By Rob Brodhecker:
The first time in a long time, I'm able to catch the ACTION Wrestling live stream on IWTV, titled SPIN. Not sure why this episode is called SPIN, but I'm not smart, just shirtless. IYKYK.
The match that caught my eye was the announcement of Joe Black facing off against Chattanooga's own twink: Anakin Murphy. Other matches announced are Adrian Alanis vs Bobby Flaco, Gary Jay vs. Colby Corino, with the tag titles on the line with the 4825 vs. the IT Couple, and Krule will be making an appearance. Also, Adam Priest challenges Tim Bosby, plus others that I'm too lazy to type out the names for.
Sure, I could copy and paste from the IWTV website, but worked kicked my ass today, talk to the hoof.
Scott Hensley will be your Master of Ceremonies, Mose is doing the play by play. Refs are Darryl Hall, Anthony Rivera, and Kevin Blicker.
Tim Bosby storms the ring at the start of the stream, ending the pre-show match; and laying waste to Grayson Peirce and August Fears. Dylan Hales goes off on the mic. Bosby is suppose to defend the ACTION world title against Adam Priest. Hales is really going off here about Priest and a who's who's name dropping. Priest comes out and it looks like the main event is happening first.
1. ACTION Wrestling World title match: Adam Priest vs. Tim Bosby (c) with Dylan Hales.
Matt "Sex" Sells joins the commentary table. This is going to be a hard hitting affair and the first 90 seconds prove that. Action out on the floor as Priest gets Flair flipped over the turnbuckle. Commentary mentions that this is Bosby's 151st match, his 3rd match was against Priest. Hales interjects himself early and often. Is he trying to win an election in Chicago? Priest dumps Bosby on top of Hales, nice. F5 for Priest after Hales gets Priest during a ref distraction at 10:02. Still ACTION World Champ: Tim Bosby.
Okay, it looks like it's SPIN due to the new ACTION World title.
Scott officially welcomes the crowd and the streaming audience to Tyrone and lays out the usual ACTION ground rules.
2. "Deathwish" Anakin Murphy vs. "Killerweight" Joe Black.
Murphy starts with a chest chop, Black looks incredulous. This doesn't end well for Murphy's chest. His chest is as red as his trunks. All Black until Murphy moves out of the corner and Joe posts himself. Murphy can't get much though and Black turns Murphy inside out for the win at 5:16.
Black offers his hand to Murphy and raises his hand.
3. Arik Royal vs. Darian Bengston.
interesting contrast of styles for me: Royal is very flippy for a big guy, Bengston's stronger than you think. very 50/50 but Bengston rolls up Royal for the win at 8:01.
Next ACTION is July 25th in Fayetteville for a PG-13 show.
Dylan Hales has come out and replaces Sells on commentary.
4. Prince of Old School, Colby Corino vs. Gary Jay.
Two of the sixteen entrants in the 2025 SCI matching up tonight, possible preview of a match there. They trade off on dives through the ropes. Jay's back meets a ring post, ouch! Corino delivers a brain buster on the floor to Jay, rolls him back into the ring, but Jay gets his foot on the rope. Chop fest. Corino pins Jay at 9:08.
Scott plugs the SCI.
5. IWTV World Tag Team Title match: Team 4825 (Jaden Newman and Jameson Shook) (c) vs. The IT Couple (BK Westbrook and Ella Envy)
This is 4825's first title defense. One of the belts is missing, apparently Cabana Man Dan, absconded with it at a TWE show. Oh lord, Envy's speaking. Nails going across a chalkboard sounds better. Newman with a bit of coitus interruputus, Envy's not happy. The IT's take over after Newman takes a hellacious spill over the top rope with Shook taking the heat. Both of them confront Ref Hall, allowing the hot tag to Newman. He goes off on BK, Envy breaks up the pin. Tandem Boston crabs with some liplocking by the ITs. Chokeslam/neckbreaker combo on Envy. BK eats a double team and 4825 are still champs at 10:25.
just need to find out what 4825 means. Oh look, I see people I know in the crowd, go figure.
10 minute intermission.
6: Adrian Alanis vs. Bobby Flaco.
Alanis does some great crowd work. huge pop for Flaco. Def an up-tempo match. Flaco's been a jet setter recently. I really enjoy watching these guys......wrestle. Flaco wins with a crossbody at 6:46. Alanis with a big boot after the match, leaving Flaco flat on the mat.
Flaco with the mic: He'll be in Mexico for 3 months, starting in Sept. Alanis was his best friend, so the next show it will be a street fight between them.
7: Representing the Good Hand-Kasey Owens with Suge D and Tyler Stevens vs. Alex Kane.
The best looking wrestler?? Really Dylan?? Former Good Hand stablemates collide, how much will Suge and Stevens play into the match. My stream blipped, I guess the match started but it didn't last long as Stevens attacked Kane. Winner by DQ: Alex Kane. Top Team comes out to make the save.
Kane with a promo, then he and Top Team dive on Good hand ringside. Looks like a trios match
8: The Good Hand (Suge D, Kasey Owens, and Tyler Stevens) vs Top Team (Terry Yaki and Jay Lucas) and Alex Kane.
This is going to be nuts to describe, so go watch the video. Owens pins Yaki with a roll-up with a bunch of tights in his hands at 10:53.
Top Team and Kane chase The Good Hand out of the front door. Big Dave from New South comes into the ring with all of that going on and grabs the mic from Scott. Dave's promo gets interrupted by the monster Krule and this will be a New South title match.
9. New South Title match: Big Dave (c) vs. Krule.
The action starts as Krule makes his way ringside with both men fighting around the ring. Some fans get some shots in on Dave. Dave reverses a floor suplex attempt, the crowd has scattered. They fight their way back into the ring and the match officially starts. Big bodies are flying. The rest of the New South contingent run out and attack Krule. DQ at 2:22.
Dump Sanders, CMD, and Sean Christopher. Triple belt shot to Krule leaves him laying flat. 4825 run out with Bosby to chase them out of the ring. the rest of the lockerroom come out wanting them some, serious bad intentions happening. They left the one IWTV belt that they stole, so Newman gets it back. Giffin apologizes for the jackasses from Alabama and the fourth or fifth best promotion in the South. Griffin gives Sanders for Aug 22nd, ACTION's best 3 (4825 and Krule) vs New South's best 3. This ends the show.
Final Thoughts.
Edited to add in the names of the third referee and the wrestler of the pre-show match.
Team 4825 refers to the address of the TWE arena, where, obviously, TWE runs and where the SCI has run and will again run.
One of the IWTV tag belts was "absconded with" at the previous New South show after an altercation betwixt Team 4825 and various individuals from New South.
