WrestleMerica
Academy Gym, Barnesville, GA
Scheduled matches: Tyson Dean v Vordell Walker in a Bounty match, O'Shay Edwards v The Monster Pain in a taped fist match, Clyde Braddock v Dax Anthony w Eira. If Clyde loses, he must lace up Dax's boots, If Clyde wins, Eira becomes his valet. Special Challange: 400 lb Pure Goodness w Ryan North v John Saxon. Scotty Beach v Simon Sermon. Ashton Slaughter v Dominique Stuckey. Plus Dementia D'Rose and more!
2 rows of ringside seats hold 124 plus bleachers seats, right now I would say there's about 75 paid. Iceberg was scheduled to be here but due to an upcoming surgery, he had to cancel. Dean/Walker looks to be a 5-star match. Simon always entertains. Braddock/Anthony is an interesting matchup, some stuff that's been posted on social media has been worthy of a soap opera. More people have arrived. I would put the crowd at around 110.
Ring announcer Ben Masters recaps prior happenings and previews upcoming shows.
(Editor's note: It never ceases to amaze me what a piss poor job most promotions do in this area.)
(Editor's note: It never ceases to amaze me what a piss poor job most promotions do in this area.)
First match: Ashton Slaughter v Dominque Stuckey
Stuckey is over with the crowd here. Slaughter, who hails from Mobile, has a size and strength advantage that he uses right off the bell with forearms and chops that the sounds of which reverbs around the building. Stuckey responding with kicks until a lariat levels him. Slaughter picks Stuckey for a gorilla press but then just drops him face first, gets a 2 count. Stucky tries for a comeback but a big boot sends him crashing down. Heel tactics by Slaughter. Stuckey gets some offense in and goes up top and hits a leg drop from the top rope but is too slow in covering. Slaughter gets in a powerslam for a near fall. Slaughter throws Stuckey into the corner but Stuckey moves out of the way when Slaughter rushes in. Stuckey rolls up Slaughter for the 3 count. Time: 7:33. The crowd is hot for Stuckey and Slaughter gives a double one-finger salute to the crowd on his way out. A good match for a hot crowd to start with.
Second match: Nina Monet v Dementia D'Rose
The crowd loves them some WOAD. D'rose uses the WOAD very effectively in the early going, Nina doesn't know what to do with it. Chops to the throat and kicks to the midsection give Nina the advantage. Nina focusing on Dementia's back. Nina kicks Dementia in the hiney and that starts Dementia's comeback. She tries for the WOAD but Nina moves. Nina back on the attack. Nina sets in a Boston Crab. She loses a leg and Dementia makes the ropes. Dementia trying to bring her greatest asset into play but Nina is avoiding it thus far. Dementia avoids a Nina rush and hits the WOAD for the win. Time: 9:18
Third match: "The Exotic One" Simon Sermon v The Good Brother" Scotty Beach
Simon wishes everyone a happy Gay Pride weekend. He grabs a table and turns it on its side and hide behind it and attacks Scotty on the way out. Simon slams Scotty's head onto a chair and then body slams him on the concrete. Simon sets up a chair across the groin area and slams another chair across the first chair. Simone choking Scotty with the barricade rope. Simon rushes at Scotty and Scotty backflips Simon onto the concrete. Match still hasn't started. Scotty nails Simon twice with a chair. He goes for a third shot but Simon punches him in the gut. Simon suplexes Scotty and gets him into the ring. The match starts. Simon all over Scotty. Action back outside for a quick spot then back inside. A couple of near falls on Scotty. Simone misses a Stinger splash to start Scotty's comeback. Simon nails Scotty ad sends him down. Some guy in a lifeguard outfit comes out. Simon chokes him and then shoves him into Scotty. Simon nails Scotty with the flotation device and Scotty is counted out. Time: 3:30, total action time was about 10 minutes. The lifeguard and the ref help Scotty to the back. A fantastically brutal attack by Simon.
Intermission -- Simon comes back out and grabs the mic from Ben and runs down Scotty. He challenges Scotty to a specialty match that Dusty Rhodes made famous, a Texas Bull rope match for the Nov 10th show. IMO: I've heard it said by other people, and I would agree: Scotty should issue the challenge here.
Fourth match: Dax Anthony (with Eira) v Clyde Braddock
The teenyboppers love them some Dax, the rest of the crowd, not so much. If Dax wins, Clyde has to lace up Dax's boots. If Clyde wins, he gets the service of Eira ( who is a tatted up goth lady) and that he promises that he will turn her into a lady. Dax mouths off to start the match, Clyde takes him down and the action spills out of the ring. Dax attacks upon re-entry but Clyde shakes it off. Clyde working over Dax's left arm which has a bunch of KT tape on it. Dax catches Cylde with a Euro uppercut then a lariat. Dax rubbing Clyde's face up and down his boots. Clyde counters with a belly to belly for a 2 count. Dax attacking the face of Clyde. Eira gets in the ring with a chair, she tries to do something with it but the ref grabs the chair. Dax yells at her and she leaves the ring. Clyde plants Dax with a spine buster for a two count. Dax back to the eye of Clyde(Clyde's eye being damaged at a previous show). Clyde tosses Dax with a gut wrench but Dax gets a foot on the rope to foil the 3 count. Dax up on the top rope for a reverse splash but Clyde rolls onto his side so Dax didn't get the full effect. Eira did something, couldn't see what from my angel. Clyde on a hot streak. He has Dax pinned but Eira pulls the ref away from the count. Clyde having words with the ref. Clyde sets in the corner for a spear but Dax grabs the ref into Clyde's path. Dax hits a superkick but no ref to make the 3 count. Eira back into the ring with the chair and lands a shot on Clyde. Dementia hits the ring and sets Eira down in the corner and gives her the WOAD. Dax into Dementia's face. Clyde rolls up Dax for the 3 count from the substitute ref. Time 14:26. Clyde carries Eira out of the ring area and to the back. Dax is having a hissy fit in the ring. A good match but some of the spots with Eira didn't make much sense.
Ryan North promo: He comes out holding two championships: WrestleMerica and Bulletproof. Claims that the upper management is after him and his clients. Music hits and John Saxon comes out. Says that he's due for a title shot. He's not PC and he's unhappy. North says that time has passed Saxon by. Pure Goodness sneaks into the ring and blindsides Saxon.
Fifth match: Pure Goodness (with Ryan North) v John Saxon
the bell rings and PG focuses on the leg of Saxon. PG is a big guy. Acton heads out of the ring and into the ringside seats. The ref counts both men out. Time 3:31. both men are still wailing away at each other using what's ever handy. I had to move. PG on a gimmick table. North hits Saxon and Saxon turns his attention to him. PG attacks Saxon and locks in a choke hold and Saxon's out. Saxon looks like he's legit hurt his leg but he walks it off.
Sixth match: Taped Fist match with 3-minute rounds, last man standing wins. O'Shay Edwards v "The Monster" Pain
After a brief feeling out process, O'Shay gets Pain into the corner but Pain fights out of it. Both men landing some heavy blows early and both get knocked down. O'shay landing some stiff rights. First round ends on a 5 count on pain. O'Shay mouthing off to Pain. Right off the bell, Pain lands a monster right and Oshay is down for a 9 count. Pain lands another right and the count is on another 9 count. O'shay pokes Pain in the eye and lands a roundhouse. Pain is up at 7. O'Shay lands a right hand to the back of Pains head. Up at 8. O'Shay going for body blows now and Pain retaliates. The second round ends. Both men are aching but want to continue. O'Shay doesn't wait for the bell and lays out Pain and wants the ref to start counting but the round hasn't started yet. The bell rings and the count is on. O'shay reaching into his tights for something. Pain up at 9. Pain ducks O'shay's loaded fist and when O'Shay turns around Pain knocks him out. Ref stops the match due to O'Shay being unconscious. Pain wins in the third round at the 1: 20. Total match time: 7:25. O'Shay is punch drunk and staggers about the ring and back to the dressing room area.
Main Event Bounty Match: Vordell Walker v Tyson Dean
Ryan North grabs the mic and says that he's buying help to dispel the myth of Tyson Dean. Introduces Vordell Walker. About a third of the crowd cheers for Vordell, I'm guessing that there's some history with Vordell in the area(Vordell was a mainstay of the Rampage Promotion that ran in a town near-by). Tyson comes out to a loud ovation. Walker and Dean have a stare off and then tie up. I'm expecting a ground-based match up and so far that proves to be the case. Reversing head locks and head scissors with Tyson throwing in a dropkick. North is trying to taunt Tyson with one of the titles. Walker lures Dean in with the promise of a handshake and lays him out with a lariat to the back of the head. Action on the outside briefly. North chokes Dean on a Walker distraction. Dean tries to punch his way up but Walker drags him back down. Walker working the headlock. Tyson gets in a mouth breaker but Walker counters with a dropkick. The action goes outside the ring. Tyson slings Walker into the ringside seats and goes for the ground and pound. Dean tosses Walker back in the ring and they start exchanging haymakers. Walker hits a roundhouse elbow but Dean hits the spine buster. Both men down and the count is on. Both men up at 8. Back to exchanging blows. Dean hits another spine buster for a 2 count. Tyson gets Walker up for a TKO for a 2-7/8's count. Walker hits a knee to the face for a near fall. Walker misses a Stinger splash. Tyson drops him with another TKO for another very close fall. Tyson measuring Walker, but Walker catches Dean with a gut wrench powerbomb for a near fall. Both men slow to get up. Tyson drops Walker for a TKO for the third time and then hits his Ego Trip finisher for the three count. Time: 14:05
North says that the victory doesn't matter because Dean doesn't have the championship. Dean puts Walker over and lays claim to a title rematch with Mikael Judas Nov 10. North says Dean doesn't deserve anything and he has something better. Jax Dane will face Dean on Nov 10, and if Dean beats Dane then he gets a shot at Judas.
