From Larry Goodman and "The Impact" Jeremy York:
More than anything, it was a gorgeous afternoon on the Beltline. It reminded me of why I fell in love with this city in the first place.

McKenzie Marshall and Drewski introduced the show. Drewski was on live commentary. Marshall did backstage interviews. The ring announcer was "Voice of DSW" Michael Longino.
Among the onlookers: Tyson Maddux, John Ellington, Dee Munny and Jonathan Williams.
(1) Reeves Portman defeated August Artois in 6:52. Drewski said Artois had recently returned to Georgia from a European tour. Artois endeared himself to the crowd with a line that's part of his act: "your father and mother are brother and sister". Portman is based in Florida and has a muscled up physique. Artois mumbled something about steroids. Portman's early show of agility got their attention. Artois threw beer in Portman's face. Portman's powerslam on the concrete got a reaction. Artois got a big near will a blockbuster. Portman won with a coast-to-coast dropkick that didn't quite get make it to the target.A decent opener.
(2) Hunter James (with Dax Anthony) defeated CT Entertainment to earn a match with Zilla Fatu on April (15 minutes mas y menos). James looked like a star. CT's entrance works. He had the crowd behind
him from the jump. His chest looked like hell from all the chops he took at the Atlanta Dairies show the day before. James flexed while while keeping CT grounded. When CT got a roll, Anthony interfered. James talked trash about Fatu. Both men were down after CT's Pele kick. Matchmaker Eric Adamz came to ringside in support of CT. The crowd thought CT had the match won with a great looking moonsault. James did the backflip into the deadlift german for a near fall. CT's tiger feint kick got a pop. Anthony interjected himself and got laid out on the concrete by CT. As CT tried to reenter the ring, James cut him off with a gamebreaker and pinned him with the brainbuster. This match got over huge -- bristling with energy, a strong heel/babyface dynamic and a nice build to the finish. The crowd bit hard on CT's moonsault as the end. James talking about Fatu telegraphed the outcome to the hardcore fans but the name meant nothing to casuals.
I had tickets for the Hawks game and had to miss the rest of the show.
Thank you to Jeremy York for the following:
After the match: Adamz says a lot of great things to CT Entertainment while advising him to not follow the crowd and be his own person instead of joining new faction Strength In Numbers. While CT is leaving the ringside area, Austin Towers and Jay “Alpha” Miller present themselves much to the chagrin of Adamz. Towers says he has had enough of Adams leaving him out and not giving him his fair due. Eric holds up his casted left arm that the Towers attack at an earlier show in Greenville, South Carolina adding he is not cleared for action. On top of not being cleared, he reminds Towers, Miller and the crowd that as Matchmaker he is not allowed by the State Athletic Commission to compete in a match also. This leads Towers to berate Adams until the DSW Matchmaker takes the high road and returns to the back.
Match 3: Tag Team Tournament Semifinal: Austin Towers, Jay “Alpha” Miller VS Professor Pain, Matt “Sex” Sells
-Professor and Alpha start out with some solid back and forth with Pain having the first superiority via some great suplexes and throws. In comes Sells who stacks on his own offense on Miller getting a near fall. Towers gets the tag and business picks up even higher as the big man unleashes his power on both Sells and Pain, swinging control back to the heel team. In the end, Miller and Towers get the victory after a Top of the Tower choke slam on the Professor leads to the 3 count. Miller’s stablemates from Strength In Numbers (Apollo Prince, CT Entertainment) arrived countered by DSW Heavyweight Champion Jacoby Johnson and Najasism to balance the fracas. Naja received the worst of it however as he took significant damage to his knee, jeopardizing his ability to join DJ Smoke later in the night to challenge Towers and Miller in the Finals.
-Austin Towers & Jay “Alpha” Miller def Professor Pain & Matt Sells (to face DJ Smoke & Najasism in the Finals)
Match 4: Gemma Jewels VS Taylor “Quadzilla” Gainz (Best 2 out of 3 Falls)
-For those in the dark about why this was multiple falls, quick refresher: this is not their first rodeo squaring off with one another. Gainz was the lone blemish at this very venue on an otherwise perfect 2024 record for Jewels. Worst part for her was that the loss came at the tail end of the career with no way to rectify it til March of this year. They begin this grudge match with quick action as each looked for the early fall. Gainz was “helped” by Gemma off the top rope that resulted in a nasty fall where she appeared to hit her head/neck on the top and bottom turnbuckle. Taylor recovered in time to get a quick rollup to score Fall #1. Upset by being down 1 to nil so fast, Gemma rebounded to grab control, punishing Taylor with a powerful move set. A counter of a Gainz hold into a DDT awarded Jewels Fall #2. Taylor fought back to take the match back over, attempting a sunset flip. The Six Foot Bombshell had a different plan as she flipped the script on Quadzilla, trapping her in a rollup for Fall #3 and the victory to start the New Realm—Atlanta season on the plus side.
- Gemma Jewels def Taylor “Quadzilla” Gainz (Best 2 out of 3 Falls)
After the match: “The AP” Audrey Allen attacked Gemma while yelling at her about her cheating. After her beatdown subsided, she was confronted by Adamz who calmly suggested there are better ways to make a case and convinced the pride of North Carolina to make her way to the back.
Match 5: Tag Team Championship Finals: Austin Towers, Jay “Alpha” Miller VS DJ Smoke, Najasism
-As the team of Smoke and Naja entered the ringside apron, Hunter James and Dax Anthony set on a sneak attack to crush the spirits and knee of Najasism. Mission accomplished as he had to be helped to the back. Eric Adamz and Nick Patrick tried to come up with a solution other than handing Towers and Miller the belts when a familiar face’s theme could be heard echoing across the New Realm deck: Stunt Marshall. As Nick and Eric seemed both amused and in agreement, our Main Event and title match was back on! The Stunt and Smoke attack was blooming out of rue gate. Utilizing their superior speed, the duo racked up some impressive tactics for a handful of near falls. Towers and Miller battled back however using their outstanding team skills. An inadvertent splash in the corner on official Paul Santa lead to a melee where the rest of S.I.N. battled Johnson while Adamz utilized the cast on his arm to flatten Towers with a pulverizing lariat. Marshall takes this chance to plant Alpharetta with a slam, then the 5 Star Frog Splash from Smoke and we have new Tag Teams champions in Deep South Wrestling!
Takeaways:
-Artois can do no wrong as far as the crowd is concerned. No matter his antics, they love him
-“Hollywood” Hunter James VS Zilla Fatu will be a must watch, and potential match we see on bigger screens in the near future.
-Professor and Sells make a solid team. Maybe we see more of this moving forward.
-S.I.N. sent a few messages and has three members. Feels like the fourth is lurking nearby.
-What affiliation does Dax and Hunter have with S.I.N.? Or was it a one-off hit on Naja to help Miller and Towers win gold?
-Gemma was pushed to a different level by the impressive Taylor Gainz. Might be the best overall opponent she’s had lately. Plus, Gemma is in the best shape of her career and the continual great performances are proof that hard work pays off. Big question: can Adams keep building the already talent rich division around the Six Foot Bombshell?
-How will Naja recover from the knee injury and what is his take on the events of the night?
-Austin Towers and Eric Adamz are on a collision course like two charging rhinos. When will this match up actually take place?
