From Lawrence Goodman:
ProSouth inched forward towards Wicked Havoc on October 30 with this episode of Recharged.
We got two surprise returns to ProSouth this week. Brandon Whatley came back to do dirty work for the Process. However, Cameron Keast prevailed and awaits a face-to-face with ProSouth Champion Joe Black about their title match at Wicked Havoc.
Making his first ProSouth appearance in 18 months, Douglas Sanders returned with a new look (and the same old megaphone) as the newest member of the Over Office.
Insurrectionist President Lose Brantley and his sycophant Jasper Reid continued their scandalous abuse of power but did not succeed in achieving their nefarious objectives.
Wicked Nemesis and Mathias Darkthorne were having a grand old time on commentary. Darkthorne handled the ring announcing. The officials were Joseph Void and Cody Clonts.
Opening with a fake news report on the live assassination of President Averson on ProSouth last week. "The video appears to show a set up orchestrated by the Over Office", the result of which was Averson being blown up in the ProSouth parking lot.
The Over Office made their way to the ring. President Brantley addressed the ProSouth Nation for the first time since being sworn in due to Averson's untimely demise. Brantley said the ProSouth fans should bb thanking Jasper Reid for saving them from the worst possible administration. Averson was not in heaven. He was in hell.
Brantley's first Executive Order of the night was to bring Sanders back to ProSouth and pardon him. His second Executive Order was about a thing that happened on January 6 but that could be dealt with later.
Sanders came out to "Psycho Killer" with a shaved head and scraggly goatee, looking nuttier than before. Brantley invited Sanders to speak and quickly muzzled him. Brantley informed Sanders that he had been inserted into the match between Donnie Primetime and Ashton Martin to make it a triple threat.
Sanders is the perfect addition to the Over Office stupid comedy troupe. Quite the band of misfits they are.
Scott Adams said Sanders looked familiar and did his suspiciously over-the-top intro for Ace Haven.
Ace Haven (with Cameron Keast & Scott Adams) defeated "Sublime" Jasper Reid (with Lose Brantley & Douglas Sanders) to retain the YouTube Championship in 5:30. Ace then took a spill over the top rope. Brantley and Reid put the boots to Ace before Adams and Keast could step in. Fast forward: As Ace was preparing to finish Reid off, Brantley got on the apron. Adams pulled Brantley down. Sanders decked Adams. Keast superkicked Sanders. Reid went up top. Ace's Windwaker to the ass knocked Reid off the top rope onto the four geeks at ringside. Ace then pinned Reid after a shining wizard.
The match was what it was and that was not good. Ordering a title match for Reid was an abuse of presidential power.
Cameron Keast promo. Keast said last week, he broke a nine-month silence to challenge Joe Black to a ProSouth title match at Wicked Havoc, only to find out not one member of the Process was in the building tonight. He wanted to realize the dream he'd had since getting into pro wrestling, Cameron Keast and Joe Black face-to-face. Joe could at least send him any kind of sign that he accepted his challenge. Joe Black's entrance music played. As Keast faced the stage, Brandon Whatley attacked him from behind. Keast battled back but Whatley planted him on the ramp with the Bottomless Pit.
Whatley had been ejected from The Process without explanation. Is he back? Time will tell.
After a ridiculous display of martial arts prowess by Black Tiger, Ooten laid a beating on the greenhorn and administered Loaded Gun Complex on the flimsy pads that surround the ring in the ProSouth Palace. Tiger Mask was flat on his back at the count of 10. After the bell, Ooten pulled Tiger Mask up and sent him back down with a single chop. Harley told the announce team C really didn't have to do all that.
Mission accomplished. Ooten sent a message to Joe at Tiger Mask's expense.
Darkthorne announced that Keast vs. Whatley was the new main event for the evening.
Cross Country (Sean Nelson & Christian Garrett) defeated Oliver Green & Effin JACS in 8:40. JACS and Green used their speed to great advantage until Nelson rudely clubbed Green in the back of the head on his handspring back elbow (again!). Green took a beating. Wicked made a John Stossel reference after Nelson slapped Green upside the head (wow, the Stossel incident with David Schultz took place over 40 years ago). Nelson did the old school women's spot -- standing on Green's hair while yanking on his arms. Green connected with springboard back elbow. JACS cleaned house on Cross Country but not for long. Cross Country put JACS away with End of the Line.
When it comes to a rookie taking a cruel thrashing from a veteran heel, Nelson and Green have a certain chemistry. Cross Country is an effective old school team. I can see them getting a tag title run at some point.
Donnie Primetime defeated Ashton Martin and Douglas Sanders in 10:20. Sanders begged off. Primetime and Martin took turns smacking Sanders in the head and turning him into a human punching bag until he fell out of the ring. Donnie hung Martin out to dry on a dropkick and was looking to apply a sharpshooter when Sanders reentered. He sidelined Martin and worked Primetime over. Martin caught Sanders by surprise with a springboard back elbow for a very close near fall. Wicked called it two and 19/20. Primetime got the sharpshooter locked in on Martin. Sanders broke that up with a Diamond Cutter. Sanders tried to hit Martin with his megaphone. Martin knocked Sanders through the ropes and drove him into the barricade with a tope suicida. Primetime also dove through the ropes and all three were down on the floor. Sanders kicked out of Primetime's frog splash. Martin followed with another frog splash. Primetime broke up the pin and all three were down in the ring. Primetime kicked out of a spinning blue thunder bomb from Martin. Sanders blasted Martin with the megaphone. Donnie punched Sanders in the face and pinned him.
The match was fine, though not a good use of Martin's formidable athletic talent. The sequence where Sanders got smacked in the head was fun. The finish was abruptly anticlimactic finish after so many big moves. The sequence where Sanders got smacked in the head was fun.
Brantley was so confident in his ability to defeat Julian Balderas that he ordered Balderas to have one hand tied behind his back and installed Reid as the special guest referee. Reid pulled a strap out of his underwear to tie Julian's right hand behind his back. "And I thought getting sweaty nutsack money from Mike Jackson was bad," Wicked said.
(5) Julian Balderas defeated Lose Brantley to retain the All-Out Championship with one hand tied behind his back and Jasper Reid as the special guest referee in 6:55. Brantley challenged Balderas to a test of strength with the arm tied behind his back. Balderas won a test of strength with his good arm, clotheslined and bulldogged Brantley. Reid fled the ring so as not to count for Julian's pin attempt. Brantley worked over Julian's free arm. Balderas kicked out of a Killswitch. Brantley went for a belt shot and domed Reid with the belt as Balderas ducked out of the way. Balderas spinebustered Brantley with one arm. Reid was in no shape to count the pin but was able to give Balderas a low blow. Brantley hit Balderas with the belt. Balderas again kicked out. Balderas bowled Over Office over with a running crossbody, splashed them off the top rope and used Reid's hand to make the three count on Brantley.
The President rigged the match in every way his pea brain could think of and still lost. This was a creative and perversely entertaining way to showcase the incredible strength of Balderas. Would love to see Ashton Martin vs. Balderas.
Cameron Keast defeated Brandon Whatley via submission in 6:28. Keast jumped Whatley as he was heading to the ring and went to town on him. Whatley turned the tide with a full nelson slam. The match developed into a see saw battle. Keast got two counts with the Vampire Killer and a Raindrop. Keast kicked out of the Bottomless Pit. Whatley tried for another Bottomless Pit. Keast reversed it with Blood Tears. Whatley got a foot on the ropes at the count of two. Keast locked in a Koji Clutch in the center of the ring. Whatley had no way out and tapped.
Better than I expected. All action. Whatley looked motivated. Keast leveled up as he needs to for a title match with Joe Black.
