From Larry Goodman:
Nathan Mowery's Blood and Honey finished up their 2025 series of deathmatch shows with one that was borderline psychotic, an impactful experience on multiple levels.
Mr. Danger took the DWA Ultraviolent Championship from Georgia's deathmatch messiah Mowery.
Attendance continues to grow. No idea how many were paid, but their were 250 bloodthirsty ladies, gentleman and everything in between outside Monk's Meadery Sunday night, 50 at best for their first show last year.
Mowery gave a brief primer on the hazards of watching deathmatch. There was gonna be blood and glass and most importantly MOVE!
Let me say the lighting was perfection.
(1) Traditional Pro Wrestling Match: Mr. Hateful defeated Karson Rogers (with Jazzy Yang) in 6:40. Two trainees from Jimmy Yang's school, both too green to be good pro wrestlers so this was a lousy way to start the show.
Hateful was choking Rogers out so Jazzy got on the apron to distract. Hateful speared her. Rogers clotheslined the ref by mistake. Jazzy got in the ring and busted a light tube over Rogers' head. Hateful speared Jazzy again and pinned Rogers.
(2) Spectre defeated Zicky Dice in 10:30. They wrestled for a couple of minutes. Dice choked Spectre with a Chucky Doll. He did his card trick and used one the cards to paper cut Spectre between his fingers. The natives were getting restless about the lack of blood.
Dice powerbombed Spectre into the flatscreen TV propped up in a corner. The screen didn't break. Spectre appeared to take the bump on his neck in a contorted position. No give. Looked horrific. Dice dumped Legos on the mat. Crowd loved that. Spectre took a backdrop into the Legos. Dice powerbombed Spectre into the TV again. SOB still didn't break. For the finish, Spectre gave Dice a straight jacket piledriver into the Legos.
The bump Spectre took into the flat screen looked absolutely sick but he looked fine b after the match and swore he was OK.
Postmatch, Spectre smashed the TV and got into a (non-physical) confrontation with scheduled opponent Effy, relegated to commentary due to injury.
(3) Tank (with the Rev) defeated Matt Griffin (with Young Boy Cooper) in 7:47. If it was blood the people wanted, they got it here. Griffin was smoking a cigarette and showered with words of encouragement of the "f*** you Matt" variety.
Rev entertained the "sexual deviates and marijuana smokers" with a great telling of the back story -- Griffin was the CEO of ACTION Wrestling. He exploited his workers and paid them slave wages. He first tried to get deathmatch wrestling in Georgia shutdown, then he beat up Rev and Tank's compadre CJ Lawler and had been undefeated in Blood and Honey. This was his trial and Tank would be judge, jury and executioner.
Griffin went through at board at the opening bell. Crowd called for a dick twist. Tank instead took a sickle to Griffin's head to get the blood flowing. Tank then stuck the sickle up Griffin's ass. Tank gave Griffin the dick twist the crowd had been longing for. Griffin blasted Tank with a crutch lined with plastic forks. Griffin's tube shot missed the mark and a shard hit me in the arm but no damage done. Young Boy Cooper took a tube shot in the head from Griffin and got some nice color. Griffin dug the edge of broke glass into Tank's head and he bled. Tank got thrown threw a barbed wire board. Cooper's payback on Griffin was hell in living color.
Tank pinned Griffin with a fisherman suplex. As Tank likes to say, it was easy, maybe not so much for Griffin.
Tank said that made him undefeated in Blood and Honey. The crowd brought more FUs forth for the now beaten Griffin.
(4) Hardcore Hillbilly defeated Brian White via submission in 9:35. Lindsay Snow was the special referee. This match called for someone special. White is a masochist of the highest order. He was out to avenge the cruelty he suffered at Hillbilly's hands at Blood and Honey 4. White drew first blood with busted up black light tubes. The action moved outside the ring where Hillbilly sent White into a Christian cross of tubes. It was Sunday after all. White's back was a mess. Hillbilly gave White a death valley driver into a kiddie pool of lemon water. White was writhing around and letting loose with blood curdling screams. None of these guy do agony like White. He got off a loud stop sign shot on Hillbilly before taking a bump onto a sheet of dry ice. Hillbilly put White through a sheet of plexiglass with a cannonball and choked him out.
For creative, sadistic use of gimmicks, this match took the cake.
Afterward, this happened. All White's fault.
(5) Jamesen Shook defeated Keelin Cole to retain the H2O Hybrid Championship in 17:40. Cole was a death match virgin. Never would known it. Shook admittedly loves this shit. I was surprised they went long this being Cole's first time and all.
They had the most physical match on the card in the traditional pro wrestling sense. The wrestling in the first two minutes was so good, a crowd that came to see something else applauded.
Cole did a light tubes/slingblade combo. Shook took a monkey flip into a bed of paver stone. That had to suck. Shook headbutted Cole with a tube bundle and exploded a tube on his back, then dug the tube edge into his back. Shook has mastered the art of light tube use. Blood cam dripping down Cole's back. Cole was taking a whole lot of damage. Cole took a thudding bump to the ground outside the ring. Cole fired back and bloodied up Shook. They fought all through the seats, crowd hating Shook and all in for the ATL guy. Back inside, Cole took glee in pounding a gusset plate into Shook's head. Shook took a bump through a plastic panel, shattering it into a million pieces. Cole hit a top rope double stomp onto a tube. Shook low-blowed him and scored a bullseye with home run swing light tube bundle.
Shook used an avalanche Phantom Driver to put Cole through a pane of glass bridged across chairs. Spectacular. Might have stolen the show.
Shook put Cole over huge after the match. I later asked Cole if he got he got deathmatch out of his system. Cole said he thought yes and put that in your report.
There was a short intermission after each match because of the clean up. This one was extra long because the crew was trying to set up this giant light tube mouse trap structure at ringside and never could get it the way they wanted it.
(6) Lil Sicko (with Sadistico) defeated Tommy Trainwreck in 9:37. Trainwreck cut a promo guaranteed to ensure hate. Out of the ring in no time, Trainwreck slammed Sicko on a skateboard covered with black lights. The mouse trap structure slammed on their heads and they got up leaking blood like crazy. Sicko went coast-to-coast with a gusset plate skateboard. Sicko did an Orihara moonsault. Yup. Trainwreck brained Sicko with a pole encased in a mass of light tubes. The ensuing explosion was amazing. Trainwreck speared Sicko through what was was supposed to be a flaming plastic panel. Referee John Ellington squirted a ton of lighter fluid but nothing was going to get that thing to stay lit. Trainwreck's pant though there was dicey moment when Trainwreck's shirt caught fire. Sicko pinned Trainwreck with a moonsault while holding the gusset plate skateboard.
After what Shook and Keelin had done and deathmatch kingpin Mowery coming up, this was a tough spot on the card. The explosion of from the pole of light tube was visually incredible. Trainwreck's pants stayed lit long enough to make it a tense moment.
(7) Mr. Danger defeated Nathan Mowery to win the DWA Ultraviolent Championship in 12:30. The ring was lined by 60 light tubes tied into the ropes and they did their best to use all of them. Danger struck first with a senton onto Mowery covered with light tubes. Mowery went to a gusset plate. Danger hit a springboard leg drop onto tubes and ground the glass into Mowery's head. Mowery powerbombed Danger through glass. Crowd started pulling for Danger. Mowery took a gusset pounding. They exchanged a zillion light tube shots, kept pulling them out of the ropes. Epic blood. Mowery did a flaming kneedrop onto a light tube bundle.
Crowd losing their minds, Mowery got thrown off the top rope through a spider web of barbed wire. Mowery climbed out of the wreckage and kicked out at 2.9. Danger won with a 450 onto a giant light tube bundle and hit it perfectly.
incredible match. Mowery's bump through the spider web of barbed wire was the stuff stunt men are made of. Their crimson masks were the blood freak heaven.
Danger said it was an honor to become champion after all Mowery had done for deathmatch wrestling Georgia. Danger made a point of saying the first DWA Ultraviolent Champion Chip Skyler quit wrestling to become a preacher.
Mowery put Danger over, total send them home happy ending, and said see you crazy MFers next year.
