From Larry Goodman:
Anarchy Wrestling returned to action at the Anarchy Arena Saturday night as the build towards Fright Night 2014 continued. With only the October 11 TV taping remaining before Fright Night, the details of the card are yet to be revealed.
What is known is that for the first time ever in Cornelia, every match will be contested inside a steel cage. The special guest is TNA star Gunner. Corey Hollis returns. That is all the extent of the information made available to the public.
Last night’s taping featured the high work rate style typical of the wrestling at Anarchy. The talent lineup was the usual mix of mainly young and hungry competitors with a sprinkling of veterans in key spots.Several of Anarchy’s most renowned wrestlers – Slim J, Azrael, Shaun Tempers and Shadow Jackson were not present. All four titles were contested with none changing hands. The heavyweight title match between Champion BJ Hancock and Stryknyn was the best of the lot.
Cornelia wrestling has a well-deserved rep of being the place to be for young talent wanting to advance. Anarchy's current lack of infrastructure make that a formidable task. A prime example of this is the absence of video vignettes and consequent limited opportunities for character development via promos.

The football season attendance malaise deepened. I sure hope that’s all it is. My head count was 65. That’s a depressingly low number near the bottom of the range for the 15 year history of the venue. Not good any way you cut it.
CB Suave said Slim J was running him down for costing him title when in reality J got beat by better man. Suave called J out. …and got Kevin Blue instead.
(1)CB Suave defeated Kevin Blue in 8:46. A fast paced opener with both men looking sharp. Blue was handing Suave his ass until CB sent his face into the post. Suave did a swivel hips into a senton backsplash for two. Blue fired up and got his eyes raked. Suave stayed on the attack with a hanging vertical suplex and a can opener sub. Blue answered with a nice suplex combo. Suave’s tornado DDT was strange. Not sure what happened there. A battle of backslides decided by Blue's signature swinging neckbreaker. Blue nailed Suave with a corner Yakuza kick and went for his finisher, but Suave escaped and blinded Blue with a rope burn to the eyes. Suave then pinned Blue with his spinning snapmare driver. A fast paced opener with both men looking sharp. Suave is primed and ready for a feud with Slim. Let the games begin.
(2) William Huckaby & Joe Black defeated Nemesis in a handicap match at 6:05. Nemesis said Shadow Jackson had important business but UAS never backed down from a fight. Nemesis gave it his all, including busting out a wild and crazy tope and Shadow’s stunner before succumbing to the odds. Nemesis was pinned after getting hit with a double whammy. Huckaby has gotten into much better shape.
Postmatch, Nemesis got a hearty round of applause for his gallant effort as security helped him to the back.
(3) Joey Rhymer (with Miss Rachael) defeated Jeremy Foster.to retain the Anarchy Young Lion’s Championship in 6:40. Rachael was sporting a black eye from her match with Nina Monet at PCW last week. Rhymer mocked Foster’s selfies. They opened amateur style for a refreshing change. Foster’s arm drag sequence looked fine. Rhymer’s offense is so much better. He needs to lose those moments where he looks half speed. Rhymer called for a “selfie suplex” and Foster turned that into a northern lights suplex. Foster applied a grounded crossface chickenwing. Rhymer got to the ropes with Rachael’s help. They traded close near falls for a neat build to the finish. Rhymer tried for his finisher and got nailed with Foster’s flying knee. Referee Dee Byers counted three before seeing Rhymer’s foot on the ropes (placed there by Rachael). Byers waved off the bell. Rhymer capitalized on the confusion with his springboard knee to the face for the 1-2-3. A perfectly decent match. Since Anarchy insists on having this title, it’s good to see them getting back to the original intent of elevating young talent.
(4) Washington Bullets (Jon & Trey Williams) defeated Mikael Judas & Geter via count out in 10:45 after Jeff G. Bailey blinded Judas with the powder. The Bullets’ bravado went south in a hurry when they saw who their opponents were. Their 2 on 1 blitz on Judas was an epic fail. Jon wanted none of Geter and tagged his bro. Trey had brief success with stick and move but crumbled after taking two of Geter’s chops. Trey scramble out from under Geter’s leaping splash. After seeing his life pass before his eyes, Trey was ready to call it quits. The Bullets’ double team strategy on Judas finally succeeded. Credit Judas with taking the punishment in just the right way to make it believable and some great timing by the Bullets on the double teams. Judas made a massive comeback but Trey pulled the ropes down to spill him to the outside. With the ref’s attention elsewhere, Bailey ran out and scored a perfect bullseye with the powder. Judas couldn’t see a thing. It was the most entertaining match of the night. Hail to the Bullets. They had the desperate times call for desperate measures vibe down to a T, but Judas’ selling had to be spot on to make it work as well as it did.
The Bullets did a quickie celebration and made a hasty exit before Judas could get to his feet.
(5) BJ Hancock (with Miss Rachael) defeated Stryknyn to retain the Anarchy Heavyweight Championship in 12:36. Hancock attacked before the bell to gain a fleeting advantage. All Stryk for the next few minutes. Stryk took a chest bump into the buckles while on the ring apron (that was different) and tumbled to the floor. Stryk struggled to beat the 10 count and the champion was all over him with ruthless aggression. Rachael got involved. Stryk Juggaloed up but Hancock cut him off with the move of the night – the high knee. Stryk’s waterwheel slam left both men down and the comeback was coming up. When Stryk coiled for the spear, Hancock wisely rolled to the apron. Stryk got the tourniquet cinched in but Hancock made the ropes with an assist from Rachael. Hancock escaped the FFD and tried for the piledriver, but Stryk countered with the FFD. Rachael jumped up the distract the ref from Lars Manderson’s attempt to interfere. Billy Buck cut off Manderson and as they battled to the back, Rhymer ran in from the other side with a springboard knee and got speared out of midair by Stryk. All of this gave Hancock the recovery time he needed. Piledriver coming. Nope. Reversed with a jackknife pin for a close near fall. Stryk tried for the spear again, Hancock neatly sunset flipped to counter it and hit the piledriver for the pin. This match had the intensity of a real fight, like something truly important was at stake and the execution was first rate. Best match of the night.
(6) Billy Buck defeated Lars Manderson (with Miss Rachael) in 3:35. They battled down the ramp with their fight at the end of previous match still in progress. Manderson used his size and power to dominate, but he ran his mouth too much and ate a superkick from Buck. .
Afterward, Manderson left Buck lying with a falcon arrow while Hancock applauded from the ramp.
(7) Trevor Aeon & Jacob Ashworth defeated El Grande Laredo & Supernatural in 3:26. Aeon and Ashworth jumped the bell when the luchadores stupidly turned their backs to play to the crowd. Laredo took the heat. Aeon and Ashworth have zero in common and it showed with uninvited tags and sour faces. Super connected with a top rope double stomp, but Ashworth blocked his Sliced Bread #2 and got the pin with a vicious ropes-mounted roll of the dice. The sick finish was memorable. Disappointing that they didn’t follow up better on Aeon’s character, and they need to find one for Ashworth.
(8) Anarchy TV Champion Tommy Penirelli and.”The Five Star King” Anthony Henry went to a 10 minute time limit draw. The returning Henry is in the best shape of his young life. Henry bailed after taking a high backdrop. Penirelli was chomping at the bit, but his enthusiasm got the best of him, as Henry shrewdly pulled Penirelli’s feet off the ropes to dump him hard. Henry went on to control the body of the match. On the comeback, Penirelli’s grip slipped on the overhead belly to belly suplex and it was a mess, ending up more like a spike belly to belly. Penirelli got the ankle lock but Henry powered out. Henry tried for the cloverleaf and Penirelli countered with a small package. Henry hit a killer powerslam and went up for the frogsplash. Penirelli cut him off with a superplex. They traded big forearms shots. Henry pulled Penirelli off the ropes with a dragon screw and had the cloverleaf locked in when the time limit expired. Good match. It was clear that Henry is the better wrestler of the two, but Penirelli has come a long way and didn’t look out place.
When Henry tried for a postmatch cheap shot, Penirelli caught him with the ankle lock. The rematch is set for Fright Night.
Time for the Old School Debate between “New Face of Old School” Mike Posey and Brodie Ray Chase moderated by Bill Behrens. Posey sat with his feet up on the table. They gave opening statements listing their credentials. Posey said he was changing the definition of old school, and guys like Chase were holding him back from being in WWE and ROH. Furthermore, Anarchy owner Franklin Dove was too busy marking out for Ric Flair’s daughter to give him a heavyweight title rematch. Chase said Posey couldn’t handle the truth – Pro wrestling is a fight. The problem is the flippy-flying-get my moves mentality, and the only one holding Posey back is Posey. The table got flipped over. Behrens announced a match for October 11 that will include Buck and Stryknyn to determine the heavyweight title challenger at Fright Night. Behrens made the reveal of the 100% cage match card for Fright Night. Posey got the last word by taking a chair to Brodie’s knee. The debate was OK for what it was. It didn’t run too long which would have been death. But what’s up with putting Posey and Chase in the title mix? I get that they’re both former champions. I don’t get diluting the best story Anarchy has.
(9) Todd Sexton & Bobby Moore defeated The Elite (Iceberg & Jagged Edge) in a streetfight to retain the Anarchy Tag Team Championship in 11 minutes. The streetfight aspect was unadvertised. Bailey explained that the Elite nearly beat the champions into unconsciousness the last time but they got DQed, so he got Dove to agree to settle it with a streetfight. In the hopes of selling more tickets for Fright Night I guess. This was a wild and crazy match. They brawled all over the ringside area. Sexton was bleeding from the nose. Iceberg bled heavily from the forehead. Sexton got hurled into the announcer’s booth and also took a backdrop on the hardwood floor. There was funny spot where Sexton gave Berg a can of beer as a peace offering. As Berg started to drink up, Sexton kicked him in the nuts and the champions smashed him in the head with the beer cans. Moore gave Jagged a DVD and got out of the way as Berg splashed his partner on the save attempt. The champions got Jagged in a double crossface so Bailey pulled the ref out. Berg splashed Sexton and Moore pulled the ref out. Moore loaded the elbow pad and connected with a pair of discus elbows, but Bailey saved with a Gucci shoe to the head. Sexton then put Bailey in the crossface. The save by the Elite proved to be more painful than the hold. Jagged had Sexton goozled for a chokeslam when the lights went out…lights on and there was Judas in the ring with a chokeslam on Jagged. The champions covered Jagged while Geter kept Iceberg at bay. If this whirlwind was a taste of what can be expected at Fright Night, the Anarchy fans would be advised to buckle their seat belts for a violent ride.
