From Larry Goodman:
This show had far more than the usual build: three title matches including the highly anticipated rematch between Julius Pryor and AJ Black plus the macabre devil's triangle handicap I Quit Match.
AJ Black emerged from the All-Out title match with his first taste of ProSouth gold and was immediately put in his place by the highly decorated and former three-time All-Out Champion Eric Silva.
Ace Haven's first defense of the ProSouth Championship was successful but Ace paid a heavy price and has Scott Spade gunning for him.
Former ProSouth Champion Caeden Ooten will be relegated to joining the referee corp.
Brandon Whatley shared the announcing duties with Wicked Nemesis and Mathias Darkthorne. Whatley is starting to get in synch with them. Jeremy Blackson, Joseph Void and T-bird (he's back!) officiated. Darkthorne's voice was ailing so Amy Haven handled the ring announcing. Jessie was on the rover camera.
(1) Grudge Match: "The Diamondback" Christian Pierce defeated "Sleazy C" Caeden Ooten in 8:33. Sleazy C accused Pierce of screwing him over and over again. That was OK because he had a plan. The loser of this match would become a referee. Pierce asked the crowd if he should accept the stip. The crowd said yes. Amy said it made no sense but it sounded like a fun way to start the show AND that referee could not be touched in any match.
Back and forth, tit for tat. Ooten with springboard right hand for two. Lots of striking going on. Pierce hit Once Bitten but was slow to cover and Ooten kicked out. Ooten speared Pierce and was stunned when Pierce kicked out. Ooten played possum on Pierce's cannonball and went for Loaded Gun Complex. Pierce escape and moments later caught Ooten with Once Bitten for a clean win.
Ooten's woes since losing the ProSouth Championship and parting ways with Harley continue. Surely creative has something up it's sleeve with C becoming a ref. We just don't what it is yet.
(2) Scott Spade defeated Justin McKenzie and Christian Garrett and Brother Azriel to retain the YouTube Championship in 6:27. Spade had a bone to pick with Amy. He said the conspiracy continues at 259 days into his title reign. Amy was making him put the his title on the line in a fatal four way and standing in the way of his shot at Big Blue. He already put McKenzie in his place. He had no beef with Az and had no idea who Garrett was. Speaking from experience, Darkthorne said he didn't think Amy cared if it was fair.
A nice piece of business from Spade. He had a legitimate point. The Havens are great babyfaces but also formidable heels when they choose to be.
Spade deposited McKenzie outside the ring. Az and Garrett played ping pong with Spade until he was toast. Garrett and Az exchanged blows until Az planted Garrett with a uranage. McKenzie broke up the pin. Spade shitcanned McKenzie again. Spade took advantage of the situation as he is wont to do. McKenzie zeroed in on Spade and connected with a Disaster Kick. Garrett broke up the pin. McKenzie and Garrett had words. Az abused the both of them. A Garrett/McKenzie double dropkick took Az off his feet. As McKenzie was going for Sliced Bread 69 on Garrett, Spade rolled McKenzie up from behind.
Somebody came up with a good layout and the work was crisp. I don't care what Spade says, he's not done with McKenzie.
(3) AJ Black defeated Julius Pryor to win the All-Out Championship in 9:55. The match opened with a long intense lock up. Black punched Pryor in the face on the break. Strikes galore. Black's draping DDT forced Pryor to use up the one ropes break each competitor is allowed under All-Out rules. Pryor kicked out of Black's codebreaker. Pryor landed a pair of jumping side kicks and got a two count with a modified Blue Thunder Bomb. But Pryor missed with the tornado kick and hurt his knee in the process. Black hit a springboard cutter to win the championship.
Good not great. They worked hard and did a lot but some of it not was not as cleanly executed as I'm sure they would have liked.
No sooner was Black holding the title, the lights went out and the new champion got laid out by Silva with Collateral Damage. Silva picked up the belt and set it on Black before departing.
(4) Ravana Xin defeated Cameron Keast and Harley Haven in a handicap I Quit Match (16:49). Keast and Harley executed a Chosen Ones style assisted Keyblade. Keast snapped Xin's finger one by one. Each time, Xin refused to quit. Xin sprinkled a tub of tacks on the canvas. Keast dumped out a box of Legos. Xin backhanded Keast. This activated Psycho Cam. Harley slapped him. Keast snapped his own fingers. Xin decked Harley and pulled a kendo stick from under the ring. Whatley said Harley was going to pay for getting involved in grown folks' business. Xin lit the kendo stick on fire. Keast took a flaming kendo stick to the back to spare Harley. The flame went out before the stick made contact,
Back inside the ring, Xin dropped Keast face first into the tacks and draped Harley across the ropes for a running butt drop. Keast cut Xin off with superkick and gave her full nelson slam into the Legos. Xin powerbombed Keast in to the tack and Legos. Keast wouldn't quit. Xin stuffed Legos in Keast's mouth. Keast shoved Legos in Keast's face. Xin knocked the wind out of Keast with a butt drop in the corner and handcuffed Keast to the ropes. Harley tripped Xin sending her face first into the Legos and brought a chair into the ring. Harley gave Xin a series of chair shots to the back. Harley fished the keys to the cuffs out of Keast's ring jack and tried to throw them to Keast but Xin stopped her. Harley then dug a screwdriver out of Keast's jacket and tried to stab Xin. Xin took the screwdriver out of Harley's hand and pulled out a pliers. Xin used the pliers to rip the septum piercing out of Harley's nose and jammed the screwdriver into Harley's nose. Harley started screaming but refused to quit. Keast was in anguish and quit to prevent further torture to Harley. Xin continued to threaten Harley with the screwdriver and demanded the vial, then left the ring wearing Keast's ring jacket.
A grotesque match. The wrestling moves were plodding and labored. It reminded me of Platinum era PCW at its worst. If your tastes in wrestling run toward the sadistic end of the spectrum, there was the forced extraction of Harley's septum piercing. Of course the kendo stick extinguished on its own. Keast and fire do not mix. The coveted vial never materialized so I guess this bizarre feud continues until it does.
(5) Karmageddon (Ayden Andrews & Bubba Cagle with Scott Adams) defeated Bloodborne (Alexander Lincoln & Joe Wood) to retain the ProSouth Tag Team Championship in 9:30. Blood Born hit The Harvesting (assisted cutter) on Andrews. Wood covered. Referee Blackson did not see Andrews maneuver his foot on to the rope a nanosecond before his three count. Bloodborne's hands were raised as the new champions. While Adams was lobbying Blackson, Blood Born sat on the apron drinking Dr. Peppers to celebrate their hard earned victory. Blackson snatched the belts out of their hands. Cagle kneed Lincoln to the floor. Andrews hit Nail on the Coffin as Wood got back in the ring and Karmageddon retained.
The match was fine. The finish sucked. It took forever for Blackson to decide Andrews' foot was on the ropes and call for the match to continue.
(6) Ace Haven (with Amy Haven) defeated Cody Windham (with Scott Adams) to retain the ProSouth Championship in 14:39. Match immediately got off on the wrong foot. T-bird made the rookie mistake of calling for the bell before putting the dog collars on the wrestlers. Adams got entangled in the chain whether he liked it or not. Most of the big spots took place outside the ring. Ace delivered a leg drop off the apron to Windham on the floor. Windham gave Ace a suplex off the stage which temporarily took out the rover camera. Windham dropkicked Ace off the top rope to the floor and got dragged over the top by the chain.
Windham decided to waste the ref with a piledriver. Ace got a three count on Windham with Endgame. You know the drill. Adams attacked Ace and put him down with clothesline. Amy got in the ring and fired a chair at Adams. Windham slugged Amy in the face. Cagle and Andrews attacked Ace. Bloodborne took their sweet time entering the ring. They took out Andrews and Cagle. Windham went after them with a chair but it rebounded off the ropes into Windham's noggin. Bloodborne laid Windham out with the Harvesting. Ace draped an arm over Windham. Referee Void slid in to count. But Windham rolled a shoulder at 2 and 15/16. Windham sent Ace headfirst into a chair wedged between the ropes and set up for the piledriver but decided to use the chair. He clotheslined Ace out of the chair and set Ace up in the chair again. Amy tripped Windham up and Ace gave Windham a piledriver on the chair to retain.
Ace could hardly stand up so Amy could raise his hand. Spade hit the ring. He shoved Amy down and gave Ace a stunner.
Spade was holding the YouTube title and Big Blue as the screen went to black.
Ace Haven Especial overbooking. The added falls count anywhere stip gave this match a different flavor than the usual dog collar affairs. It was unclear what T-burd did to deserve the piledriver except he a lousy ref. The dropkick spot where Windham got dragged over the top rope looked tremendous. Spade has next up.
