he walks to the back with title and head in hand.
Thoughts: This falls under the no surprise category. The
only question was how they got there.
Xavier Reyes vs. Jacob Ashworth(c) for the Anarchy
Heavyweight Championship
Reyes had taken some time off but has returned with a bigger
chip on his shoulder than what he had before. This match is another example of
the cross promotion co-operation that has been the norm lately. Ashworth got a
good pop from the crowd, Reyes got the jeers. Ref Radar showcases the Anarchy
title to the crowd. John Johnson will be handling the play by play for this
match. Both men attack the other’s arm to start the match. Reyes’s necklace
breaks and he’s upset about it. He tries to attack Ashworth but Jacob sends him
out of the ring. Reyes plays the delay game, Ashworth surprises him with a
chop. Reyes chokes his way to the advantage and they fall out of the ring.
Reyes shoves Ashworth into the turnbuckle support. Reyes gets a Peruvian Drop
for a near fall. Ashworth fires up and gets a near fall off of a sidewalk slam.
Ashworth is setting up and gets a full nelson, but Reyes powers out and slams
Ashworth down for a near fall. Reyes goes to plant Ashworth, but Ashworth rolls
him up and pins Reyes at 11:15. Still Anarchy Champion, Jacob Ashworth. After
the match, Reyes locks in some sort of sleeper hold on Ashworth and renders him
unconscious. Reyes throws the title strap down on Ashworth and leaves.
Thoughts: Good to see Reyes back. I thought this was a good
match up with the size and temperament of the men. I don’t remember seeing that
sleeper variant before, looks to be very effective.
Intermission.
The Approved ( Adrian Hawkins and Bobby Moore with Kelly
Sexton) vs. Happy Madness (Sal Rinauro and Sunny Daze)(c) for the SFCW Tag
Championship
Hawkins is SFCW’s
heat magnet, and also the best dressed wrestler in Georgia Wrestling. Adriana
chants are deafening. The surprising pairing of Rinauro and Daze from several
months ago, has set the Georgia scene abuzz. Sal’s antics with some balloons
and multiple trips about the barricade pressing the flesh get the crowd going. The
Approved tried to attack before the bell but were thwarted in their efforts.
Sunny airplane spins Sal into the Approved. Sunny is stalking Kelly ringside
and chases her to the back. Hawkins tries to sneak in a pin, but Sal rolled
through. Moore attacks Sunny in the entrance way. Moore and Hawkins have got
Sal isolated, with Moore running out to keep Sunny down in the entrance way.
The Approved’s game plan for the match is being executed flawlessly thus far,
Sal is getting punished. Sunny makes it to the ring apron, taking out Moore,
but Moore drags Sunny away before the hot tag from Sal. Moore sets Sal up top;
Sal bites then head-butts Moore off. Sal has his hope spot and gets the tag to
Sunny. Sunny takes out Moore and shoves Hawkins into the barricade. Sunny
continues to stalk Kelly ringside, fending off Hawkins and Moore. Hawkins hits
Moore by mistake when Sunny ducks. Sunny plants Hawkins for a near fall when
Moore pulls Sunny off the pin. Kelly’s up on the apron to distract both Sal and
Sunny, and Hawkins gets a near fall off of that. Hawkins stalks Sunny but a
Sunny head-butt leads to Hawkins getting pinned, but Hawkins foot was on the
rope, so the match continues. Hawkins hits the unprettier but only gets a near
fall on Sunny. Hawkins holds Sunny up for Moore’s discus elbow, Sunny ducks and
Sal sends Moore out of the ring. Sunny plants Hawkins and gets the pin at
14:28. The Approved attack after the match, laying out Sunny and Sal. They hold
up the belts, looking to use them as weapons. The Washington Bullets hit the
ring and chase them off. The Bullets are clapping for Sal and Sunny and then
suddenly attack them with a super kick to Sal and then taking out Sunny. The
Bullets pose with the belts and then leave the ring. The security guys and
referees have to help them to the back.
Thoughts: The crowd roared back to life for this match, must
have been a secret spice in the pit master’s grill. I thought the Bullets have
been in SFCW before, but don’t know for certain.
Main Event for the undisputed SFCW Heavyweight Championship:
Tetchi Makuji with Dr. Brock vs. Mikal Judas(c) with Todd Sexton
Judas beat Griff
Garrison at the last SFCW show to unify the two titles but will have a tough
test in another monster, Makuji. Johnson starts the intros but Sexton adds a
stip of No DQ to the match. Judas attacks Makuji during his intro and they are
fighting ringside. Judas is choking Makuji with his own ring attire. Makuji
fires back, slamming Judas into the barricades. Todd is waving at the bac; Billy
Buck and Nick Halen come out; Makuji spits mist into Halen’s face. Makuji
fights off Buck and goes back to Judas. Makuji has some blood on his chest, not
sure where it came from. Judas dodges a chop and Makuji’s hand hits the ring
post. Judas targets the hand and Sexton slam a chair onto it. Judas waffles
Makuji’s back with the chair and climbs into the ring. Brock and Weakley are
checking on Makuji and Judas attacks the hand again. Brock attacks Judas with
his shoe to no effect, Brock runs away. Judas stomps Makuji around the world
but Makuji kicks out of the pin attempt. Judas is using Makuji’s torso as a
punching bag. Makuji’s tries to fight back using his left hand and his head.
Makuji sets up for a second rope superplex, hits it, but can’t cover. Makuji
wants to use Tongan death grip using the injured hand but Judas is able to yank
it away. Judas grabs Makuji by the throat, Makuji mists him.
Brock’s back out and
tapes up Makuji’s hand. Makuji’s chopping away using the left hand. Was that a
shinning wizard by Makuji? It got him a near fall. Makuji has the death grip
locked in, but the rest of the Alliance is out, Makuji’s fights them off. Judas
uses the title on Makuji’s hand and then hits Makuji in the head several times
with the belt before Makuji goes down. Judas pins Makuji at 14:45.
The Alliance
celebrates in the ring, but Makuji gets Moore by the throat. The Alliance
attacks Makuji again and Judas chokeslams him with some help. They hold Makuji
up while Judas is setting up for something. Dr. Brock grabs a chair and gets
into the ring. Sexton’s begging Brock to swing at him, Kelly sneaks up from
behind and clocks Brock. Sexton then pile drives Brock. This brings out the
faces from the back. Manders is on the mic and on August 7th, at Ultimate
Battleground, Manders will be face to face with Sexton in the ring for a
discussion on how to end things between them.
Thoughts: A wild ending to a darn good match. Attacking
Makuji’s hand through out the match was brilliant and Makuji sold the hell out
of it.
Final Thoughts:
Overall a good show. The crowd was subdued for a couple of
the early matches, but reached the typical SFCW fever pitch after intermission.
The word underrated is tossed around like Mardi Gras beads
these days, but I think Makuji is more overlooked than anything else.
With Manders’ facial hair, he could be Ashworth’s father.
Is it just me, or does it seem that there might be something
off with Kross and Behrens?
Still amazed by how fast Sal and Sunny have gotten over with
the crowd.
Stryk Nyn got done dirty. What will the consequences be?
Marv had a good day. Keys, not so much.
Adrian Hawkins and Bobby Moore could get Ed Gein and John
Wayne Gacy over.
Heel Bullets > Face Bullets
Judas presses his case to be the best everything in Georgia.
The next several months are going to be must see viewing.
