Attendance at Viral Pro Wrestling: Battle Lines was a Standing Room Only crowd of 319 paid with total attendance at 365. The crowd was hot from start to finish.
The night opened with The Young Professor in a VPW-themed suit (complete with gold shoes) bringing out the main event’s Team Captains to announce a stipulation should their team win. Sean Legacy enters to a massive reaction, followed by Darius Lockhart and The Unknown.
Darius says his stipulation is that if The Unknown wins, no member of Team Legacy can challenge for the title as long as Darius holds it. Legacy’s condition: if his team wins, everyone remaining in the match would get a title shot of their choice. James Kitchens gets on the mic to announce to Legacy that Samantha Starr will not be there tonight and that Legacy can still quit now. It appears that The Unknown will gang up on Legacy, until Team Legacy (minus Samantha) hits the ring and security can barely keep each team apart.

Lucky Ali vs Chip Day
Referee: Chris Wiggins
After costing Chip the title opportunity at the previous event, Lucky was out to prove himself in this match. Lucky Ali has a ton of heat with the VPW audience. In the end, the years of experience of Chip Day prevailed as he outsmarted Lucky with a roll up, taunting the newcomer as he left ringside.
The Ugly Ducklings vs. The Monster Squad(c)
Referee: Shane-O
A fast paced match between two fan-favorite teams, this match had all the action and some excellent character work from Joshua Cutshall as well. This was Mikey Gulino’s official in-ring debut with Viral Pro and a film crew was at ringside filming a documentary (a duck-u-mentary if you will) about the Ducklings as well.
A backstage segment is show with Darius Lockhart awarding Owen Knight with a new Outbreak Title. The International Superstars are frustrated that they still haven’t had a rematch for their tag titles.
Sweetwater Street Fight
Chris Mayne vs. Sixx
Referee: Chris Wiggins
Two VPW Originals who have been staples in the CSRA for the better part of 20 years, this match was brutal. Sixx was seemingly unstoppable as he stalked Chris Mayne around the venue, using everything he could get his hands on (including VPW Owner Josh Hancock’s own seat) to put Mayne down. Mayne outsmarted the Salem Sinner when he could but ultimately couldn’t put him away. This was Chris Mayne’s retirement match for the foreseeable future. After the match the crowd chanted “Thank You Chris Mayne.”

Joe Black vs. Saieve Al Sabah
Referee: Chris Wiggins
Two of the most entertaining talents in the southeast clashed in this matchup. Joe Black didn’t receive much of a reaction coming out (he had not been at VPW in a few years) but within minutes he won the crowd over. The audience was solidly behind both men as the match went to a 15 minute time limit. When the time limit expired the crowd loudly chanted “five more minutes”. The time limit draw caught a ton of heat.
Wrestleforce Championship Match
Cody Vance vs. Erik Darkstorm(c)
Referee: Shane-O
The audience was relatively unfamiliar with both men but Darkstorm won them over. Excellent contest with great technical ability shown and some good heat for Vance. Darkstorm retained the Wrestleforce Title in a great showing for both Vance and Darkstorm.
VPW’s next event will be on April 18th and will be called Undeniable
Battle Lines Match The Unknown (VPW Champion Darius Lockhart, Outbreak Champion Owen Knight, Blanco Loco, Dream Girl Ellie, Montana Black with James Kitchens) vs. Team Legacy (Sean Legacy, Jon Davis, James Johnson, Ashton Starr, Cody Fluffman with Justin Hancock)
This 5 on 5 elimination match featuring both singles champions and a ton of talent had the crowd invested for its entire runtime of around 25 minutes. It looked like Team Legacy would be going into this match one person down, but during their entrance they revealed a returning Ashton Starr! A brawl broke out while Jon Davis sat inside the ring. As members of The Unknown entered, Davis absolutely dominated. Finally, with a setup from Montana Black, Darius eliminated Davis with the Assata Driver.
Team Legacy was in a bad place until Montana Black was eliminated by Legacy, but repaid the favor by laying legacy out before leaving the ring. Every member of Team Legacy was over with the crowd, and the match came down to Johnson, Fluffman, and Legacy against Blanco, Knight, and Lockhart.
Lockhart leveled Legacy with a chair and tossed the chair to Blanco, getting him eliminated from the match. While he argued with Senior Official Chris Wiggins, Kitchens attempted to get involved, only to be pummeled by Hancock to the delight of the audience. Blanco returned the favor by laying out Lockhart with a piledriver!
After Knight was eliminated, Lockhart found himself face to face with Legacy and Fluffman with nowhere to run. Legacy eliminated the champion with a springboard 450 to seal the deal for Team Legacy, earning himself and Fluffman a future title shot.
Lockhart, Knight, and Kitchens backed away from the ring as Fluffman, Legacy, and Hancock stood tall.
VPW Returns with Undeniable on April 18th. Keep an eye on VPW.Ticketbud.Com for tickets.
