Officials—Caleb Layne, Butterbean, Stan Robinson
Match 1: Julian Balderas Vs. Justin McKenzie—Lockup off the jump where Justin grabs a wrist lock then climbs to the top rope for some “old school” rope walking followed by a hurricanrana! Quick-paced action ensues then McKenzie unleashes a textbook head scissors. Balderas counters another arial attack and gets a two count. Julian with the sleeper hold with a body lock. Justin flips over his head to get a quick two count of his own. They both roll out and the action spills to the ringside area. Back inside, McKenzie drops Balderas the heads to the top rope for a swannton. He sprints to the opposing corner for a moonsault to finish the combo. Julian kicks out at two and seven eighths. Justin goes for a Sliced Break #2, Julian stops his effort by turning it into a running powerslam for a two and fifteen sixteenths count. McKenzie recovers and tries again, this time Balderas uses a Black Hole Slam. They tangle a third time with this one being the charm for Justin as he catches his foe with a poison-rana then HITS the Sliced Bread #2! Official’s hand slaps the mat three times and the Misfit is your winner!
Takeaway: Balderas can work, especially against a calculated flyer like McKenzie. He showcased his power and athleticism well even in the losing effort. McKenzie continues to get better each time out and is impressive in how crisp a lot of his repertoire is. Another win on the board for his as well. Always interesting to see what could be next for the Misfit.
Winner: Justin McKenzie via pinfall
Match 2: “Diamondback” Christian Pierce Vs. Zander Whoric—As the bell rang, Pierce gripped a tight head lock on Whoric. Zander fired back as the crowd started to rally behind his efforts. Whoric knocks Pierce to the outside only to follow it with a tope’ suicida. Pierce beats Whoric back inside the ring and grabs him with a hanging DDT. Christian hits the ropes then delivers a running slap to the chest of his opponent. Pierce lands a lariat so stiff Stan Hansen might have shed a tear. Zander uses a spinning DDT off the second rope. Christian with a suplex into the corner on Zander. He climbs to the top for a double stomp to the chest of Whoric. He covers Zander for the 1-2-3.
Takeaway: Whoric is a ball of energy and a wiry tough match up for many. Pierce showcased by ruthless he can be and that lariat he threw was one of the stiffer ones I’ve seen in a good while. Good to see Christian back in Premier and hope to see him on more of their shows moving forward.
Winner: “Diamondback” Christian Pierce via pinfall
Match 3: “Southern Outlaw” Sean Nelson & Ace Haven (w/ Amy Haven) Vs.Xander Seabolt & Jacob Ashworth (Ultimate Tag Team Champions—w/ John Johnson)—Nelson and Ashworth square off first with a pair of lock ups that end in clean breaks. Haven and Seabolt tag in as Ace uses his high flying against Xander’s superior power. Nelson in to deliver a crushing backbreaker followed by Haven’s high leg drop for the first two count of the contest. The champs utilize classic veteran tag tactics with quick tags along with isolation of Ace. After a good amount of damage and time, Haven gets the hot tag to Nelson. His efforts are stifled however by a dominating Ashworth and Seabolt who really dig in to neutralizing his power. Johnson gets a bit close to the action as new GM Shane Knowles strolls to the ring. He informs Double J that he is no longer allowed at ringside. After some protest, Johnson storms to the back. In the confusion Ace and Sean perform backslides on Seabolt and Ashworth as the official counts to three! We have new chamions!
Takeaway: I thought for sure when Seabolt, Ashworth and Mayson won the titles last show that they would have them for a good while. I stand corrected as Ace and Sean found a way to get it done. They make in interesting duo with the ever dangerous Amy Haven holding down the outside. Jacob and Xander seemed to be confused as to what to do next after the loss. More on this later.
Winners: (and NEW Ultimate Tag Team Champions) Sean Nelson & Ace Haven (w/ Amy Haven)
Match 4: “The Spiiral” DeSilva (Southeastern Heavyweight Champion w/ John Johnson) Vs. Joey Hyder—Hyder’s power was on display early with some mega slams and shoulder tackles that sent DeSilva flying. Johnson tries to advise the official on how to do his job properly which gives DeSilva enough of a break in the action to sneak up behind Hyder. DeSilva with the Olympic slam, then a by the book belly to belly suplex. Hyder counters with a super high cross body and a standing Spanish fly for a two and three eighths count. They battle back and forth pretty evenly. Eventually DeSilva hits the Spiiral Bomb for the victory!
Takeaway: Hyder has a lot of power and can hit you with a flying attack from about any direction. DeSilva has suplexes for days plus his mat background tends to help him stay in control for the entirety of the contest.
Biggest moment however was when GM Shane Knowles came out post match to have DeSilva turn in the Southeastern Championship, to then award him the NEW title: Premier All-Star Wrestling No Limits Championship. A great nod to DeSilva to be the last to hold the Southeastern Championship and the first to hold the No Limits.
Winner: (and STILL/NEW Southern Heavyweight/Openweight Champion) DeSilva (w/ John Johnson)
Match 5: Nick Halen Vs. Ashton Martin—Halen’s power CHOP displayed from the beginning. They tangle with Halen rolling to the outside. Martin flies on top of his with a plancha. Nick hits a spinning neck breaker, three elbow drops follow then another CHOP from Halen. Nick drags Ashton to the outside to work him over then shoves him back inside the ring. He leaps to the apron to tell the official “you’re at seven” before getting back in the squared circle. He takes a split second too long, Martin knocks him down. He scampers to the top rope only to crash down on Halen with a frog splash for a solid two count. Ashton uses a barrage of flying forearms then a flying clothesline in the corner. Nick is a step ahead of Ashton as he drops him with an impressive STO, gets a near fall. Martin recovers to use a jumping flatliner for a two count. Halen tries for his own counter, Martin spins it into a Blue Thunder Bomb out of the corner, gets a two and five eighths count. Halen decides he’s had enough as he slams Martin then a smashing elbow drop from the top gives the win to Nick Halen.
Takeaway: Martin has slowly built a good in-ring body of work and gets some good momentum from the crowd. Nick Halen hits hard. Add in a his technical ability and “get the job done effectively” attitude to make him a threat to be a top player anywhere he is. Locker room should be on notice.
Winner: Nick Halen via pinfall
Match 6—Main Event: Joe Black, Mother Frost, Mad Man Mayson (w/ John Johnson) Vs. Alexander Lev, Eddie Hindrixx, AJ Black (Alley Fight)—
A melee breaks out as the bells sounds, each pairing off with an opposing opponent. Joe and Eddie have a sword fight with chairs. Lev and Joe trade running kicks to their seated opponent. Multiple planchas and tope’s from Black and Lev. Frost busts AJ open then opens the wound more with his trademark antlers. Lev finds a Kendo stick and uses it on Frost and Mayson. They return the favor, but he gets the rings bell to temporarily dispose of Mayson. AJ and Lev use double team maneuvers on Frost and Mayson. Joe drops AJ with an STO meant to put the current top champion through the ring. Joe leaps through the ropes for an arial attack. Mayson goes for a big lariat on AJ who ducks out of the way, leaving Frost to take the massive arm across the neck. Eddie smashes Mayson then continues his battle with Joe. Hindrixx release German suplexes Joe. They all lay each other out with high-impact attacks. At some point, only Lev and Mayson are in the ring with the Mad Man’s chain. Lev locks Mayson in a LaBell Lock with the chain across Mayson’s mouth and face. Johnson debates his options, then reluctantly throws in the towel. Takeaway: Wow. Just when you think you’ve seen every type of “No DQ, No Holds Barred, etc” type match, you get an Alley Fight where there are no rules or officials and the action was all over the arena (even outside the building a few times). So many moments where the action was all but in the laps of fans. After the match was another interesting wrinkle as Mayson, Seabolt, and Ashworth looked ready to take out Johnson for throwing in the towel to end the contest. Instead, Xander and Jacob took out Mayson, with Mother Frost entering the fray to become the new member of the power faction. As they continue to beat down Mayson it’s Lev, AJ and Eddie who rush back to the ring to run them to the back.
Winners: Alexander Lev, Eddie Hindrixx & AJ Black via surrender
Overall takeaway: Premier shows just build and build in excitement and action. There’s usually no real drop in intensity or great wrestling moments. This one built to the ultimate climax of the Alley Fight. Fans were scattering everywhere to avoid being in the action, while jockeying for prime positions to witness the destruction all around. So many twists and turns to keep you intrigued and guessing the whole time. Great show from a great company.
Next Show: Saturday, June 27 th at the Church Without Walls (Carrollton) 7:30p bell time.
