From Rob Brodhecker:
American Legion Post 216, Austell, Ga.
GEW is the stop for me tonight, trying to relax after a long
day at work, dealing with the post Thanksgiving madness. At the last show, a
new GEW champion was crowned, the bad guys got trounced, and the crowd went
home happy. I’m expecting some things to be reversed tonight, we shall see.
GEW Owner Alan Wehunt opens the show with the Pledge of Allegiance,
the National Anthem, and a prayer. For this show, Mr. Atlanta 2, Draven Lee, CJ
Holloway, Zach Malone, Chris Cox, Aaron Dallas, Brent Banner, and GEW Champion Jess
Wade are advertised. No show in December, but will be back in January 28th.
Close to 120 in the building. Mr. Wehunt will handle ring announcing
duties and Robert Mullians is the referee for all matches.
1st match: Representing the Trailerhood, “The Trailer
Park Luluu” Matt Develine with CJ Holloway vs. Brent Banner.
They start off with some holds and counters, the crowd is
firmly behind Banner here. Trailer park trash chants directed at Develine. Banner
lands a drop kick but misses the Stinger Splash. Matt tries for a move up top,
Banner slams him from there. Matt to the floor, Banner goes for a kick, Matt
catches the foot and trips Banner onto the apron. They are fighting on the
floor, Matt shoves Banner into the ring post. Matt slows things down, working
over the back and neck of Banner. Banner tries to fire up but gets cut off. Full
on comeback now for Banner and gets a near fall. He goes up top and lands a not
quite a frog splash but Matt got the knees up. Manager is up on the ring apron
offering his boot on top of the turnbuckle for Matt to send Banner into. Banner
reverses, Matt puts the brakes on, Banner goes for a roll up, Matt reverses that
and rolls up Banner for the win at 10:16. Banner was practically in the ropes
for that.
2nd match: Mr. Atlanta 2 vs. “The Freak” Draven
Lee.
First time seeing the masked 2 in action; he’s a big boy,
and instantly gets the crowd pissed at him. Lee asks the crowd if they want to
see him hit 2 with the chain that he brought to the ring, of course the crowd
wants to see that. 2 overpowers Lee in the early going, Lee has to be quick and
he is, sending 2 out of the ring. Lee follows and they fight with Lee sending 2
into the ring post. Lee goes for the pin, 2 tosses him out of the ring. More
action out on the floor with 2 stomping away at Lee then wringing Lee’s arm
around the ring post. 2 punishes Lee’s arm and muscles Lee around the ring.
Good vocalizations from Lee, selling what 2 is doing to him. Massive lariat
from 2, Lee just gets the shoulder up. 2 grabs a chair and brings it into the
ring. 2 swings, Lee ducks, the chair rebounds off the ropes and smacks 2 in the
head, dazing himself. Lee lands the Macho elbow for the win at 12:13.
3rd match: Representing the Trailerhood, CJ Holloway with Matt Develine vs. “The Maniacal
One” Zach Malone.
Holloway doesn’t want to get into the ring with Malone, taking
a seat in the crowd with the fans screaming in his ear. CJ chops the chest of
Malone, that doesn’t end well for him as Malone slams his forearm across the
chest of CJ. They are fighting on the floor, Malone gives CJ and twitty twister
and then a wedgie. Some cheap shots by CJ get heat on Malone. CJ tries some
head butts to no effect on Malone. Rake to the back of CJ, follows up with a
Senton. CJ can’t get anything going. Malone throws CJ across the ring but CJ pulls
up lame, holding his leg. The ref checks on CJ and Develine sneaks in from
behind to low blow Malone. CJ’s miraculously healed and pins Malone at 9:27.
Malone wants another match with CJ for a no holds barred
match. Wehunt agrees and will see if CJ will sign a contract.
Intermission.
4th match: Skull Murphy with Miss Miranda vs. Big
Smash Chris Cox.
Murphy has got the crowd riled up, doing the whole if you
don’t shut up, I’ll leave. This match is going to be two guys beating the snot
out of each other. Cheap shots early by Miranda when Murphy distracts the ref,
a couple of fans want a piece of her. Murphy head-butts Cox and almost knocks
himself out. Cox on the attack and gets a near fall from a sidewalk slam.
Murphy chokes Cox on the ropes. I’m glad there is security, some of these fans want
to storm the ring. Cox fires up and sends Murphy out of the ring. Murphy tries
for a few moves, Cox clotheslines him out of his boots. Vader splash by Cox
seals the deal and the win at 6:59.
This was Murphy’s first appearance at GEW and man did he
have the crowd hating him.
The crowd loved that. Shawn Clark comes out to celebrate
with his teammate.
5th match: Johnny Viper vs. Aaron Dallas.
Huge pop for Dallas. The females in the crowd demand that
Dallas take off his shirt. Both men go for the arms to start, trading off on
twists and bars. Massive shoulder tackle by Dallas knocks Viper for a loop. Guitar
solo using Viper’s leg. Abdominal stretch drum solo by Dallas. Picture perfect drop kick by Dallas; he’s
really feeling it tonight. Action out on the floor, Dallas tries to send Viper
into a post and gets reversed. Viper pounds away at Dallas but can’t get the pin
fall. Viper using the ropes to choke
Dallas. Dallas with a jumping knee and then a spinebuster to gain some
separation. Big blows by Dallas and lands a spinning Falcon’s arrow for the win
at 12:06.
Intermission.
Main Event: “Mr. Juicy” John Bishop vs. Charles Allen vs. GEW
Champion Jess Wade. Title is on the line.
Handicap match? Triple threat? Whatever type of match it is,
Wade is at a major disadvantage here. Bishop and Allen co-operate only on
punishing Wade, any pin attempts are broken up by the other man. Bishop and
Allen finally come to blows. Wade tries to get Bishop to submit, but Allen
breaks it up. Wade pins Bishop at 8:22 after tossing Allen out of the ring.
Wade sends the crowd home happy.
