As Fright Night inches ever closer, the entire Anarchy roster set out to solidify their spot on the card for the scariest night on the Anarchy calendar. It was a crisp fall night in North Georgia, but the action inside the confines of the historic Landmark Arena was hotter than any Georgia July day.
WILL KAUTION DEF. KENJI BREA FOR THE LANDMARK ARENA HERITAGE TITLE
Will Kaution has had his share of ups and downs since his Anarchy debut earlier this year. Kenji Brea had been on an upswing since winning the Landmark Heritage Championship back on September 2nd at an NCW event. He has victories over Slim J and Sal Rinauro in recent weeks. In this match-up Kaution showed some flashes of offensive brilliance that rocked Brea early on. However, Brea would soon turn to his unorthodox offensive strikes to turn the tide in his favor. Brea would toy with Kaution for the majority of the match, but one misstep led to Kaution being able to get the roll-up and pin on Brea. The new champion would not have very long to celebrate as an outraged Brea would launch a sadistic attack on Kaution. After several knee strikes, Brea set a chair up in the corner and laid the prone Kaution against it. With malice in his eyes and destruction on his brain he set out to injure the new champion, but Xander Ramon would make the save and chase Brea away. There was a brief but intense moment where Ramon looked at the Heritage championship, but he handed it to Kaution and congratulated the new champion.
Jason Boyd introduced matchmaker Dan Wilson to the Landmark Arena crowd. Dan said he had two major announcements. First up was a more personal one. After 18 plus years in the Landmark Arena, Wilson announced his retirement. The crowd showed an immense amount of respect for Wilson who had done it all in the Landmark Arena (editors commentary: Dan Wilson will and should always be regarded as one of the greatest play-by-play voices in all of professional wrestling. But not only that, he transitioned into one of the all-time great managers in the sport. And even more after walking away as a ringside manager, he once again transitioned into one of the best behind the scenes figures in the sport. His eye for talent and his years of knowledge has helped craft the youth movement in Anarchy today. He is a figure that will be sorely missed; by the fans, the talent, and the sport itself. We have no doubt that in his new adventures Dan will contribute and excel as greatly as he has in wrestling)
Next, Dan called out Jacob Ashworth and Brad Cash. He announced that the Anarchy board of directors would not sanction the match between Ashworth and Cash, but he had gotten approval to sign a Lights Out match, and as his last act he was going to make sure this match happens at Fright Night. In order to preserve the match, he had made both men agree to no contact for the evening. Wilson was not done he had two more announcements. First he was disbanding the Cult of Cash, and he was banning anyone from ringside at Fright Night. Cash and Ashworth took turns throwing verbal jabs, but you could feel the tension in the air. This blood feud all started at Fright Night 2017 and it is all going to end at Fright Night 2018.
TEAM TAG DEFEATED GB1C VIA DQ
Billy Buck and Kevin Blue challenged Tyler Rivera and Wolverton for their newly won Anarchy Tag Team Championships. Rivera and Wolverton won the titles from Marcus Kross and Seth Delay two weeks ago. Both of these teams put on a clinic of tag team wrestling. GB1C used quick tags in and out to disorient Team TAG. It looked like Team TAG was going to win the tag team titles after Blue hit Out of the Blue, but interference from Matthew Hankins’ New Threat of Geter, Brian Blaze, and Shane Marx ended the match with a disqualification win for Team TAG. This would net Blue and Buck the winner’s share of the purse, but not the tag titles. GB1C slinked out with their belts, as a brawl broke out between The New Threat and Team TAG who were joined by their third member, TV Champion Chris Spectra. It ended with Hankins proclaiming that Marx was here to bring the TV Title home.
XANDER RAMON DEFEATED CHOP TOP
Xander Ramon looked impressive as he dominated his match up with Chop Top. Chop Top would attempt an offensive comeback, but Ramon was able to use the Pitfall to gain the victory.
SAL RINAURO AND GRIFF GARRISON ENDED IN A NO CONTEST
Truthfully, this match never even began. Before Jason Boyd’s introduction was even finished, Rinauro grabbed the microphone. He began berating Garrison and claiming he knew Griff was behind the attacks from GB1C. Rinauro even called Rivera and Wolverton out, claiming he knew they were right around the corner waiting to help Griff. GB1C stood side by side with Griff and Rinauro said he would take on all 3. GB1C lunged for Rinauro, but turned their attack to Griff, who was as stunned and shocked as anyone. Rinauro orchestrated the attack on Garrison, directing traffic. Soon Marcus Kross appeared and was attacked for his efforts. Rinauro called for Kross and laid an all-out vicious assault on him. Seth Delay rushed to ringside and met face to face with Rinauro. Rinauro called off any attack and began talking to Delay about joining him. Delay was having none of that and punched Rinauro. GB1C attacked Delay. Rinauro hit Delay with a kneeling flatliner, but then immediately embraced Delay. Rinauro was apologizing and seemingly in tears over attacking his friend. It was a surreal scene and there will be more about this in the days to come.
SHANE MARX (WITH MATTHEW HANKINS) DEFEATED CHRIS SPECTRA TO WIN THE TV TITLE
Hankins introduced Marx earlier in the evening as the newest member of the New Threat. Marx last appeared in Anarchy back in 2016, and tonight he would be challenging for the Anarchy TV Title. Spectra was still riding a high wave since winning the TV title two weeks ago. Spectra was able to hold his own against Marx who is regarded as one of the best in the region. Geter and Blaze appeared at ringside. Spectra was seemingly on his way to a win, but Geter got involved and this brought out Team TAG. With the referee distracted Hankins got involved and hit Spectra with his “satchel” giving Marx the victory and the Anarchy Television Championship. Afterwards, Blue got the microphone and laid out two challenges for Fright Night. First he challenged the new TV champion to a title match, and then challenged Geter and Blaze to face Spectra and Buck. The challenges were answered and we have two more exciting matches set for Fright Night.
The night ended with Anarchy Champion, Logan Creed coming to the ring. He addressed his perceived lack of competition in Anarchy. He said that everyone they have thrown in front of him is beneath him, and that it was so bad they had to go and dig up the past and bring back Judas. The lights went out and this brought the Priest of Punishment out. After an intense stare down, Judas grabbed Creed by the throat. Creed also grabbed ahold of Judas. The lights would go out again and Stryknyn would appear and spear Logan Creed. Stryknyn then grabbed the microphone and told Creed the biggest mistake Creed ever made was leaving him breathing. Stryknyn then turned his attention to Judas and told him that he was able to take every bit of the Priest of Punishment's arsenal and still kept on coming. Stryknyn then asked the simple question, “Do I have your attention now?” to which Bill Behrens responded, “yes you do.” Behrens then added Stryknyn to the Anarchy title match at Fright Night between Logan Creed and Mikael Judas.
