WWE Hall of Famer and 16-Time World Champion "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair will return to Puerto Rico for WWC's 49th Anniversary Show on Saturday, August 6th at the Historic Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum in Bayamon Flair will be managing Current AEW Superstar and son-In-Law Andrade (fka La Sombra in CMLL and in WWE as Andrade Cien Almas). as he takes on former WWE Superstar Carlito Caribbean Cool. Flair last appeared in WWC at their 13th Anniversary Show on September 21, 1986 as he fought against Invader #1, when WWC was a member of the NWA.
Andrade recently married Ric's daughter former WWE Raw and SmackDown! Women's Champion Charlotte Flair. So It won't be a surprise if Charlotte is also in Bayamon on August 6th, and hopefully WWC Vice President and WWE Hall of Famer Carlos Colon with sister Stacy will be at the Anniversary Show as well. Here are the Interviews from Flair and Colon with their match in 1982 where both the NWA and the now defunct WWC World Titles were on the line to merge into the then newly created WWC Universal Championship in a 60 minute match, His match against the late Hercules Ayala at WWC's 12th Anniversary Show and in their 13th Anniversary Show in 1986 as he defends the NWA World Championship (the then newly created Big Gold that was used throughout NWA, WCW and in WWE's Raw and SmackDown! brands) against Invader #1. WWC is proving to all the naysayers through their toughest times, from Hurricane Maria in 2017 to the COVID crisis in 2020, that WWC is still number one on the Island for 49 Years.

First round matches for the 2022 Scenic City Invitational's two night event on Friday August 5th and Saturday August 6th at Soddy Daisy High School in Soddy Daisy (north of Chattanooga) have been announced. 2022 Scenic City Rumble winner Bilie Starkz will square off against 2021 Action Futures Showcase Tournament winner Robert Martyr and MLW Superstar Myron Reed will face Eli Knight. The Futures Showcase produced by Action Wrestling and Scenic City Invitational will take place on August 6th with a 2 pm bell time, featuring JPWA graduate and TWE regular "Tennessee Sunshine" Billy Tipton, Carolinas standout "Starboy" BK Westbrook, the "Babushka Baron" Jeffrey John from Ohio, and Kentucky's own heavyweight "Head of the Pack" Lobo Okami as your first four entrants. I would like to remember two former WWE referees who have passed away on Father's Day weekend, Dave Hebner (Earl's twin brother and Brian Hebner's Uncle) and Tim White. both of these distinguished referees were a huge part of WWE's success from the boom of Wrestlemania, all the way through the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression eras. After a knee replacement surgery, Hebner retired from being a referee and became a road agent until July 2005. He left WWE and refereed for Impact Wrestling until 2012, and in Mid Missouri Wrestling Association from 2012 to this year as manager for The Lumberjacks. Sadly, Dave Hebner suffered from Parkinson's Disease. White worked from 1985 all the way until 2009 after almost 25 years as a referee, backstage producer as well as assisting talent.
