The imcomparable Wicked Nemesis and Mathias Darkthorne were on commentary. Joseph Void and T-Bird officiated. Jessie was the ringside videographer.
The FUNeral of Scott Adams
Chosen Ones appeared on stage - Ace Haven trying to look solemn while wearing a zoot suit, a verklempt Justin McKenzie and Cameron Keast utterly unable to keep a straight face. Amazing Grace played.
Things got weird. The music got funky as Chosen One made their way to the ring. Keast said they were gathered to mock and ridicule the existence of a bastard.
In Scott's honor, Keast sang his take Tim Robinson's "Friday Night" from the funeral scene in Robinson's sketch comedy series.
Keast said it would be fun to add special batting order tag rules to their ambiguous eight man tag match with Karmegeddon on Black Friday, which would be crazy and convoluted like everything else hed's done at ProSouth.
Keast said death would not save Adams from the stiupulation of their hair match at Wicked Havoc. Graphics were shown depicting Adams with various AI imposed hair styles.
Gospel music played. Karmageddon in the form of Bubba Cagle, Christian Garrett and DRP made their way to ringside.
A hooded Scott Adams wearing a wig came on stage holding up a giant pair of scissors. Adams splashed the front row with "holy water". As Karmegeddon stepped into the ring, Adams took the hood off to reveal a ridiculous platinum blonde wig. Adams did an imitation of Keast's slide. Adams said he was back from the dead. Adams said sorry about next week. Karmageddon had a prior engagement becauses he had to drive the church van.
A fight broke out. Adams threw the first punch. Karmageddon tried to put Keast in the casket propped up in the corner. Ayden Andrews popped out of the casket as the fourth member of Chosen Ones and rid the ring of Karmageddon.
Keast called for the scheduled match between McKenzie and Cagle and told McKenzie to take his clothes off. McKenzie had his gear on underneath...
A totaly absurd and massively self-indulgent segment. They finally paid off the stipulation of the Hair vs. Hair match at Wicked Havoc. It was the gift that kept on giving and giving and giving. When Keast gets his acting career going, it's safe to say he's not going to get cast in any musicals.
(1) Bubba Cagle (with Scott Adams & DRP & Christian Garrett) defeated Justin McKenzie (with Ace Haven & Cameron Keast) in 4:52. As McKenzie went for Sliced Bread 69, DRP jumped on the apron to distract referee T-Bird. Adams clocked McKenzie behind the ref's back and Cagle pinned him with Fear Factor 85.
Not really liking McKenzie taking an L for the second week in a row.
(2) Blood Born (Alexander Lincoln & Joe Wood) defeated Steven Calozzi & Trey Jordan to retain the ProSouth Tag Team Championship in 6:21. Calozzi tried to use his speed against Lincoln but it was all over for him once Lincoln got his hand on him. Blood Born whipped his ass. Wood hit the falling timber headbutt and the World's Whitest Slam. The heels got Lincoln off his feet and got heat on the big man. Calozzi pulled Wood off the apron to prevent a tag and pulled out his brass knuckles. Jordan felt the Power of the Punch as Lincoln ducked out of the way. Wood flattened Jordan with a flying headbutt and Lincoln covered for the three count.
Jordan was hot at Calozzi and walked out on him in frustration.
Another partnership goes down the drain for Calozzi owing to his insufferable ego.
AJ Black promo AJ hit the ring without intro and grabbed the mic. A photo of AJ as kid was shown on the video screen. AJ gave props to the people that animated his pro wrestling career: Stupid - his legacy lives through him, Frankie Valentine -- "family is family and it runs straight through the veins" and Doug Somers - Pretty Boy allowed AJ to wear his ring jacket. "I would never be Doug Somers but what I can be is the first AJ Black." AJ said he wanted it all and he wanted the biggest and baddest at Black Friday.
Great promo. AJ hit all the right notes as he's developed the habit of doing. There's no substitute for the innate understanding that comes with being 3rd generation in the wrestling business.
(3) "Sleazy C" Caeden Ooten (with Harley Haven) defeated Vougan in 5:14. C wasn't taking Vougan seriously. Vougan made C pay for his insolence.Ooten cut Vougan off with pop up punch. Vougan might have busted Ooten's lip with a leg lariat and C did not look happy as he gave Vougan a beating. Vougan answered with a series of standing leg lariats and a diving splash for a near fall. Ooten broke out a pair of power drive suplexes ran through Vougan with the Harpoon for the win.
Vougan's best ProSouth match ever. Ooten sold great for him and dished out some ferocous offense.
Ace Haven and Joe Black Compare Notes Ace said there weren't a lot of people in pro wrestling that he had a lot of respect for but Joe was one of them. Ace said he had clip of Joe's match with Alexander Lev at Southern Honor and spoiler alert: Joe lost the match. The same man that pinned Ace in his ring at Wicked Havoc, beat Joe on his turf with the biggest prize in Georgia on the line.
They cut to a clip of AJ Styles handing Joe the Southern Honor title afer the match and Joe in turn putting the belt on Lev's shoulder and hugging him.
Ace reminded Joe that he put a cigarettte out in Cameron Keast's eye and had never seen Joe take a loss as happily as he the loss to Lev.
Joe said you want to know why I put the belt on that man's shoulder, gave him a hug and kudos? The greatest wrestler of his generation walked past that man, extended his hand to help me to my feet and handed me the belt back. "I did the honorable thing in the presence of AJ Styles, so I don't feel any kind of way about that."
Joe said he lost in front of 550 people in Canton and we went viral. He lost in front of the world. Ace lost in his Palace iin front of his wife, with his son sitting at ringside and with all his trainees and mentees at ringside willing him forward. Joe said he got bookings and acknowledgement from the best wrestler alive. Ace got ridicule. Ace got a blue wig to parody Lev and then he got beat. Joe said his loss made him a made man. Ace's loss made him look like Lev's bitch.
Ace called Joe delusional. He admitted Joe lit a fire under him by asking him if he knew who he was two weeks ago. Ace said he was the primordial soup of Alabama Wrestling. Whe he broke in, there was Mike Jackson, Mickey Henry and whatever that pedophile Johnny Slaughter was up to and it was all garbage. He and his father started a brand that is often imitatted and never duplicated. His enemies had become allies with their enemies because they mutually hated him so much. The other promotions in the state were formed out of imitation or because they were willing to put him out of business. Ace said he would be cold and in the ground before ProSouth went anywhere. Ace said he was proud of the person he was.
Joe had nothing except what took place between these ropes. There was no Mrs Joe Black or little Joe Black. Joe was focused on being the best unsigned wrestler out of the state of Georgia. Did Joe know what it was like to be a person anymore? He definitely didn"t know what it was like to be a hero to anyone and damn sure didn't know what it was like to be a king.
"Pardon me old head...but do you want to fight me?" said Joe. Get on the horn with Amy and make the match because I'm was going to do something Lev wasn't able to do. I am going to kill Ace Haven.
A riveting segment -- two heavyweight talkers, neither one was pulling any punches and they were both bordering on delusional. Never one to resist the opportunity to take shots at the rest of Alabama wrestling, Ace was letting it rip.
(4) Ayden Andrews defeated DRP in 7:34. Before the match, DRP had a message for Karmageddon; H accomplished the mission of laying down for Garrett and now he had mission for Karmegeddon: stay out of his match with Andrews. Keast and McKenzie came to the ring with Andrews but they also went to the back.
DRP initiated a handshake with Andrews. Darkthorne said they were former partners tepidly turned enemies. Andrews came out of the gate getting the best of a stiff strike battle. DRP connected with his second attempt at the rabbit shining wizard for a quick two count. DRP pressed his attack and started laying in his strikes, but his lariat was good for a one count only. DRP hit a trio of snap suplexes. Andrews stunned DRP with a back elbow. DRP floated a snap suplex into a guillotine choke. Andrews powered out of it and into a Ushigiroshi for a two count. DRP scored a close near fall with a shadow STO. DRP was looking for another lariat and caught Andrews' signnature flying knee on the button. But Andrews was in no position to make a good cover. They exchanged counter moves until DRP executed the Panama City Slam and followed up with a rolling DVD. Andrews rolled out. DRP aggressively pursued Andrews and got caught with Nail In The Coffin as he slid back into the ring.
Eight minutes of well-executed, hard-hitting Strong Style flavor action, what's not to like? DRP stayed loyal to Karmegeddon in the aftermath but he could go babyface at the drop of a hat..
Karmegeddon attacked Andrews after the match. Keast and McKenzie tried to make the save and got beaten down for their troubles
Adams' wig is fun for comedy but looks too silly when Karmegeddon is doing anything serious.
(5) Christian Garrett (with Scott Adams) defeated Julius Pryor to retain the ProSouth All-Out Championship in 7:44. Darkthorne informed Garrett that due his actions, Commissioner Amy had ruled that his All-Out Championship was now on the line. Garrett dismmssed DRP and Cagle but wanted Adams to stay at ringside. Gee, I wonder why?
Pryor got off to a fast start. He was picking Garrett apart. Garrett attacked Pryor's knee to neutralize his speed.. Garrett applied a stretch muffler and got a near fall with a fisherman suplex. Pryor tried to fight up from the bottom but Garrett grounded him. Pryor finally got his striking game untracked. He hit a Pryolyzer to Garrett's surgical knee and rocked Garrett with a jumping uppercut forearm. While Garrett kept T-Bird occupied, Adams grabbed Pryor's .leg. Garrett capitalized with a pumphandle suplex to retain.
Match was OK if you like a styles clash and a horseshit interference finish, which was telegraphed when Garrett asked Adams to stick around for the match . Pryor is special talent but he's not a large person and Garrett was not the opponent to make him shine.
A graphic appeared for the new main event: Ace & Brother Azriel vs. Joe & Scott Spade
Christian Pierce/Steven Calozzi Bullrope Math Contract Signing Commissioner Amy Haven detaled the rules right down to the length of the rope. Amy signed and and asked Pierce to sign. Pierce insisted upon Calozzi being the first to sign because he wasn't going to be one pleading to get out of the contract.
Calozzi said he was going to miss Thanksgiving with his family in Pennsylvania because he did not want to risk missing the opportunity to face Pierce and that was nothing short of pure, unadulterated hatred. He was going to destroy Pierce once and for all and move on with his life.
Pierce said it was easy to be green and cut a good promo. A bullrope match wasn't just an excuse for Calozzi to miss some crappy spaghetti with his family. A bullrope match was something Calozzi had never experienced. Pierce said he was all cocky about signing the contract for his first bullrope match but what changed him was seeing a pool of his own blood in the ring in front of him.
Calozzi said they were both in an unforgiving, deadly business. Calozzi thanked Pierce for the stunt he pulled a couple of weeks ago. Pierce stuck those brass knucks in his mouth and risked his life and career by almost stomping him, but he wasn't thanking Pierce for his Christian values and mercy, he was thanking Pierce for awakening him. The fans had seen the gimmick, having fun with Wicked and such but back home he was dangerous. Calozzi said he would sign the contract but it was Pierce's death warrant. Calozzi signed the conract and brought up the car accident Pierce's wife was in back in the summer. Pierce missed a match with him because his wife was in the hospital. How poetic it was going to be when Pierce's wife had to go to the hospital to care for him.
Pierce used the bullrope to pull Calozzi's face onto the table. "God is merciful. Christian Pierce is not. You listen to me, you greazy Italian son of a bitch....At the end of the day, I'm going to leave you in a pool and I'm going to take you to a special place, a place sure as hell worse than Pennsylvania..."
Ooten's music hit and out came C and Harley. Ooten said Calozzi had a promising future but he didn't listen. Calozzi acted all hard but what C saw was a poor little boy wearing off brand clothing from Alibaba. This match was going to happen later because he had issues with Pierce going back to the beginning the year. He saw through Pierce as well. Pierce had experienced a lot of losses. The biggest loss of Pierce' life woud be to lose his Napoleon Complex.
Pierce said the contract was signed. The people wanted to see it. Ooten could take his little hussy and get to the back.
Harley said all three had a lot of history and made the bullrope match a triple threat. Pierce signed. Calozzi decked Pierce and dropped Calozzi with the brass knucks. Ooten laid Calozzi out with Loaded Gun Complex and stood tall to end the segment.
The mic work was tremendous. Pierce and Calozzi got across the danger and animosity. The mano y mano tension between them. had been built to a fever pitch and I don't know that they will be able to get that back. They may have pissed it all away for the novelty of a three way bullrope match. Ooten told no lies. He held up his end fine and could not have hated it any worse.
(6) ProSouth Double Champion Scott Spade & Joe Black defeated Brother Azriel & Ace Haven (with Amy Haven) in 10:31. Joe was ready to start but Spade tagged himself in to face Ace who quicky went to work on the the champion's arm. Joe took over on Ace. Darkthorne talked about the time William Huckaby broke his hand chopping Joe. Ace slid out to get Az into the match via ProSouth's lucha tag rules. Az got the better of a brief revisitation of his war with Joe. Ace gave Joe a legdrop using Az's back as a platform. But Spade distracted Ace and Joe caught him by surprise with a release german suplex.
Spade and Joe isolated Ace in their corner for the body of the match. Ace survived a brainbuster, falcon arrow and short arm clothesline in succession. Spade wanted Joe to use the belt on Ace. Joe thought about it but ultimately threw the belt back to Spade and walked out on the match. Spade superkicked Ace who spilled through the ropes. Az unleashed his arsenal of offense on Spade. As Az charged in with a corner clothesline, Spade put referee Void in his path. Az put on the brakes and Spade pinned him with feet on the ropes.
Spade stood onstage pointing at his brain and jawing at the crowd as the screen went to black.
So Spade once again escaped with Big Blue by the skin of his teeth This was a good match with a finish that did nobody any favors especially the referee (see screenshot above). In an subplot of note, Joe was is usual brutal self but refused to cheat or cooperate with Spade's cheap way out and could not bring himself to kill Ace.
