From Larry Goodman:
While every wrestler in Georgia sits at their shows tonight with the ProSouth livestream in their lap, just like half their audience, Ace Haven is wondering what's next for ProSouth?
Great question. House of Harley has completely collapsed. Former ProSouth Champion Brandon Whatley was suspended. Current ProSouth Champion Aaron Dallas was not at the ProSouth Palace either, which has rarely happened during the past year. Certain members of the ProSouth locker room haven't exactly enamored themselves with certain wrestlers in Georgia.
ProSouth went with their bread and butter - Ace and Amy Haven's war with Shean Christopher and Ravenna Vein. Ravenna Pearl-harbored Ravenna. Ace cut a take no prisoners promo during which he addressed the controversy about "things said in private" before challenging Shean Christopher to a last man standing match at Spring Spectacular.
It was also a night of upsets.
Both halves of the tag team champions were defeated in singles action.
After being knocked out of Trinity Cup in the semifinal round last week, Atonement took an L to an unheralded duo on this week and are fraying at the edges.
YouTube Champion Caeden Ooten was pinned by number one contender Chris Kamikaze in the tornado trios main event that was the best in-ring of the show.
ProSouth make their Georgia debut on May 11 in at the RCW Arena in Chatsworth with the aptly named The Devil Went Down in Georgia. Spring Spectacular show was announced for May 31.
Wicked Nemesis and Mathias Darkthorne provided the commentary. Somebody please take the replay button away from them. Adam Hunter officiated all five matches. Joseph Void and Katy Lindsey were the ring announcers. Props to Lindsey on her work with the rover camera.
(1) Julius Pryor defeated Saul Wright in 6:12. Wright seemed to have on answer for Pryor's Kung Fu karate and was getting taken to the cleaners. Out of nowhere, Saul took Pryor's head off with the Johnny Paycheck lariat. Wright was slow to make one-arm cover and Pryor got a foot on the ropes. Pryor didn't know which end was up but somehow mounted a comeback and pinned Wright with double Shaolin fists to the stomach off the top rope.
I really like the Bruce Lee stylings Pryor has injected into offense. It doesn't all look good yet but some of his stuff looked great. He's doing martial arts like his mentor Whatley but with a different spin. The sound of Wright's lariat making contact was amazing. Pryor's finishing move reads more impressive than it looked.
Ozzy Owens video promo. Ozzy said the fans turned their backs on him in favor of Bobcat and Jake Franklin, but Harley Haven saw his potential, so he joined House of Harley because he thought that was his ticket. He stuck with the plan, HOH failed at Trinity due to his partners. He was coming for Ooten's title and he had not forgotten about Christian Garrett. "I'm the man of The House now."
There's something scary about a big man like Ozzy speaking calmly and quietly while he seething rage is palpable below the surface. What does all this mean for Harley? She's been silently off TV for the last two weeks.
(2) Tsunami defeated "The Southern Outlaw" Sean Nelson in 5:48. Tsunami kicked out of Nelson's draping DDT, evaded his leg drop off the ropes and launched a comeback. As Tsunami was going for a hangman's neckbreaker, Nelson grabbed the ref's collar to stay upright. Tsunami switched to a roll up to pick up the win.
The impetus for Tsunami's win over former ProSouth tag team champion Nelso would soon be obvious. The finish was the best facet of the match which is always a good thing.
Ace Haven promo. Ace likened the microphone in his hand to a guillotine because whoever he was directing it at, it would be off with their heads.
-- There was a lot of talk over in Georgia. He was always a day behind and dollar short on that bullcrap because while everyone else was focused on what he was doing at ProSouth, he was doing the same.
-- As for things said in private, there was no need for Nancy Drew to investigate who he didn't like because he was going to tell you whether you want to know or not. If you thought he was mad at you, he probably was but if you thought he cared, he couldn't give a damn.
-- "If everyone in my life that every said they were going to run up on Ace Haven did, I'd be trampled by now and there's not footprint one on me....If you have beef with me I'm not a hard man to find."
His focus was on Shean Christopher.
-- Shean spent a good chunk of his career being a lapdog. Being submissive to another man once is embarrassing enough but Shean had done it a couple of time and if Shean got in the ring with him, he could make it a trilogy.
-- "If I die right here in the ring, my legacy lives on because I trained everyone in this state that matters to begin with." They have the DNA of Ace Haven flowing through them and that's why I'm the King of the South and your just Lord of Flies.
-- The greatest fight Shean everyone won in his career didn't happen in a ring, it happened outside and nobody saw it.
Ace concluded by adding the sizzle to Spring Spectacular -- Ace vs. Shean, last man standing.
Ace's Last Hero persona is a differen kind of babyface because he's also an egotistical fuck. He shot hard and said things that would have been better off left unsaid but he also promoted a big match.
(3) Douglas Sanders & Roma Miller defeated Atonement (All-Out Champion Ayden Andrews & Christian Pierce) in 12:36. Pierce and Sanders wrestled. Dameon Ceretone came to ringside. Sanders executed a double gator roll on Atonement Miller and Sanders did basement dropkicks that were kinda in stereo. Atonement gave Sanders a double knees to back/german suplex combination. Death by chops ensued from for Mr. Sanders. Kitchen sink driver and the Southern Spike by Pierce. Sanders finally hit a snap powerslam to get to the tag.
Pierce made an unsolicited tag that got him sideways with his partners. Pierce then walked into a superkick from Roma and Sanders pinned him with a top rope elbow drop.
Andrews and Pierce are so far and away the superior team the outcome was tough to buy. Andrews' All-Out Championship has been lost in the shuffle. Sanders' double gator roll was preposterous. He took a ferocious beating and sold his ass off as per usual. Not a fan of another heel faction suffering from dissension on the heels of the House of Harley implosion. Other than that, this was a fine match.
Flashback Friday brought to you by the RobBrod Report: Highlights of the Trinity Challenge Cup finals won by Chosen Justice (Ace Haven & Cameron Keast & Tyler Gage). Keast became the first three time winner of the Trinity Cup.
Commissioner Amy was starting to talk about ProSouth's upcoming events when Ravenna appeared to come from under the ring to attack her from behind. Amy went down hard. Her mic went flying. Tsunami came to Amy's defense. Ravenna was pissed about that. Amy announced Ravenna vs. Tsunami for Spring Spectacular.
Loved the staging of the sneak attack. The shot Ravenna gave Amy looked great. Ravenna vs. Tsunami is out of the blue but they've got a few weeks to develop it.
(4) "The Southeastern Bully" Hakeem Young defeated Bobcat in 6:34. Bobcat did not take kindly to Young's disrespect. "The Big City Kitty" used Hakeem's bandana to choke him :). Not the best idea to brawl with Young outside the ring though, Young draped Bobcat over the barricade to deliver a running knee. Young obscenely taunted Bobcat with his tag belts. Bob cat-scratched Hakeem to soften him up for a sunset powerbom and both were down. Rally time. Bobcat tried for a huracanrana and got powerbombed into oblivion.
OK enough for a six minute TV match. I like what Young brings to the table. He's good brawler.
Keast came out to be the third combatant on the heroes team instead of Ace. Keast said this wasn't Ace ducking Christopher. This was Cam picking his own fight with Ceretone and he also called in a favor from his other Haven friend to make it a tornado tag so they could have the fight they all knew they wanted to have. Dameon forearmed Cam in the mouth and they were off and running...
(5) Cameron Keast & Chris Kamikaze & Jake Franklin defeated "Lord of Flies" Shean Christopher & YouTube Champion "Sleazy C" Caeden Ooten & "Champion of Champions" Dameon Ceretone in a trios tornado tag match when Kamikaze pinned Ooten at 13:55. Six-way action segued to signature move on top of signature move by everybody. Ceretone brought the Plungeline out of mothballs. Kamikaze used a half and half suplex. Ceretone gave Kamikaze a uniquely sick top rope double stomp to his damaged back and laughed.
Ooten tried for Loaded Gun Complex on Kamikaze, who countered with the Danger Zone (Olympic slam) pinned the champion with a 450 splash.
This action-packed spotfest was a great trios follow up to Trinity. The heels were in control almost the entire way before Kamikaze snatched a babyface victory from the jaws of defeat by scoring a decisive pinfall on the YouTube Champion. I smell a title change.
