It's a great thing to have options. Kevin Kantrell defeated Jay Alpha Miller at Law of Jungle to earn a title match with "Boss Daddy" Simon Sermon's boy, CEW Champion Michael Walker on December 27. 

Bryce Cannon says he will be the next CEW Champion. 

Boss Daddy is doing everything in his power to make sure former champion Hunter James doesn't get another title shot.

And the winner of the Casino Rumble that headlines the December 27 show will definitely receive a title opportunity. 

Hakeem Young survived the Jungle and has now extended his Coastal Chaos Championship reign to a record 387 days.

Suge D is disenchanted with the Good Hand being under Sermon's thumb.

CEW's preeminent tag team, the Allen Brothers continued their winning ways.  

CEW has been killing it for the last two years and show no sign of letting up. Their video production is high calibe and distinctive in style, they tell great stories and the quality of the in-ring is beyond reproach.

The question is where does CEW go from here?

As Georgia Wrestling hurtles into 2026, CEW enters a new era in the evolution of the promotion. The creative team of Zach Mosley and Bryce Cannon  that won the booker of the year award in 2024 and lead them through October  2025 is no more. Starting with  Law of the Jungle, it's all Cannon's baby.  Mosley's influence on the booking and talent selections was still present but will fade into the rear view.

The multi-talented Carmen Michael was the lead commentator for this show alongside Maestro. They eased into an offbest chemistry all their own, which made for an entertaining listen. Michaels subbed for Brandon Benefield, who for my money, is in a class by himself among Georgia play-by-play commentators. 

Five-time GWH award winner Diana Michel was the ring announcer. The referees were Rooke of the Year contender Clark DeBennedeto and a former promoter...

(1) Bryce Cannon defeated Suge D in 9:10. What's this? Donn Kester is the referee? No way they could not have a good match. Cannon got a "Pineapple Pete" dig in on Suge. Maestro got in  Crowd seems a little sedate for VFW Post 660 but they weren't that way for long Bryce pinned Suge clean with the Keg Stand.

Cannon drew his Casino Rumble number out of a tumbler and looked pleased with the result. He left the exact number to be revealed but was confident about becoming the next CEW Champion.

(2) Rumble Qualifier Match: DJ Smoke defeated St. Julious (with Lord Goodwill) in 9:29. No loser here. A great debut for Smoke. He got over. If your offense doesn't look credible you can fuhgeddaboudit at CEW.  St. Julious is a prime example of the talented wrestlers CEW has made it their mission more to give exposure to. A St. Julious near fall measured Two and 86/92 on the Maestro scale. Julious and the Lord screwed up and it was Smoke with a frog splash for the win.

Smoke looked disappointed with the rumble number he drew but said he'd dealt with worse. Spoken like a true babyface preparing to overcome adversity.

(3) Christian Taylor defeated Cody Fluffman (with Radbod Mikey) in 8:12. I loved the matchmaking.  Fluffman was a dream, all the right showmanship moves to please the fans. Taylor is adding flourishes to his pronounced psycho tendencies. Keep them coming. The lights flickered, Taylor put on black gloves and applied a mandible claw. Fluff survived and Taylor snuffed him out with a flying boot to the face. 

Backstage, Suge D was losing his mind. Steven told him to breath. Suge said Good Hand was fighting for spots they used to just take. They got domesticated.  He was tired of Simon treating them like they were toys. Good Hand doesn't take orders, they take places over. I was amused by seeing Stevens as the adult in the room.

(4) Tyler Stevens defeated Xavier Cross in 8:41.  Monsters collide. Another win- win. The CEW performance Stevens had to have at this juncture. Valuable experience for Cross. In the end, Stevens beat Wall decisively with a Catatonic.

(5) Submissions Match: Kevin Kantrell submitted Jay Alpha Miller with Kantrell Rules at 15:47.  Ground based early which did not stop Miller from running his  mouth.  Maestro said Miiler had a face of disdain and malice. Miller applied a triangle choke. Kantrell broke the hold with a powerbomb into the buckles. Kantrell locked in a sharpshooter. Teflon got to the ropes.  Miller with a top rope leg drop and a fireman's carry spun out to a facebuster and Teflon had the crossface applied. Kantrell got to the ropes. Miller went for the Second Amendment. Kantrell slipped out but Teflon locked in the Wings Of Liberty (cobra clutch). Like butter, Kantrell reversed into Kantrell Rules. Miller did not last long before tapping out.

Miller offered to shake hands afte the match. Kantrell patted Miller on the back and smiled.

No loser here either. The building was cooking.Kantrell over clean with his submission and goes on to challenge  Walker for title match he earned it every inch of the way. Teflon take the L but pushes a serious wrestler with years of experience on him to the absolute limit.

Kantrell said it was a year ago, he got a CEW match as a last minute sub. Today, he was the #1 contender. Walker took the easy way out to get the championship. The only easy way out for Fro on December 27 would be to tap out. Everyone knows Kantrell rules and on December 27, his friends and his enemies will know, he is the Coastal Empire Champion. 

Five stars. Kantrell's promo was 100% true to his persona. His story arc has been solid gold. I'm hard-pressed to come up with anyone in Georgia Wrestling who has raised his stock more in 2025.   

(6) Simon Sermon defeated Hunter James in 3:24. Hatred for Simon abounded. Michaels called Sermon the best bedazzled man in pro wrestling.  Taylor whacked James with a hammer. Simon, whose ass had been kicked, sprung to life with jumping jacks and covered for the win.

Sermon and Taylor embraced. The CEW fans were outraged. 

Yes. 

(7) Allen Brothers (Robert & Steve) defeated Better Together (Ori Gold & Hadar Horvitz) to retain the Tag Team Turmoil Championship in 13:12. If you like rapid fire tag team wrestling this is the match for you. The pace was relentless. These four meshed Allen Brothers are majorly strong for their size. Better Togethers have the timing on their combination moves (and stereo bumps) down to a fine science.

Small sample: Robert gave Better Together a double airplane spin, planted Horvitz with a gordbuster and was about to powerbomb Gold but Horvitz jumped on his back. Robert caused a meeting of Better Together minds and followed with a double flatliner for a near fall...Better Together double supericked Robert for two and pulled him for a double flatliner. Steve came flying in to break up the pin...For the finish, Allens teamed up for a german suplex/sick kick combo on Gold. Robert rocket launched Horvitz into Steve's cutter landing Horvitz on his partner. Allens scored simultaneous pins on both of Better Together...whew!

 (8) Law of the Jungle Match: Hakeem Young defeated Chad Sky Walker and Young Mighy Joe to retain the Coastal Chaos Championship in 25:46. Tommy Mars dropped out as the fourth competitor. The match presented was not the orginal plan. It was envisioned as a ladder match but that was deemed too hazardous for the tight quarters at VFW Post 660. Creative got creative and cooked up the Law of the Jungle: To win, a wrestler had to retrieve the belt from the top of a pole in one of the corners. The catch was a wrestler had to first win a fall and get to the belt before another wrestler won a fall.  Weapons were hung from a wire above the ropes as seen below. 

The dastardly Hakeem used low blow on both opponents and pulled a mini-guitar off the wire. The guitar disintegrated in his grasp. Skywalker assisted YMJ with a piggyback senton on Hakeem. Skywalker caught fire and came face-to-face with the belt but Law of the Jungles rules said he had to secure a pinfall first. Sky Walker hit his moonsault elbow on YMG. Hakeem tried to steal the pin but Skywalker stole it back. YMJ excited the  crowd by bringing a door into the ring. Hakeem locked Joe out of the building and went at it one-on-one with Sky Walker, pinning him with a spear. Hakeem speared YMG into the door which did not break. Hakeem had a clear shot at getting to the belt but Sky Walker pinned YMG with the Reboot first.  Hakeem hit a piledriver on Sky Walker but it was Hakeem that got pinned by YMJ. Despite Joe's monkey flips and Herculean effort, Skywalker won the next fall with a moonsault elbow on Hakeem at 18:43. 

Sky Walker smashed the shit out of both opponents.with a cookie sheet and climbed for the belt but slipped  and crotched himself agonizingly close to the goal line. Sky Walker got a hand on the belt but was then put through a bridged door  thanks to a tower of doom suplex by Joe. YMJ tried to pin Hakeem but he got a shoulder up and an arm over  Sky Walker, so Sky Walker was pinned. 

YMJ and Hakeem were both eligible to win. Mighty Joe made a beeline for the belt but Hakeem rudely sent him flying off the ropes and secured the belt to retain.

I thought there might be a title switch here and was happy that's not what happened. Hakeem is still hungry and refuses to take a back seat to anybody. Sky Walker has brought forth the best version of himself in 2025. The GWH awards lack a category to honor the scope of what he has achieved. The Savannahmal is a one-of-one kind of guy but being a whimsical character alone wouldn't be enough in CEW if he could not also wrestle.
