This special edition is dedicated to the memory of WWE
Hall of Fame Class of 2015 member, "Mr.Wonderful" Paul Orndorff, who passed away
at age 71 due to Dementia and CTE. Orndorff has been a household name during the
old NWA Championship Wrestling from Florida, Georgia Championship Wrestling and
Mid-South Wrestling days until he joined the WWE during the Federation Years and
the boom of the first Wrestlemania. He was also a trainer in the old WCW Power
Plant until 2001 when WWE and Vince McMahon purchased the promotion. New
Revolution Wrestling was a promotion located at the Barrio Mani area in
Mayaguez. Formerly owned by Evelyn Crespo, it began in 2006 as IWA Puerto Rico's
development territory in the west coast of the Island by having events in
Mayaguez, San German and cities in the Aguadilla region. Their show was seen
regularly Sundays at 11:00 AM and Wednesday Nights at 9:30 PM at WOLE TV. During
its 10 year history, NRW made and produced top superstars that became household
names throughout Puerto Rican wrestling such as Leinord White, Richard Ramos,
Alex Delta, The Looney Twinz (Real O.B. and Crypton Twinz), "La Chica de la
Actitud" Roxxy, Raeven Marie. Princess Ashanty, "The King of Chaos" Ricky Cruz,
"La Guerrera" Amazona, Vassago, "The Cure" Vertigo Rivera, Raziel, Sensational
Star Roger, Mecha Wolf 450, El Nazareno, Tabu and Morgan De Jesus among others.
WWE Superstars appeared there like "El Boricua Mayor" Savio Vega (owner of IWA
Puerto Rico.), Gangrel, and Big Vito. After their Tenth Anniversary and
Christmas One Last Chance shows, NRW folded and closed down its doors forever in
2016.Here are two special videos a recap from the NRW's Ninth Anniversary Show
in 2015 and the second that led to their tenth and final Anniversary Show from
the stars who have been a part of the promotion's history.
On July 9, fans witnessed the rebirth of Championship Wrestling from Florida
under the ownership of Jeff Weaver with their Reloaded event from the Cuban
Civic Club in Tampa Bay. The original incarnation was the NWA's premier member
territory under WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Graham which ran from 1961 to 1987. At
that time, the WWE put some of the NWA member promotions out of business. Jim
Crockett not only purchased the UWF (NWA Mid-South) from Bill Watts, he also
bought Championship Wrestling from Florida merging both of them into WCW. The
original version featured legends like "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The American
Dream" Dusty Rhodes, Dory and Terry Funk, Jack and Jerry Brisco, The
Sheepherders (The Bushwahckers), The Wild Samoans (Afa and Sika), "Dirty" Dick
Slater, "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch, Larry Hamilton (owner of Champ 7 Pro
Wrestling in Jacksonville), "The Taskmaster" Kevin Sullivan, The Cuban
Connection (Fidel Sierra and Ricky Santana, who in the mid nineties were known
as The Barrio Brothers in WCW Worldwide episodes), Charlie Cook, Blackjack
Mulligan, Barry and Kendall Windham. In 1990, Howard Brody, then NWA President
became the booker of NWA Florida. The promotion made an impact with stars likes
Pepe Prado, "Black Nature Boy" Scoot Andrews, Mike Sullivan, Lex Lovett, Cyborg,
Billy Fives, and so on. It even had rivalries with the recently returned IPW
Hardcore Wrestling for several years until stepped down in 2002. NWA Florida
itself closes their doors in 2005. In 2007, a third incarnation returned but
under the WWE's management. It was supposed to be under Steve Keirn, a CWF
original who at that time worked for WWE. it became Florida Championship
Wrestling and part of the WWE development system, alongside Ohio Valley
Wrestling, When OVW parted ways with the WWE in 2008, making FCW the only
development territory. Like the two previous incarnations, FCW made tours
throughout the Sunshine State as well having their own versions of the Florida,
Southern, Florida Tag Team, Divas, Queen of FCW, and the Jack Brisco 15 minute
Championships being defended in live events and on television through the old
Bright House Sports Network (now Spectrum Sports Network) from the old FCW Arena
in Tampa. Current and former WWE Superstars who were at FCW before making their
way to the main roster included Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Jon Moxley fka Dean
Ambrose, Cesaro, AJ Lee, Jake Hager fka Jack Swagger, Naomi, Cameron, Wade
Barrett, Drew McIntyre, Cinta de Oro fka as Hunico and the second Sin Cara, Eric
Alexander fka Escobar, Sheamus, Shaul Guerrero fka Raquel Diaz, "El Patron"

Tonga fka Camacho and Donny Marlow, Aksana, Breezezango (Tyler Breeze and
Fandango), Rosa Mendes, El Hijo de Dos Caras fka Memo Montenegro, Davey Boy
Smith,Jr., Natalya, Tyson Kidd,Ivelisse Velez and many more. In the summer of
2012, WWE's Board of Directors along with Triple H decided to close down FCW
forever by simply renaming it to what it is today: WWE NXT. With their
championships retired, the NXT brand ran shows there until December 19, 2013.
All the ring and training equipment moved to the newly formed WWE Performance
Center in Orlando and the FCW Arena was closed and abandoned forever.
