From Rob Brodhecker:
What-A-Deal Building, Covington, Ga
This is the second Homecoming show that PCW has held (that I know of anyway), where they welcome back former talent to the promotion for stroll (and sometimes a skip) down memory lane
70+ in the house.
Hardly had a chance to sit down and this happens.
Deon Summerz was working his merch table, Tyrell spots him
and starts mouthing off and then flips the table over and they start fighting.
The refs come out to try to separate them. Cuatro Cabezas comes out and since
he’s in charge while PCW Head Muckity-muck Matt Hankins isn’t here, makes them
fight in a match.
Preshow: Deon Summerz vs Cedric Tyrell in an Unsanctioned
match.
Tons of bad blood here, they are fighting out in the crowd
and some front row chairs get demolished. Some action in the ring, Deon dumps
some water on Tyrell. Action back out on the floor, Tyrell targets Deon’s
ankle. Back in the ring, Tyrell uses Deon’s crocs on Deon (Deon wasn’t dressed
out).Tyrell misses a stinger splash, allowing Deon to attack while on one foot.
Fireman’s carry by Deon but he can’t hold it. Deon hits the spear but Tyrell
rolls out of the ring. Tyrell wrenches the leg of Deon when Deon tries to
follow. Tyrell has a chair and slams it on the trapped leg of Deon multiple
times. Back in the ring, Tyrell targets the leg some more then applies a leg
lock on Deon while repeatedly hitting the knee with a pipe of some sort. Ref Hall calls for the bell at 10:58.
Tyrell wraps the leg of Deon in the chair and then stomps on
the chair to add injury to injury. He struts to the back while the refs help
Deon to the back. And then the show starts.
Jobs starts to introduce the opening match when Duncan
Mitchell comes out along with Warden and Cedric Tyrell. Mitchell is upset that
the opening match is a Platinum Royal and that no one wants to see it. Cuatro,
Smoke, Warhorse, Benjamin, Rembrandt, Thomas, and Honcho all come out along
with referees Darryl Hall, Jynnyfyr Wynns, and Nathaniel Spivey.
Platinum Royal: Everyone listed above except Tyrell who is
watching ringside.
Rembrandt out at 2:10. Tyrell’s running some interference,
preventing Mitchell from getting tossed. Cuatro out at 4:15, he’s looking at
Tyrell who had a hand in his ouster. DJ Smoke out at 5:14. Warhorse is out at
5:33, Warden’s tossed out 3 people so far. Benjamin’s out leaving the final
four of Warden, Mitchell, Thomas, and Honcho. Honcho’s out, leaving Thomas in a
2 on 1. Warden and Mitchell rush Thomas, Thomas lifts Warden over the top and
then kicks Mitchel out at 7:20. Warden had the most eliminations so he and
Thomas will face off to conclude the match.
ButcHer had come to floor area and is watching things next
to Malik; he’s looking very rough.
Big boys doing big boys things: mainly knocking each other
down with power moves. A double clothesline leaves both men flat. Warden rushes
at Thomas and eats a spine buster. Thomas sets up but Mitchell grabs the foot,
allowing Warden to toss Thomas over the top and thus win the Platinum Royal at
9:30.
2: Washington Bullets (Trey and Jon Williams) vs. Big F’n
Deal (Geter and Brian Blaze).
Old school PCW here, two of the most decorated teams in PCW
history. A couple of fans lay into Trey, he fires back and Geter backs him up
on that. Trey’s all fired up and starts laying in fists to the head of Geter,
Geter throws him off. Trey ducking and dodging, trying to get some shots in.
Geter gets him in the corner and lands a chop, then and open hand slap on the
chest. He’s got a family, King! Geter tries for a sit down splash, but Trey
rolls out of the way. Blaze is in as is Jon. Quick tags by the Bullets. Geter runs
around the ring to grab Jon, Trey jumps on Geter, but Geter catches him. Jon
tries to fly, but Geter uses Trey as a missile on Jon. Big F’n Combo on Jon in
the corner for a near fall. Jon’s in a world of trouble, but rolls away from a
Geter leg drop. Hot tag to Trey and he goes off on Blaze who had tagged in. Geter
tries rushing at Trey but Trey pulls the ropes down and is spilled onto the
floor. Trey tries to cover Blaze but there was a blind tag. Geter splashes
Trey, Jon breaks it up. Bullets combo on Geter, Geter just gets the shoulder
up. Geter’s out on the floor and Spivey’s counting but just makes it in. Blaze
tags in and he and Trey are slugging it out. Bullets hit Blaze with the Marion
Barry for the win at 14:54.
All four men are spent and take a minute to gain their feet
and the crowd gives both teams some love. They shake and hug before heading to
the back.
3: Dominic Stuckey vs. Aleksandr Koloff.
Dom’s wearing a Bulldog shirt, he had lost a bet. Dom lays
out his history with Tyson Dean aka Aleksandr Koloff at WrestleMerica and
Lariato Pro. It’s been a while since I’ve seen Koloff in action. Dom’s eager to
show off what he’s accomplished since then. Apart from the first tie up, the
opening minutes are all Stuckey, and Koloff gets frustrated. Dom makes a
mistake and Koloff makes him pay for that. Koloff’s methodical attack is such a
punishing old-school tactic. A jaw jack from Dom gives him some life and gets
Koloff in a leg lock, Koloff has to punch Dom in the jaw to get him to release
it. That punch knocks Dom loopy. He does fire back up, landing some up-tempo
move before landing a falcon’s arrow for a near fall. Dom sets up on the top
rope and he jumps and lands on Koloff for a near fall. Picture-perfect
Spinebuster by Koloff for a near fall. Koloff sets Dom up in the corner, goes
to throw a fist, Dom ducks under and rolls Koloff up for the win at 11:34.
Dom offers his hand and Koloff shakes it but then spine busters
Dom. Rip cord lariat by Koloff and then demands the mic. Koloff address Dom
about Dom’s allegations about holding him down. He also reminds Dom that his
name is Koloff. Wynn and Hall have to help Dom to the back.
Someone’s on the mic, hyping Crown Jewel Records return.
Nina Monet, Marco Polo, ERC, and Mr. 0‘Dub (Carpenter). First time in 13 years,
0‘Dub says that “hey have a new single”. He wants to play it the crowd, but instead
of that music, Nathaniel Vanderbilt and Rose Gold come out. Bilt wonders why
all these old people are in his ring. Bilt exposes who Crown Jewel are. Music
plays once again and the Creeps emerge from the back, dragging out Ref Hall. West
has the mic and offers that despite the Creeps and Bilt’s difference and that
they want to wrestle CJR really bad, they will team up against CJR for an 8-person
tag match.
4: CJR vs. The Creeps (Irving West and Andey Ripley) and Nathaniel
Vanderbilt and Rose Gold.
Creeps, Bilt and Gold argue about who will start, Bilt wins the
rock/paper/scissors for his team. He turns around and into the towel of Polo. Naked
Gun shenanigans ensue. Polo dances with Bilt then tags in 0‘Dub, then Monet,
then ERC; all of them punishing Bilt. Bilt lifts up ERC and backs him into the
corner and Bilt tags out. Heat on ERC. Hot tag to 0‘Dub and he goes off on
everyone. He covers West but west wasn’t legal. This leads to everyone doing a
move spot, ending with Bilt yelling at West and Ripley to get into the ring and
finish this. He should have been paying attention to 0‘Dub, who came in from
behind and school boys Bilt for the win at 7:33.
CJR and The Creep hug and then CJR dance in the ring. As
they were leaving, Martyr runs in behind ERC and hits him with sledge hammer, I
believe. Geter was watching and chases Martyr out of the building. 0‘Dub spots
butcHer and tells butcHer that wrestling’s suppose to be fun, butcHer just
looks off to the side.
Intermission.
Cuatro Cabezas brings us back from intermission, holding the
PCW Dealer’s Choice Championship. In two weeks is Animal house Rulz 3; in which
Hunter James, Skrilla, Trey Shaw, Ryan Rembrandt, the life guard guy, and a 6th
man not named, will face off in a 6-pack challenge. Bryce Cannon was not able
to defend the title, and therefore, had to relinquish the title.
5: Marvelous Michael Stevens vs. Shane Marx.
Marv shenanigans rile up the crowd. They swap control in the
opening minutes. Stevens moves away from a corner splash, but Marx hot shots him
in return. Marx has a trapezius grip but some C&C music factory starts
playing and Marv dances up now, landing moves and making Marx’s legs move. Marx
punches Stevens in the face and then runs to the back to yell at the production
crew to never do that again. Standing sidewalk slam by Marx for a near fall. Marx
calls for the brain buster but Stevens blocks it and plants Marx. They fight in
the corner, Marx trips up Stevens and pins Stevens with his feet on the ropes
for the win at 10:59.
Jobs welcomes PCW Champion Najasism to the ring. Big pop
from the crowd for the champ. He doesn’t want to talk but wants someone from
the Collective to come out and fight. Ref Hall comes out and we wait. Duncan
Mitchell’s music plays and he along with Cedric Tyrell and Warden walk out with
a mic. While Mitchell would love to face Naja, he has moved himself to the back
of the line. He thinks about Naja’s former protégé Tyrell or someone Naja’s
never wrestle before in The Warden. He decides on Warden and the title will be
on the line.
6: The Warden vs Najasism for the PCW Championship.
Naja kicks Warden right off the bell, Warden’s on the floor,
Naja lands double knees. In the ring, Warden catches a flying Naja and plants
him. Naja fighting back, but Warden keeps hitting him back. Naja tries his best
to fire back, but a lariat from Warden turns him inside out. A bear hug from
the big man, Naja is trying everything in the book to break out of it and
finally does. Naja tries some corner to corner move but Warden runs back at him
and squishes him in the corner. More high flying from Naja knocks Warden down
and Naja lands a frog splash to the back of Warden and gets a near fall. Naja
back up top and is looking to do a double rope jump but Mitchel and Tyrell come
out. Naja jumps down on them and things break down with Mitchel and Tyrell
attacking Naja, causing the DQ at 7:16.
The Collective start beating down on Naja, Honcho and Thomas
run out to even things up. Cuatro comes out and makes this a 6-man tag match.
Mitchell loses it but is force into the ring.
7: The Collective vs. Naja, Hawk Thomas, and Eddie Honcho.
Mitchell and Naja are just throwing punches at each other, trying
to get as much punishment in as possible. Naja lands a drop kick and Mitchell
is taking heat from the faces. We even get a Honcho stink face on Mitchell. Honcho
misses a sit down splash and the heat is reversed onto Honcho. Mitchell with a
straight right hand to the back of Honcho’s head, damn. Loads of heel tag
shenanigans on Honcho. A jaw jack on Tyrell leads to a hot tag to Thomas and
things break down with everyone planting everyone else. Thomas spears Warden
and Naja does the double rope jump and then encourages Honcho to jump off the
second rope dropping the elbow onto warden and Naja pins Warden at 9:08.
Video plays showing Joe Black, the connoisseur of brutality.
On the 27th, Naja will defend against the killer weight. Damn!
Final Thoughts:
All the typical, zany hijinks you’ve come to expect from
the brain trust at PCW. Hankins was advertised to face off against Martyr in (I
believe) a Loser Leaves PCW match, but obviously that didn’t happen. After
tonight’s attack on ERC, one would think that Hankins would leverage ERC against
Martyr.
Always good to see Aleksandr (Don’t call me Tyson) Koloff
back in the ring. Stuckey’s accusation of Koloff holding the younger talent
down has a fascinating storyline written all over it.
Speaking of Stuckey. IMO, he ended 2022 on the upswing
and with him working multiple promotions, Stuckey could have that breakout year.
It’s quite possible that this feud with Summerz and
Tyrell will end with someone in a bloody mess. And I’m okay with that.
I wasn’t around for the Crown Jewel Records first run at
PCW; I’m sure that was a trip and a half.
EVERYBODY DANCE NOW!!! Come and on and sweat! SWeAAATTT!
