From Larry Goodman:
The main event position at CEW is no small thing. James defeated Christian Taylor, Last Man Standing in the blowoff of their feud. If your tastes skew towards violence and the creative use of weapons in a confined space, this match is right up your alley.
"Boss Daddy" Simon Sermon and CEW Champion "Main Event Mike" Walker made their way to the ring. Simon offered fans a chance to kiss his ring. Mike was doing same with the the title belt and had some takers. Referees Jesse Morales and Clark DeBenedetto acted as Simon's caddys for a belt bag. Simon ordered "Fat Boy" referee Jesse B to fetch the paper shredder stashed by the announcer's booth. Simon pulled a wad of confiscated signs out of his back pocket and stuff them into the shredder to produce his own brand of confetti. The shredder jammed. Simon was not deterred.
Sermon presented Walker with a brand spanking new biggest title belt in Georgia, 6 pounds of gold, diamonds and rubies. Simon celebrated by tossing the shredded paper into the crowd and ordering the refs to clean up the mess.
After losing clean to Anthony last month and keeping a lower than usual profile, Simon needed to turn up the heat. This promo got the job done.
Jay Alpha Miller said Hakeem Young, his partner in The Redacted was not cleared to wrestle so he was calling it a night.
Exotic Youth (Bryce Cannon & Chaos Chammpion Cornelius Pepperbottom) begged to differ. They unlocked "U Suck Ass" as the real initials behind Teflon's USA.
Maybe I'm reading too much into the political satire in CEW's storylines. But I really do not think so.
(1) Jay Alpha Miller defeated Bryce Cannon in 8:50. Pepps joined the commentary team. Miller picked up Cannon's frat paddle. Pepps took the paddls out of Teflon's hands. While Pepps was arguing with DeBenedetto, Miller tattooed Cannon with Pepperbottom's title belt. Miller hooked Cannon's leg for an easy three count.
Match was every bit as solid as you would expect. Redacted vs EY is match I wish I could be at Coastal Empire Beer Company to see Saturday night. Any mix or match of the singles possibilities in this feud is gold.
(2) Suge D defeated Young Mighty Joe in 8:28. Suge wins with a roll up and feet on the ropes.
(3) Emily Locke (with Body Bundy & Jacked Josh) defeated Kelsey Raegan in 8:48. Raegan had Locke beaten with the Blood Rush forearm but DeBennedeto got pulled out by Bundy. Josh tried to interfere and ate a superkick from Raegan. Locke was laying in wait with the Lock and Key (ripcord cutter).
2026 so far, Kelsey Raegan is Georgia's standout wrestler on the woman's side Tell me who's been better? Emily Locke is still my sweetheart.
Every match on this show had been good. The babyface were getting screwed right and left, three straight matches of this stuff was getting redundant.
Out came Simon Sermon for the second time of the night.
(4) Dax Anthony pinned CEW Champion Michael Walker (with Simon Sermon) in a non-title match at 15:41. Walker was channeled the Larry Zybysko stall.
Anthony was beating Walker's ass but sustained a knee injury. Main Event Mike was all over it. Hobbled to the nth degree, Anthony hit the Final Curtain TKO on Walker and pinned the champion.
Sermon said when he granted Anthony a match with Walker last month, he never said it was for the title.
Fan outrage about all the heel bullshit had been built to a peak.
Laying in the ring with a busted knee, Anthony requested a title match next month. Walker was shaking his head no. Much to the champion's dismay, Boss Daddy said yes.
Tremendous. Is Sermon treating Main Event Mike like another expendable?
DJ Smoke was interviewed by Benefield. Benefield wanted to know how Smoke felt after coming so close to winning the CEW Championship last month. Smoke said he was taught when you get knocked down, get yourself up and get ready for the next one.
"The One" J Sun Esquire interrupted. Esquire kicked Benefield out of the ring and targeted the fans. Was it really an insult to call him Vin Diesel? Esquire was insulted he had to wrestle a loser. Esquire pie-faced Smoke and got punched in the mouth in return.
Esquire got the desired heat.
(5) DJ Smoke defeated J Sun Esquire in 6:15. Smoke threw Esquire's pinkie ring into the crowd. The announce team smartened viewers up about Esquire originally being from Savannah. Smoke over with a frog splash.
Smoke is the blackest white meat babyface around and he can back it up in the ring. The CEW crowd is solidly behind him.
(6) Exodus (Body Bundy & Josh Jacked with Emily Locke) defeated the retuning Saturday Night Temptations ("Saturday Night Scream" Karl Hager & CJ Shine) to retain the CEW Tag Team Turmoil Championship in 7:58. Hager's magic hat imbued the wearer wit the ability to do all sorts of things beyond their conscious control -- Chianne Michaels, Jesse Morales and Maesro all fell under the spell or Hager's Magic Hat.
Morales ejected Locke for outside interference. Temptations had Exodus pinned with O'Connor Rolls in stereo. The bell rang but it was Locke ringing the bell. Exodus chucked Shine into the post and hit the Final Revelation (neckbreaker/top rope splash combo) on Hager to pick up the win.
Pro wrestling entertainment. Jessie B's Spinaroonie due to Magic Hat intoxication is my guilty pleasure of the month. maybe the year.
(7) Last Man Standing: Hunter James defeated Christian Taylor in 19:30. James set the tone by throwing powder in Taylor's face at the bell. Meastro threw in a Black Sabbath Snowblind reference. All manner of weapons violence ensued. A kendo stick (a shinai as Maestro called it in Japanese), a chair, baking pan and a door. James bled after taking shenai shots to the head. Taylor connected with a coast-to-coast dropkick on James who had a trash can over his head. Taylor dropkicked a chair into Hunter's face. James nipped up at the count of eight. James hit the brainbuster. Taylor was up at nine. The crowd chanted for tables and got one. Benefield point out this was one thick, solid table. The final five minutes was all about setting hp the finish -- James did a leaping elbow drop off the ladder onto Taylor whose head was inside the trash can. The table leg gave way. That sucker was not going to break. James used the ropes to regain his feet just before the 10 count.
This was an authentically violent match without taking any crazy risks. I loved the lack of outside interference. The thing about Taylor is he never lets up. The dial is turned all the way to the right 100% of the time, Hunter James was not about to be outdone.
The CEW cameras caught up Hunter James backstage. James said he was the best wrestler to grace Georgia, a brainbuster away from once again becoming the CEW Champion.
