From Larry Goodman:
(1) Jacob Ashworth pinned Joey Hyder with Ashes to Ashes in 1:59.
Ashworth got on the mic. He was standing up for hard working Americans against Russian sympathizer Neal Koloff and his Russian bank accounts.
Red meat for the base. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
(2) Bobby Moore (with Robby Adonis) defeated Tayo in 9:07. Adonis interfered causing Tayo to crash and burn on a frog splash. Moore took Tayo's head off with a lariat.
Approved brutalized Tayo after the match. Zack Buchanan made the save.
Adonis told him he had stepped into a man's world and was in for the beating of a lifetime...
(3) Zack Buchanan (with Tayo) defeated Rob Adonis (with Bobby Moore) in 7:44. Moore interfered. Tayo cut Moore off. Zack pinned Adonis with a super sunset flip.
Star pro wrestling potential the likes of which Zack Buchanan possesses is a rare thing.
Classics Championship Controversy Discussed. Matchmaker Bill Behrens provided the back drop: A time limit draw and a five minute overtime failed to settle the issue at the last show. Naja admitted he always wanted to slap the white of Behrens' face but he really wanted was for Behrens to hand him the champagne Alizé Classics title. Behrens said you couldn't beat him. Naja went nuts about BB lyin. Buck confronted Naja with the truth. The upshoot was a three match series to settle it starting September 7. Naja faked respect for Buck, then caused him to crash into Behrens. Naja blased him with Buck with the belt and hoochie danced standing on his back.
The 35 minute overtime draw at the last show ended a little on the flat side. This segment got them back on track. Naja threatening to slap the white off of BB's face was hilarious. Naja was hilarious in in general.
(4) The Approved (Adrian Hawkins & Nick Halen) defeated Happy Madness (Sal Rinauro & Sunny Daze) to retain the Southern Fried Tag Team Championship in 10:31. Cowabunga on Halen. Happy Madness domination early. Cowabunga on Hawkins. Halen pulled Daze out the ring. Approved on top cheating at will. Vance made the point Approved had champion's advantage, could not care less about a DQ. Moore tried to interfere. Sal surprised Halen with a blind tag and hit the Sal 619. Cowabunga! surprised Hawkins goes to hit Daze with the title belt. As referee David Weakley was getting the belt out of the ring, Hawkins clocked Daze with brass knucks and put Halen on top for the three count.
All aces for a 10 minute match to advance the story. Everybody had their work shoes on
(5) Judais & Todd Sexton defeated Alexander Lev & Joey Hyder in 12:02. Mason Andrews was the guest ring announcer. Kid amazes me. Judias choke slammed Hyder to oblivion. Lev bailed out. Left Hyder to die as Seabolt aptly put it. Judais gave Sexton a crucifix casket drop on top of Hyder for the three count.
Sexton requested that one final match with Judais. Judais said Technical Destruction (the name Judais came up with on the spot) would take the tag team championship on September 7, then Todd could have all the matches he wanted Judais threatened to castrate Hawkins,
Postmatch was gold. Judais got horribly politically incorrect on the mic. Thank God for small favors.
Manders called out whoever it was that attacked Southern Fried Champion CT Keys four weeks ago and stole his championship belt.
Geter appeared carrying the Southern Fried title belt. The announce team was speechless. Manders asked why you? Geter said because he could. There wasn't a man in wrestling or this land that could stop him. Every kid that wins a title in Georgia wants to be the man but The Man was still here. Geter handed the belt to Manders.
Manders said his champion would be there September 7, what about you?
Great promo by Geter. Manders was pitch perfect. Excellent segment.
(6) Hunter James defeated Xavier Reyes in the Dog Fight (26:51). The ropes were removed. JJ anounced the match could be won by knockout or opponent being down for a 10 count. First big spot was James bumping for Xavy's stunner like he was shot out of a cannon. Reyes wore James out with trash can. Action outside the ring now. James used the basketball goal to his advantage. Seabolt called it unique environmental offense. Reyes ankle-locked James on the bleachers. Reyes used metal tongs from the concession stand to pull James up by the ear. Reyes pulled Hunter's belt off and whipped him with it. Reyes smashed James in the head with the ring steps. James bashed Reyes with the trash can lid he pulled from under the ring. James was bleeding from the forehead and looking like a crazy man. Vance said James was bipolar. 450 knee drop to the face off a ladder. Reyes put James through a table with a uranage off the ladder.
They came to their feet on the floor and shot each other the middle finger. Reyes gave James three consecutive powerbombs. James was toast. Tyler Stevens attacked Reyes. James and Stevens untied the mat and pulled up the pads to expose the ring board. Reyes fought back against the odds. Deity tossed the women's title belt to James. He clocked Reyes with the belt and brainbusted Reyes onto the mat rather than the exposed boards. Reyes laid motionless as the referee David Weakley and Dee Byers counted to ten.
This was a great hardcore style match. Reyes went out in a blaze of glory. Both men were at the top of their games. Match deserved a better crowd reactions than it received. Weird they went through the gyrations to expose the ring board and then didn't use them.
With tears flowing down his face, Reyes unlaced his boots and left them in the ring. His wife embraced him in the ring.
An emotional ending to a successful pro wrestling career. Viva, Xavier!
