From Tania Shaw:
Oh, what a night at KLT on Saturday, August 19th! Fans witnessed an evening of electrifying wrestling action, emotional confrontations, and an unexpected question.
The night began with a surprising announcement as Jeremy D. Leight, KLT ring announcer, called his family up and popped the question to long-time girlfriend. She said yes, prompting cheers from the audience and setting a positive tone for the evening.
However, the atmosphere quickly shifted when Chris Kamikaze defended his actions in a controversial address. He boldly declared that he no longer wrestled for the fans, inciting boos and chants of "boring" from the unhappy audience. Kamikaze further ruffled feathers by asserting that KLT was not the only promotion available to him and even threatened to leave, labeling the fans as mere puppets. This bold move earned him the wrath of the crowd, who shouted back in protest.
Kamikaze's rant continued as he flaunted his victories in other promotions, notably PTW and ProSouth. The fans expressed their discontent with his attitude, urging him to "go home." As tensions escalated, Tyler Smith, The Regular Guy, made a triumphant return to the ring, causing the fans to erupt in chants of his name.
Tyler Smith wasted no time in confronting Kamikaze, recalling their history that began in 2001 at Pepperell High School in Lindale, GA. He recalled Kamikaze's journey in wrestling and their shared training experiences. Tyler commended Kamikaze's skills and aptitude, stating he is indeed an anomaly. He emphasized that Kamikaze’s recent behavior was beneath his talents. He criticized Kamikaze's chair-swinging antics and offensive treatment of paying fans.
Challenging Kamikaze to a match, Tyler set the stage for a potential showdown that could settle their differences once and for all. This unexpected challenge left the audience buzzing with anticipation.
The night then took another intriguing turn when Sal Rinauro entered the scene, making his presence felt in a unique way. Rocking back and forth in the ring, Rinauro created an air of mystery around his intentions. His announcement about the Southern Showcase's first invitational Six Man Scramble, set for September 30th, added an element of intrigue to his presence. Adding to this surprise, Superstar Jay Lucas made an impactful entrance to the ring. This resulted in a brawl that escalated quickly. Both Kamikaze and Rinauro were chased out of the ring, leaving Tyler Smith and Jay Lucas standing in the ring.
The chaos subsided as KLT Commissioner Brad Barnes took control. He announced an official match between Tyler Smith and Chris Kamikaze for the night. He also announced a match between Superstar Jay Lucas and Sal Rinauro to determine who will take part in the Six Man Scramble at the Southern Showcase on September 30th.
Match 1: Jay Lucas vs Sal Rinauro:
The first match of the night showcased technical wrestling prowess. Sal Rinauro's unique antics and chain wrestling moves added an interesting dimension to the contest. Jay Lucas, equally skilled, kept the audience engaged with counter-moves and near falls. In the end, SuperStar Jay Lucas secured the victory with The Falcon Cutter, pinning Sal Rinauro.
Match 2: Southern Express vs The Golden Boys:
The crowd's enthusiasm was evident, chanting for the Southern Express as they faced off against The Golden Boys. The match began with brains vs brawn as The Dean of Wrestling Cody McKale took on Waylon from the Southern Express. Despite his quick moves and valiant efforts, Cody was no match for Waylon’s strength. Cody was able to tag in his partner Ryan Marx and Waylon made a tag to Josh. The back and forth in this match put the audience on the edge of their seats. It was a spirited effort from both teams, however, the match ended in disqualification due to interference from other members of The Golden Boys. Just when it looked like the Southern Express was overtaken, Gainz and Lightning sprinted out to the ring to intervene and ensured that the Southern Express wasn't left defenseless.
This set up a pivotal segment as Lightning took the microphone to address The Approved. Commissioner Brad Barnes declared The Approved would defend the Tag Team Championship in a cage match at the upcoming Southern Showcase. Although an opponent was not announced for The Approved, fans exploded with anticipation. Commission Barnes also set a match between Southern Express and Gainz and Lightning taking on The Golden Boys in an 8-man tag team match on September 2nd. James Hardy, manager for Lamar Phillips came out and told the crowd that Lamar had the night off. He then called out Damien Darko. When Damien entered the ring, James asked him if they had a deal, referencing that he could create opportunities for Damien. To this offer, Damien responded he could make his own opportunities. And what an opportunity it was, as The World’s Largest Orangutan in Captivity, Big Andy came out and introduced himself as King of the Jungle and challenged Damien Darko to try and take down the King.
Match 3: Big Andy vs Damien Darko:
The ensuing match saw Andy's strength overpowering Damien, leading to Andy's victory. Big Andy challenged KLT Champion Lamar Phillips and James Hardy accepted on his behalf.
Match 4: Chris Kamikaze vs Tyler Smith:
The highly anticipated clash between Chris Kamikaze and Tyler Smith was a rollercoaster of emotions. Tyler's energetic start and submission holds showcased his determination, but Kamikaze's resilience shone through. Ultimately, Kamikaze's submission move took a toll on Tyler, leading to the referee stopping the match. Kamikaze's post-match assault with a chair only fueled the crowd's disdain.
Match 5: Big Andy vs KLT Champion Lamar Phillips:
In a chaotic match, Big Andy faced off against Lamar Phillips. Outside-the-ring action dominated much of the bout, with interference from James Hardy adding to the turmoil. James Hardy was the victim of a vicious head butt from Big Andy. This action backfired as the referee attempted to assist James Hardy and Big Andy had Lamar Phillips rolled up. However, the referee was not in the ring to count. Lamar Phillips was able to escape the pinfall and the match continued. Just when fans thought they had seen the last of Kamikaze for the night, he came in and hit Big Andy with a chair. Lamar Phillips took advantage of this chair shot and pinned Big Andy using the ropes for leverage. Despite Lamar Phillips's victory, the match was marked by its unpredictable nature.
