From Larry Goodman:
The gimmick: fan voting would to some degree determine the course of events for the evening.
The Process in the form of Ayden Andrews and Joe Wood are the new tag team champions. They ended the second title reign of True Grit (Christian Pierce & Julian Balderas) in ladder match.
The team of Justin McKenzie and Oliver Green were added to match as a result of losing out to Caeden Ooten in the voting to face Joe Black for the ProSouth Championship.
Black retained in a grueling no ropes Bloodsport concocted by Commissioner Amy Haven, dashing Ooten's hopes to become a four-time champion for the foreseeable future. The match was C's third shot at Black in the last three months.
Former ProSouth Champion and current Kraken Pro Champion Brother Azriel is the title challenger waiting in the wing. Unchained will headline ProSouth's next major show and Az was announced as the first entrant with a title match going to the winner.
KJ Valentine defeated Vougan in a wickedly enchanting Barbie's Playhouse.
Neither Ace Haven or Cameron Keast appeared on the show, the afteraffects of a Three Stages of Hell match will do that.
The ProSouth crowd is an ongoing problem.
Wicked Nemesis and Mathias Darkthorne on commentary, Mathias handled the ring announcing. Joseph Void was the referee.
Darkthorne revealed the voting tally challenger to face Joe Black for the ProSouth Championship. Caeden Ooten won with 49% of the votes. McKenzie received 39%. Green was a distant third.
Creative math- the percentage total was more than 100%. The deck had been stacked in Ooten's favor with all the mic time he'd been getting. I was hoping for McKenzie.
The Process (Ayden Andrews & Joe Wood) defeated champions True Grit (Christian Pierce & Julian Balderas) and Justin McKenzie & Oliver Green in a ladder match for the ProSouth Tag Team Championship (14:18). Green entered the ring as a solo act. McKenzie took his sweet time coming out to join him and made an impression fast with a sliced bread off the apron into a mass of humanity.
Some big and nasty bumps taken in this match, the biggest of which was Pierce climbing almost to the top of 12 foot ladder on the floor and doing a crash and burn senton into the ring.
Fast forward -- Carnage. Pierce was bleeding. Everyone else was down. Pierce did a suicidal cannonball into a ladder on the floor and Andrews got him with the stomp. McKenzie tried to hop up a ladder on one leg. He had the belts within his grasp when Andrews tipped the ladder over. Andrews pinned McKenzie under the ladder and retrieved the gold.
Sore bodies on Saturday after this match.
Christian Garrett defeated Sean Nelson in 7:53. Garrett said he was surprised to see Nelson standing opposite to him and pandering to the fans. They did not have to do this. Nobody wanted to see it anyway (maybe too close to the truth). He had beaten JT Paradox last week and did not want to make Nelson his next victim.
Good match. Like with Paradox, Garrett won out of the blue with Glycerine.
Garrett has now won three out of his last four singles matches. I was wrong about the direction of Garrett's series of matches with JT Paradox which I though would lead to Paradox as a babyface challenger to Joe Black. I'm curious to see where the Garrett push goes.
Scott Adams said the document he got Amy to sign not only forced TragiCK to defend the recognized (rigged) YouTube Championship (lost to Ace Haven in the 3 Stages of Hell last week), it also gave him the right to name one of the competitors in Unchained He was disqualifying Ace, but he needed someone like Ace who would bitch slap death in the mouth and come out the other side. He needed a killer....
Brother Azriel said Adams was right. He was that guy. He had survived Unchained multiple times. He would take out the competition with one goal in mind -- regaining his ProSouth Championship.
Good to hear Azriel's old music back in place. Fits him like a glove IMO.
Valentine was dressed in pink, kind of like Vougan except not nearly as attractive. The fan voting for the All-Out title match stipulation was revealed. Vougan's Barbie's Playhouse won out over KJ's Doomsday Clock. Valentine was coy about the rules. He accused Vougan of stealing his gimmick and got a punch in the mouth.
Valentine is a slimy authoritarian. He controlled the rules for both possible stipulations and refuse to disclose any rules at all before the match started.
Barbie's Playouse Match: KJ Valentine defeated Vougan to retain the All-Out Championship in 9:54. Vougan threw the powder in Valentine's eyes and hit the Beauty Slam. KJ gutted Vougan with a chair and informed the rules were there were no DQs. Vougan dropped KJ on his noggin with a fisherman suplex. Vougan spanked Valentine with a fancy makeup palette. Valentine spanked Vougan with his mini-baseball bat. This was getting kinky. Vougan went down like a ton of brick after getting smacked with a pillow. Valentine had brass knuck hidden inside. KJ donkey punched Vougan with the knucks and double stomped him with a chair but made a slack cover. Vougan caught KJ with an armbar. KJ tapped and called Vougan a fool. Rules were no submisisons. Valentine exploded a party popper in Vougan's face and pinned him with double stomp off the top.
Probably the best Vougan match I've ever seen. Valentine is dedicated to his art and literally sold his ass off.
Presidential campaign speeches by Wyn Brantley and Jon Averson (even though the voting was over). Averson said his first term had been a good one. If he were to lose tonight, he could walk away proudly but he believed there would be a second run for the United States of Averson.
Brantley was gobsmacked. He had dug into the facts going all the way back to 2018 and Averson was nothing but a pretender.
An extremely pregnant pause prececed the reveal of the winner. Wicked vamped about counting mail ins, hanging chads and waiting for a recount from Georgia.
Lose Brantley won 101% to -1% for Averson. Brantley was in rapture. Averson claimed the system was hacked. Brantley gave Averson a shot up the ying yang, laid him out with an implant DDT and pledged allegiance to himself.
Political satire of another kind.
Bloodsport: Joe Black (with Amy Haven) defeated Caeden Ooten (with Harley Haven) via referee stoppage to retain the ProSouth Championship in 18:46. Ooten immediately caught Joe coming in with a powerbomb. They fought in the crowd. Seven minutes in, the action shifted from fierce strikes to submissions: Koji Clutch by Joe, C with a rear naked choke Joe with a cross armbreaker. Ooten attacked Joe's leg. Darkthorne referenced the serious leg injury Joe suffered some years ago.
Back to the striking. "Put me down for good", said Ooten Joe said, "Make me feel alive!" Ooten did his best to oblige and both were down for a seven count. The match seesawed between brutal strikes and submission attempts. Ooten harpooned Joe. As they got to their knees, Ooten invoked one of Joe's lines -- Are you ready to dance with the devil in the pale moonlight? Ooten unloaded on Joe with vicious strikes. Black went to one knee. Joe measured Ooten and dropped him with a forearm. Ooten tried to rise. Black caught him with a sleeper and spiked him with a piledriver. Void wanted to stop the match. Joe and Amy would not allow it.
Joe blasted Ooten with the kill shot to the base of the brain. Ooten appeared to be out as referee Void made the 10 count. Amy handed the title to Joe and he raised his hands. Ooten started to stir. Black pounded Ooten's head with more elbows until Void called for the bell.
Hell of a match. Tremendous effort. The shit talking added another element. The finish was gut wrenching. The ambience kind of sucked. When they fought in the crowd, the ProSouth fans displayed all the excitment of the vegetables in the produce section at Kroger.
