From Rob Brodhecker:
Card Subject to Change happened to APCW tonight. Due to various reasons, the entire card but one match got changed. And that one match?? It should have been changed.
It wasn't all bad, several angles started, a double turn gets cemented, and the main event rocked the house, and saw the crowning of a new champion.
David McKinney is your Master of Ceremony. I counted 150+/- people in attendance at Hierway Academy, about a dozen more than last show.
Mckinney introduces The House of Gold, Eric Adamz, and Travis Recon. Eric says that Zach Mosely has food poisoning and can't be here. He goes on to say that his opponent for tonight, Makita, was on tour in Africa, but someone had canceled his plane ticket, and won't be back until tomorrow. As Mosely isn't here, Adamz introduces the newest pledge to the HOG, Corneilous Pepperbottom, and he will be Recon's partner tonight. They haze him a bit and make their way to the back.
The Brothers Crowe (Alister and Dorian with Angel) vs. Oliver Steele and Brandon Shane
F. Time of the match: 10:54. I could use this to rant and rave, and I did for a bit after the show, but I want these guys to improve. Everything is a teachable moment. Acknowledge the mistakes and use this as fuel to get better.
Teddy Long Promo. He calls out Rude Boy. Rude Boy comes out, and Long says that despite Rude Boy's losing streak and various injuries, he's giving Rude Boy one more chance, but if Rude Boy loses, Long suggests that he take some time off, rehab, and work on his wrestling. This sets up the next match.
Rude Boy Rodney Wayne vs. Lamar Phillips
Phillips attacks off the bell. Wayne fires back, and they make a circuit of the outside of the ring. This has been a hard-hitting match-up and a much better one than the first match. Rude Boy wins at 8:45 with a front drop DDT, C+.
First intermission. APCW will be taking December off, the next show will be Jan. 11th.
APCW
Tag Title Match. House of Gold (Travis Recon (c) and Pledge Pepperbottom) vs.
Landon Hale and Jordan Kingsley
This is a much better tag match, crisper with the action. Recon took most of the heat in the early going, then he tags in the pledge. Ooo boy. Kinglsey shows him how to do a chop. The pledgee is the weak link in the match, trainee, maybe (Edit: he is, just a couple of months in. APCW had to fill in fast). Kingsley is taking the heat now. A good near fall on Recon. Recon scores the win at 13:24 with the pledge holding Hale's legs from outside of the ring. Some miscues with the pledge, but this was a much better tag match.C+.
At the last show, Damien Bennett ran into the ringside photographer, Stevie, and damaging her camera. She would like a public apology from Bennett. He comes out to a mixed reaction. Bennett refuses to apologize, grabs her camera, and slams it down on the canvas. Definitely broke now. As a former ringside photog, I'm dying inside. Stevie's not having it and gets in Bennetts' grill. Bennett kicks the camera out of the ring, and Stevie slaps him. Bennett grabs her by the hair and threatens to hit her. Sean Sims comes out and makes the save, beating Bennett down. Sims' former allies, the Brothers Crowe and Angel, come out and attack Sims, leaving him lying on the floor. The double turn from the last show is complete.
Second intermission.
APCW Championship match: Eric Adamz (c) vs. Makita
Adamz asks the ref, McKenny, and the cameraman(Brian Green), if they have seen Adamz' opponent, Makita. They all reply no. Adamz says that he will end the year as he had begun it, as APCW Champion. The bell rings, and Adamz wins by count-out. This brings APCW GM Teddy Long to the ring. Teddy says that since there is no show in December, he's going to give the crowd an early Christmas present. He says that Adamz will defend against Landon Hale. The crowd popped big for that.
APCW Championship Match: Eric Adamz (c) vs. Landon Hale
Adamz has a total hissy fit over this news. Adamz and Hale have been engrossed in a feud for most of the year. Hale showboats on the turnbuckle, and Adamz dumps him over the top. Hale soon recovers and lands the ten punches of doom in the corner. Adamz spills out of the ring and threatens to walk away and take the count-out loss. Long says that if that happens, Adamz will lose the title. Adamz gets in the ring at nine.
Adamz is trying everything to get disqualified, but the ref isn't having it. Adamz is putting Hale through the wringer. Hale is doing an excellent job of selling Adamz's hits. Hope spot cut off with a Russian leg sweep. Hale tried a springboard handstand, but Adamz just caught him and suplexed him for a near fall. Both men up top, Adamz gets shoved off, and Hale hits a missile dropkick. Hale's come back is in full effect, and Adamz bails out of the ring. Hale takes flight, up and over the top rope onto Hale.
Hale gets a near fall back in the ring. Adamz bulldogs Hale for a near fall. Hale gets a near fall. They trade several more before Hale superkicks Adamz and gets the pin at 15:37. Your new APCW Champion is Landon Hale. The face locker room empties out, and they celebrate in the ring. The crowd exploded for the victory, great highs, and lows, A-.
After the disappointment of the first match, the final match more than made up for it. The two men's feud helps them have great chemistry and helped extend the time of the match that didn't drag out. When the show starts back up in the new year, Hale will have a couple of ready challengers in Adamz, seeking a rematch, and Recon, who had pinned Hale earlier in the night in the tag match.
