From Lawrence Goodman:
Having two YouTube champions is ridiculous. Ace Haven holds the legitimate "lineal" championship. Though she's not a wrestler, Harley Haven won the "recognized" version of the championship last week. Rather than doing a heartwarming father-daughter title reunifcation scene, leave it to ProSouth to take the road less traveled.
Harley rejected an offer to hand her title over to Ace. Commissioner Amy Haven stacked the deck against her daughter as high as it could be stacked. The Process regained possession of the recognized version with Amy herself holding the belt in her hot little hands at the end of the night. Ace will have to defend the lineal version against TragiCK in a Three Stages of Hell match on July 10.
Harley and Cameron Keast's plan to free "the mask that wears the man" from Amy's control was called into question by the events that transpired in the closing segment of the show.
In addition to the above storyline developments, this week's episode had two good wrestling matches. JT Paradox had another strong outing. It in-ring talent matters, Paradox should be in the championship conversation.
Wicked Nemesis and Mathias Darkthorne were in fine form in the commentary booth. Mathias ring announced. The referees were Joseph Void and Lou. Emma was on the rover camera.
I really liked the match. The crowd was deathly quiet. The ProSouth fans are not a vocal lot of late and I suspect they were perplexed by JTP's personality change but ProSouth could really use the help on the babyface side. The kind of explosiveness Paradox possesses cannot be taught. I'm here for a Joe Black/JTP match in a ProSouth ring.
Harley Haven was hailed as the new recognized YouTube Champion. She got not one word out of her mouth before her father's intro music hit. Ace came onstage with Scott Adams at his side. Adams asked Harley why not just give her title to Ace. Harley declined. That was not part of the plan she and Cam had.
As a performer, Harley is all about body language and facial expressions. She's the Marcel Marceau of professional wrestling.
Amy and TragiCK entered the ring. Amy had a different plan. She said Ace had made her life and the life of their family hell. Ace would have to defend his YouTube Championship against TragiCK on July 10 in a Three Stages of Hell match.
Ace confronted TragiCK. Said he wanted to speak to his friend that was in there somewhere. He wanted to speak to the blue light, his old friend Cam. TragiCK's collar light momentarily flickered. Ace said TragiCK was a rabid dog and did not have a thought in his head besides what Amy told him to do. Ace had heard talk of a plan but TragiCK had glossed over the part where Ace took each and every member of the Process, dismembered them, threw them in different bodies of water in little bags and was done with this mess. TragiCK wasn't going to fight him unless Amy ordered it and she was not going to do that because that was not part of The Process. Ace tried to goad TragiCK into fighting him not because Amy wanted told him to but because he wanted to. Ace said TragiCK could not do it because Cam would not let him. Ace stared the leave the ring. TragiCK tried to throw a fireball at Ace's. Nothing happened and a flame briefly flickered on the mat. Ace clutched the back of his head like he had been burned.
This was rough. The mic was screwing up TragiCK's fireball was like one of Cameron Keast's miserable fizzles. Crowd was dead.
Harley was on her way out. Amy said not so fast. You're booked in a match against me...and the entirety of The Process.
(2) "President" Jon Averson defeated Wyn Brantley 6:16. Brantley said he was tired of people talking about his losing streak. Brantley was confident it was not going to happen BUT if he lost tonight, he was leaving ProSouth.
Brantley jump started the presidential references by saying he would impeach Averson, who Darkthorne called a perpetual journeyman. It was the match that asked the question: just what was Averson the president of?
Brantely went for the Playmaker DDT. Averson reversed it with a whatamanuever for the win.
Brantley took off his boots, his kickpads and his belt and left them on the mat. Averson hit Wyn in the "brantleys" with his "Re-elect Averson" placard.
The perverse wrestling entertainment potential of the situation was fully realized. In the end, Brantley won me over and I hate to see him go. He died with boots off at 0-12 and suffered the ignominy of losing to President Averson twice.
(3) Oliver Green defeated Will Huckaby in 1:52. Green apologized for being disrepectful last week when he said Huck hit like a bitch. He knew Huck was old and didn't know much about technology. Green asked for the custom entrance video he made for Huck to be shown. The video started out OK then switched to a close up of a beehive. Huck started to laugh the video off like it was all in good fun, then decked Green with the Right Hand of God and beat the living shit out of him, Huck had Green in his torture chamber until Green ducked Huck's short arm clothesline and rolled him up with feet on the ropes.
The announce team put over the fact that Green has now pinned both members of the Sound and the Fury (Joe Black and Huckaby) in 2026.
I have to hand it to Green, the kid has moxy and can absorb a ferocious beating. Huckaby has been the perfect crusty veteran badas to highlight those characteristics.
Pillow Talk with Sleazy C. Ooten called KJ Valentine out. Valentine said nobody had beaten him and it was going to stay that way. Vougan made his way to the ring and demanded his rematch Valentine said he was looking past the dumb blonde that interrupted him. He wanted fight someone who had the pedigree of champion. Ooten said that would be him. Valent changed his mind about Vougan's rematch i a heartbeat. Ooten said this was his talk show and the host gets to make the rules. Ergo, he was granting himself the title match and Vougan could sit down and watch.
(4) KJ Valentine defeated Caeden Ooten (with Harley Haven) via DQ to retain the All-Out Championship in 4:18. As the combatants were battling at ringside, Valentine came off the apron with a double stomp to Ooten's back and got in Vougan's face. Vougan slapped KJ and referee Lou called for the bell.
Ooten harpooned Vougan. Commissioner Amy Haven was incensed about Ooten putting his hands on talent that was not involved in the match and banned Ooten from the building. Furthermore, Amy said that anyone who dared to interfere in the main event would also be banned.
Security guy Jamie was given the task of doing Amy's dirty work. Ooten planted Jamie on the ramp with a Loaded Gun Complex. Ooten tried to go back for sloppy seconds but the LGC fell apart mid move so Ooten stomped Jamie's head into the ramp. Some sickos in the crowd were yelling "one ore time". Ooten decided to leave the building of his own volition.
Poor Vougan. It's long drive from Atlanta to be told to sit down and watch. Poor Jamie. What did he do to deserve that? Valentine is outsleazing Sleazy C.
(5) True Grit (Christian Pierce & Julian Balderas) defeated Dark Passion Assassins (Neji Ichiban & Dante Darko with Stella Randy) and Rebirth (Damon Thomas & Ryan Wyndell) to retain the ProSouth Championship in 7:17. True Grit and DPA joined forces to decimate Rebirth. The babyfaces teams then went at it. Darko missile dropkicked Ichiban into a chain reaction pin attempt on Balderas. Wyndell returned with lows blows for Balderas and Ichiban. Pierce tagged in with a lariat from hell for Ichiban and a reverse piledriver on Darko. Thomas hit a cobebreaker on Pierce. Balderas planted Thomas with a black hole slam. Wyndell tried to sneak in a belt shot on Balderas. He saw Wyndell coming and heaved him over the top rope onto to other four competitors. Darko ran wild on True Grit. Darko tried to come off the top and got dumped by Rebirth. Wyndell cracked Pierce in the head with one of the belts. Balderas broke up the pin and went one against two until he got taken out by a Rebirth combo move. DPA then had Thomas pinned with a double team manuever. Wyndell attacked them using the Union Jack as a weapon. After dispatching with DPA, Wyndell found himself alone in the ring with True Grit. Wyndell went one against two with newly found courage. True Grit caught Wyndell with their flapjfack/Once Bitten combo and he was pinned by Balderas.
Post match, Thomas stood on the stage with both title belts. True Grit had Wyndell in the ring begging for his life and told Thomas to hand over the belts. Thomas left with the belts. Balderas cut Wyndell in half with a spear. Pierce laid Wyndell out again with Once Bitten and brought a chair into the ring. True Grit drove Wyndell's head into the chair with an assisted Pedigree.
This was a fun, action-packed triple threat tag. Darko's work has gotten crisper. Balderas did the power and strength stuff. Wyndell's punches looked like crap. After the way True Grit murdered Wyndell, I would not want to be Damon Thomas when they gets their hands on him.
(6) The Process (ProSouth Champion Joe Black & Ayden Andrews & Joe Wood & TragiCK & Amy Haven) defeated Harley Haven to win the recogniized YouTube Championship in 2:04. TragiCK's collar light turned blue from being in close proximity to Harley. He attacked the Process and confronted Amy but was quickly subdued by a lariat from Black. Harley spit the mist in Joe's eyes. Andrews laid Harley out with a flying knee. The Process dragged Harley to the center of the ring. TragiCK lunged at Joe before choking Harley out. Joe prevented Harley's hand to drop for the third time and rolled her over. Amy hooked the leg and pinned her daughter.
Joe presented Amy with the recognized YouTube belt. TragiCK's agonized state subsided as his collar light turned green.
Cruelty is the name of the game for The Process. Looks like Cam and Harley's plan is not working...at least not yet.
