From Rob Brodhecker: The ramifications from the ending of last month's LumberJack match that saw Corey Hollis pin Logan Creed...
From Rob Brodhecker:
The ramifications from the ending of last month's LumberJack match that saw Corey Hollis pin Logan Creed after hitting Logan with his arm brace, but Logan had thrown Hollis over the top rope, but the refs didn't see it, thereby winning a shot at AC Mack's SH title. Gary Lamb wasn't having it and made the Championship match a triple threat by adding Logan Creed to the match. AC Mack's not happy with that decision and has stated that there will be no triple threat match tonight.
Most of the matches will be setting the stage for what Southern Honor will be serving at the anniversary show on Oct 4. There are a couple of exciting tag matches tonight with The Gym Nasty Boys facing off with the Lynch Mob which would be the main event match anywhere in the state of Georgia, and the newly formed team of Not Yet Rated will test their mettle against one of the most decorated tag teams in Georgia Wrestling history in the Washington Bullets. There will also be an intergender tag match of David Ali and Dani Jordyn of the New Era facing Trevor Aeon and Shalandra Royal.
The attendance at this show has been a hot topic. I estimated 400 and the official attendance number reported by Southern Honor was 418.
The match starts off with a brawl ringside, ending with Sunny posting himself trying to splash Brady. In the ring, Brady is dominating until he misses a moonsault. Sunny sets up for his finisher, and the lights in the ring go out. When they come back on Corey Hollis is in the ring with Mikal Judas. They attack Sunny, and the ref calls for the DQ. Hollis cuts a promo saying that they are the coyotes and the lethal poison for SH. Hollis tells Judas and Brady to "stick" Sunny. Logan Creed's music plays, and he enters the ring and runs off Hollis and Co. Creed, Daze and Vein stand tall in the ring. Total match time: 3:29. A definite set-up match, B+.
Gary Lamb promo
Almost one year ago today, They announced that SH is starting and that "They" said that SH wouldn't make it and that SH had put another promotion on life support. A "pull the plug" chant starts, that was brutal. He says that you ain't seen nothing yet and to hold your fork. GHW gets a mention, and several podcasts are mentioned. The New Era's music plays, and David Ali and Dani Jordyn come out. David's on the mic, but Gary stops him, and then he rips into New Era. Gary wants them on the anniversary show and says that Shannon Moore and Lindsay Snow will be coming up from Tampa to face Ali and Jordyn. This leads to the next match.
The New Era (David Ali and Dani Jordyn) vs. Trever Aeon and Shalandra Royal
This match was set up at the previous show when Trever made the save for Royal as she was getting beat down by Ali and Jordyn. Jordyn's got some sort of playbook with her. Dani and Royal start off. They tag out. A test of strength for Aeon and Ali, Ali kicks Aeon in the stomach to break out of it. Dani interferes on Ali's behalf. Aeon superplex's Ali for a near fall. Dani yanks Royal off the apron to prevent the tag. The crowd is weird tonight, they are cheering for Aeon and Dani. Aeon takes out Ali ringside, and Royal gets a near fall on Dani. Ali pulls Royal off of Dani and Royal slaps him. Ali punches her right in the mouth. Dani sets her up, but Aeon makes the save. Aeon is teasing hitting her and Dani slaps him in the face and quickly tags in Ali. They double team Aeon, but Royal makes the save. The ladies are on the outside briefly until Dani posts Royal. Ali and Dani double team Aeon for the win at 9:46. The first time in forever that Ali has gotten a pinfall here at SH. C+, I am an Aeon fan and hope that he can get elevated in some one on one matches soon.
Handicap match: William Huckaby vs. Chance Rizer and Christian Cross
Huck comes out with an off duty police officer for protection against Joe Black. Huck says that his opponent, Sean Legacy, didn't show up, and Legacy's replacement didn't show up, and the replacement for the replacement went to Europe. Huck says that if Joe Black shows up tonight, the officer will take him to jail. Huck is jawing with fans at ringside. A "We want Joe" chant breaks out. The two local competitors attack when the bell rings, trying to hit Huck with everything in their arsenal. Huck fights them off and pins one with a vicious lariat at 1:19. Joe Black's music plays, and he enters from the crowd behind Huck. He nails Huck with a glass bottle. The officer comes into the ring from the stage area. He handcuffs Black, and just perp walks Black out of the ring and to the back. Huck got busted open and is bleeding heavily. The crowd is chanting you deserve it. They have to sweep the glass out of the ring. A solid B for the build-up to the clash of Huckaby and Black at the anniversary show.
The Gym Nasty Boys (White Mike and Timmy Lou Retton) vs. The Lynch Mob (Matt and Joey Lynch)
The crowd is on its collective feet for the Mob's entrance. Joey pulls his phone out from his tights, and the Mob take a selfie, guess he forgot to take it out before the entrance. The Boys are playing up the heel rolls here, but they do have some fans in attendance. I'm always amazed by White Mike's athleticism. The usual Gym Nasty Boys shenanigans occur until the Mob takes over with a series of double teams. Timmy is able to get Matt to the outside and cause a distraction while Mike is attacking Matt ringside( at my angle, I couldn't see it, but this appears to be the spot where Matt's ribs are injured). Joey tags in and is cleaning up on Timmy. A combo by Joey gets a near fall. Timmy goes up for a moonsault, but Joey moves out of the way. Mike comes in and swings Joey around with a front chancellery several times and gets a near fall. Joey is able to roll up Timmy by surprise at 9:40. That pin came from nowhere and surprised everyone. One of the few matches that I would have liked to be a couple of minutes longer, B+. Matt may have broken a rib at a point in the match by hitting the ring barricade.

Owen Knight (with Lee Johnson) vs. CB Rude (CB Suave)
CB comes out to the classic Rick Rude music and does the Rude intro to the delight of the crowd, a beautiful homage to the late Rick Rude. A good match in spite of me running around trying to count the crowd. Knight wins at 5:50, B-.
The Petty Party hosted by Ashton Starr with guest Chase Logan
I took a video of the segment, and you can check it out on Facebook/RobBrodhecker. Ashton has his own Party Planner or P.P. who is a Ralphus type of guy. Ashton sits on a throne and makes Logan Chase sit on a small child's chair. Ashton and Logan spar verbally, it was funny but could have been a bit shorter. It gets to a point to where Ashton just READS! Chase and then glitter bombs him. Shawn Dean runs out and attacks Ashton. Ashton gets beat down, and Chase gets the last words in.
The Washington Bullets (Jon and Trey Williams) vs. Not Yet Rated (Jordan Kinglsey and Kevin Ryan)
NYR in control in the early portion of the match. The Bullets take over and isolate Kingsley. Jon runs into Trey to create the hot tag opportunity for Kingsley to bring in Ryan. He clears house and gets a near fall on Jon. Trey is able to tag in, but Ryan is waiting for him and gets another near fall. The Bullets rally and hit the Marion Barry for a near fall. The Bullets set up for another double team, but Ryan moves out of the way, and Trey takes out Jon. Ryan dives on them and then Kingsley launches a shooting star splash onto Trey for the pin at 9:53. A high energy showcase was featuring the best of a veteran team and a team of hungry, up-n-comers, B+, almost an A.
The Lynch Mob comes out onto the stage and point at the video screen, and the Mob will face NYR at the Oct 4th show.
Triple Threat Match for the Southern Honor Championship: Corey Hollis vs. Logan Creed vs. AC Mack (c)
AC's says that's he's wrestling under duress. He turns to the camera to mouth off and turns back into a strike by Creed. Hollis tries to splash onto Creed on the outside, but Creed catches him and drops him on the barricade. Creed is focusing on Hollis, trying to get his pound of flesh. Several chops on Hollis' chest leave the crowd wincing in sympathy. Mack rakes Creed's eyes to put Creed on the defensive. Mack and Hollis team up briefly to take down Creed. Hollis spits in Mack's face, and they start fighting until Creed clotheslines both of them.
Logan chokeslam/backbreaker Mack and goes to cover. Hollis leaps off the top and lands on the ref taking him out. Everyone takes a low blow. The spare ref comes out. Logan has Hollis in a pin attempt, and Mack takes out the spare ref. Logan chases Mack around the ring. Logan grabs a table. He sets up for a powerbomb on Hollis, but Mack waffles Logan 's back with a chair.
Gary Lamb comes out with a ref's shirt on to a big pop. NE comes out. Logan fights them off. Jackknife powerbomb on Hollis. NE take out Lamb, Lee Johnson gets him in the face with a knee. NE back on Creed. Double chokeslam, then sit down powerbomb on the NE. Pierce and Judas hit the ring, and they attack Creed. Sunny comes out, and the newly formed Lethal Poison start beating on him. Creed fights them off and topes on NE and Lethal Poison who are on the floor. Logan looks to be bleeding from the ear.
Creed and Sunny drag Hollis into the ring. They peel back the canvas in the corner, they go to double slam Hollis, but Pierce and Judas pull him out of it and then Sunny, and Logan spear them. Mack takes out Sunny and Logan with the belt. Mack is strutting in the ring, shouting that he told everyone that there wasn't going to be a match. Alan Angels' music plays, and he comes out, with a 1x4. Alan takes out the NE 1 by 1 with the lumber until only Mack is left. Mack dodges the initial rush and goes for the Mack 10. Alan fights out and slams Mack. Hollis tries to enter the ring and eats a superkick from Alan. Alan sends Mack into the table then gets Mack back into the ring.
Lamb is trying to stop Alan, but Alan shoves him out of the way, Alan frog splashes Mack. Lamb is getting fed up and blows a gasket, yelling at Alan, Mack, and Hollis. He's tired of the anarchy at every show, so next month at the anniversary show, it will be 2 rings in a steel cage with three members of the three factions, NE, Fear, and Lethal Poison. Whoever scores the pinfall will be the champion in a War games style match. The match was obviously thrown out.
Despite the brouhaha around the crowd size, I felt that this was a pretty darn good show. Some elements did seem rushed but did come together. Still waiting on Matt Lynch's injury status. Huckaby is receiving treatment for a scratched cornea, and Logan Creed had to get some stitches after taking a Pele kick from Corey Hollis. Don't try this at home, kids!
War Games matches are such an unusual creature. I'm not aware of a match where there were three teams, but I'm sure I'll be sent examples of several. The New Era will be represented by Mack, Owen Knight, and Lee Johnson. Lethal Poison consists of Hollis, Pierce, and Judas. The Fear team will be Creed, Daze, and Angels. I know Judas and Creed have War Games experience, but not sure about anyone else.
