Billy Buck defeated Will Kaution inside a steel cage to end their long running feud. Buck is the new Classics Champion and the third triple crown champion in SFCW history (joining Adrian Hawkins and CT Keys).
The beef between Nick Halena and Southern Fried owner David Manders escalated beyond reason. Halen baited Manders into getting into the cage with him after the main event. Manders was ambushed by the Approved and brutally beaten by Halen.
Hawkins demanded a title match with Southern Fried Champion Judais for this coming Saturday night in Monroe at Spring Beatings. Also at Spring Beatings: Buck defends the Classic Championship against Aaron Dallas. Halen will square off with Jacob Ashworth in a grudge match.
The crowd at 405 Community Court looked to be well over 300.
The video quality was excellent with Adam Vance and Johnson on commentary.
(1) Matt Sells defeated "Hollywood" Hunter James (with Triston Michaels) in 8:03. Michaels (suspiciously on crutches) provided massive distraction. James took full advantage and addressed Xavier Reyes on the mic. "This brainbuster's for you, puto." Reyes emerged from the dressing room. James started to freak out and got turned inside out by a palm strike from Sells.
The Approved full strength (Halen, Hawkins, Bobby Moore and Rob Adonis) sauntered to the ring. Hawkins' mic work was being drowned out by the "Adriana' chants. Hawkins said he wasn't appreciated and wasn't the fans' hero or savior. The objective was always Judais.
Manders came out to get the money Halen owed him for striking a fan as the last show. Halen said he was giving Manders zero. Manders said then Halen would have zero to do with the show. Anarchy Commissioner Michael O'Rourke appeared out of nowhere and handed Manders a check for $1000 to make good on Halen's fine.
Manders informed O'Rourke that Geter was Halen's opponent in the title match on March 16. Halen was not pleased with the commissioner. Manders spiced things up: The Approved's tag match was happening now with Halen and Hawkins banished to the dressing room.. Halen refused to leave. CT Keys came to the ring holding a steel chair. Approved wanted no part of that.
A dual purpose segment: it heated up Halen and Manders and moved O'Rourke one closer to his demise as commissioner the following week at the Anarchy show.
(2) The Approved (Bobby Moore & Rob Adonis) defeated Marcus Kross & Najasism in 11:50. Naja accidentally knocked Naja down with a springboard kick. Kross took heat. Naja started to walk out on his partner but stopped halfway up the aisle experiencing conflixtion. Naja jumped onto the apron extending his hand. Kross went to tag. Naja jumped down, shot Kross the middle finger and left him to die.
Well played by Naja. He's insufferably arrogant at PCW. It will be interesting to see how Naja's heel persona
(3) Jacob Ashworth defeated Xander Seabolt (with Grappler #2) in 4:38. In one fell swoop, Ashworth foiled Grappler #2's interference and rolled Seabolt up.
Just what it needed to be with Ashworth stepping up in the ring with the Anarchy Champion at the next show. Seabolt's mix of Jim Cornette and Bobby Heenan keeps me entertained.
(4) Adrian Hawkins (with Triston MIchaels) defeated Xavier Reyes in 10:03. Reyes had Hawkins pinned. Triston threw one of his crutches in to stop referee Weakley's to count. Reyes lunged for Triston, who threw his other crutch away and ran to the dressing room. Hawkins caught Reyes unaware with a codebreaker for the win.
Stopping the count on the heel because a crutch appeared in the ring? No wonder Weakley gets booed. I love that Triston played it straight, so to speak, all the way through the opener, like he really needed the crutches.
Southern Fried Women's Champion Crystal Rose was interviewed by John Johnson. Rose gave a heartfelt thank you to the Southern Fried fans. Out came Rose Gold and Nathaniel Vanderbilt to a ton of heat. Gold made excuses for having the shortest title reign in Southern Fried history. Gold told Crystal it was time for somebody younger and hotter. Gold was about to slug Crystal with the title belt when Sells hit the ring. He cleaned Vanderbilt's clock. Gold slapped him. Sells couldn't bring himself to hit her. Crystal stepped in to help Sells, Gold and Vanderbilt escaped stunners in stereo by the skin of their teeth.
A by the numbers segment to set up a mixed tag match for this Saturday night...and give the fans a glimpse of how that match is going to end.
(5) CT Keys vs. Anarchy Champion Nick Halen was ruled a double count out at 12:31. Halen stalled to delay the inevitable abuse Keys was going to dish out. Keys, however, appeared to land badly on his shoulder. Halen was a like a dog with a bone on Keys' shoulder. Keys made a one-armed comeback and tried for The Pounce, but crashed to the floor as Halen stepped aside. Keys was now nursing a knee injury to go with the shoulder. Keys kicked out of the Gamebreaker. The action spilled to floor where both men were counted out.
Two thing were almost certain before the bell rang: (1) With two of the best wrestlers in the state going at it, the match was going to be really good (2) a clean finish was not in the cards.
Postmatch, Halen tried to up the aisle. Manders grabbed Halen by the trunks and tossed him back into the ring and Halen got Pounced by Keys.
(6) Billy Buck defeated Will Kaution (with Jaxon Carter) in a steel cage match to win the Classics Championship in 15:02. Carter tossed a steel chair into the cage. Kaution swung for the fences with the chair but missed. Buck sent Kaution face first into all four sides of the cage. Buck headed for the door. He could have made it out but saw Kaution shooting him double middle fingers and went back for more. Kaution was bleeding from a gash on his forehead. Buck was ready to crown Kaution with a chair shot but Kaution cut him off with a low blow. Kaution used the chair on Buck. Kaution missed a knee drop off the ropes. Buck applied a figure four leglock. Carter tried to climb into the cage. Buck cut Carter off but Kaution brought Buck off the ropes with a Kaution Cutter. Kaution tried to crawl out the door but Buck pulled him back into the ring for another figure four. Kaution shot Buck off sending him crashing into the cage. Kaution started to climb out and saw Buck shooting him the double birds. Kaution sprung up the ropes right into a Buckshot (superkick). Buck climbed out as Carter desperately tried to pull Kaution out of the cage. Buck's feet hit the floor first to win the match.
Buck vs. Kaution had been a great feud and this was the perfect payoff. The animosity had built to where both men gave up opportunities to win the match in favor of dishing out more abuse.
Halen goaded Manders into joining him in the cage. The Approved attacked Manders from behind and threw him into the cage. Halen called Manders a stupid, stupid old man. Halen beat the hell out of Manders, pounding his back with three brutal chair shots while denigrating him on the mic. Manders got to his knees and slapped Halen across the face. Halen beat Manders down some more. Ashworth and Reyes tried to help Manders but the numbers game got to them. Keys came to the ring walking tall to even the odds. Halen climbed out of the cage and ran away to end the show.
The confrontations between Manders and Halen earlier in the evening exploded in violence. Halen was as cold, cruel and heartless as they come. When Manders gets payback, the fans in Monroe are going to blow the roof off 405 Community Court.
