At the close of last week's show, Amy Haven said she and the Process were going on a well-deserved vacation and there would be no show this week. In reality, the Havens were booked for AWE's Southern Fried Gaming Expo shows in Atlanta on Friday and Saturday night. Then this happened Friday night Ace Haven Injured.
This episode was taped "in secret" on Thursday night with Scott Adams in charge.
Justin McKenzie turned heel in his swan song at ProSouth. McKenzie put Oliver Green over in a 15 minute loser leaves town match on his way out. It was the longest singles match of Green's career. Along with McKenzie, Green holds single victories over Joe Black and Wiliam Huckaby in his rookie season.
McKenzie made his in-ring debut at the 2024 Young Lion's Cup after training at ProSouth. He's been a staple of the roster since day one and a babyface his entire run. McKenzie branched out this year with appearances for numerous promotions in Georgia, North Carolina and Alabama. Like DRP before him, McKenzie's star is on the rise. We shall see how long the stipulation holds up.
For great psychology and selling by two young wrestlers, a match worth going out of your way to watch is KJ Valentine vs. Julian Balderas. They stole the show.
Add in the wildness of the tornado tag main event, and you had yourself a good wrestling show.
Ironically, the select few at this secret show was louder than most of the regular ProSouth crowds.
Commentary was provided by the nearly award winning team of Wicked Nemesis and Mathias Darkthorne with Darkthorne doing his now customary double duty as ring announcer. Joseph Void was the ironman referee. He's been doing a lot of that of late.
Opening with Team Haven in the ring. Adams questioned Ace, Harley, Caeden Ooten, Justin McKenzie and Oliver Green to ferret out the mole in their midst. Ace dropped McKenzie with a superkick. Ooten confronted Ace. Meanwhile, McKenzie low-blowed Green and slid out. Adams made the main event match: McKenzie vs. a member of Team Haven -- loser leaves ProSouth.
Clues had been dropped about McKenzie being the mole -- i.e. his slack attitude video promo leading into Power To The People and his tardiness in the tag title match.
President Lose Brantley entered looking more like a secret service agent than a president, with Space Odyssey Fail as his music. Brantley said he still had to get the Lose monkey off his back. He had brought his own opponent who was in no way affiliated with him and introduced the masked Russian Dmitry. Same music.
(1) Dmitry defeated Lose Brantley via DQ in 1:26. Dmitry looked suspiciously like one of Brantley's stablemates in Th3 Draw. Brantley executed a snap mare, raised his hands in victory and covered Dmitry with one hand. The lights went out. True Grit (Christian Pierce & Julian Balderas) invaded the ring. Brantley shoved Void and got DQed.
Pierce said maybe the match was a draw and made Lose the butt of his jokes. Brantley had to be held back by Dmitry. Pierce said it looked like Brantley was ready for another match. Adams agreed.
(2) True Grit (Christian Pierce & Julian Balderas) defeated Brantley & Dmitry (cough) in 2:44. Dmitry and Brantley cheated. Pierce forced Brantley to DDT Dmitry and gave them the cannonball treatment. The bumbling heels collided and Pierce pinned Brantley with a pedigree.
Perverse wrestling entertainment at its best or worst depending on your view. Nothing in between. Brantley entertains me. He is stupidly over the top.
(3) KJ Valentine defeated Julian Balderas via DQ to retain the All-Out Championship in 13:18. Balderas had KT tape on his left shoulder. Valentine zeroed in on the injury straight away. Balderas leveled Valentine with a lariat for a one count only. KJ was like a dog with a bone on Julian's shoulder.. The action transitioned to ringside. Balderas tried to press Valentine but his shoulder gave out and Valentine sent that left shoulder into the post. Valentine thre Balderas out of the ring for a second time and connected with a penalty kick to the shoulder. Valentine played for a count out. It took all of the 20 count for Balderas to make it back into the ring. Valentine continued his attack on the arm. Balderas threw Valentine into the corner and took a page out of his partner's book with a cannonball followed by a T-Bone Tazzplex, a release german and falcon arrow. Balderas tried for the spear. Valentine caught Balderas coming in with a kick to the bad shoulder. Valentine applied a cross armbreaker. Balderas used up his ropes break. Valentine reapplied the cross armbreaker in the middle of the ring. Balderas used his good arm to powerbomb out of it. Valentine tried for a springboard cutter. Balderas countered with a rebound sitout powerbomb for a two count. Balderas speared Valentine who rolled out before Balderas could cover him. Balderas speared Valentine on the floor and rolled him back in the ring.
Balderas was coiling for a final spear when Garrett got in the ring with the title belt. He swung and missed Valentine with the belt and got speared by Balderas. Valentine tried to sneak in a belt shot but Balderas blocked it. They got in a tug of war for possession of the belt. Balderas accidentally hit Valentine with the belt and Void DQed him.
Balderas (age 20) and Valentine (age 22) displayed ring savvy beyond their years. They put on a credible, competitve and intense match that rendered the size difference a non-factor. Valentine never wavered in his assault on Julian's shoulder. Balderas sold the shoulder but was still able to do some power moves on a smaller opponent with one good shoulder. The finish was a way out. It would have served no useful purpose for Balderas to take a loss.
Postmatch, Garrett clocked Balderas with the belt from behind. Pierce made the save. Segue to...
(4) Christian Garrett defeated Christian Pierce in 6:37. Void got squashed in the corner. Garrett blocked Once Bitten and attempted to kick a field goal with Pierce's nether region. Pierce blocked that and set up for the Pedigree. Garrett slipped away and Balderas suddenly flew into view with a spear on Pierce, who was easy pickins for Garrett.
Balderas was apologetic after the match. Pierce did not appear to hold the mix up against his partner.
The match was a reviisting of the top drawer feud the Christians had earlier in the year. The announce team portrayed Julian's screw up as an honest mistake but the timing was suspect since Pierce was in control when it happened. Something to keep an eye on.
The camera cut from Darkthorne's intro to McKenzie talking on the phone near the back door. McKenzie was telling someone he left the door open. McKenzie immediately copped an attitude towards the crowd.
Cut to Team Haven in the interview area where Ace and Ooten were engaged in a heated discussion who would oppose McKenzie. Green took matters into his own hands and made his way to the ring.
(5) Loser Leaves ProSouth: Oliver Green defeated Justin McKenzie in 15:01. McKenzie made it clear it was all about him. Green went on the attack. McKenzie rolled out and begged off. Green wasn't having it. McKenzie poked Green in the eyes and hurled him into the barricade. McKenzie beat Green's ass outside and inside the ring. McKenzie pulled a Calozzi and grabbed one of the headsets at commentary to plead his case. He was being called a mole for putting his name on the map. He was just that damn good. McKenzie used a Trent Baretta Dudebuster. Green fought up from underneath. McKenzie cut Green off with a superplex into a falcon arrow. He looked shocked when Green kicked out. Green's handspring back elbow sent McKenzie to the floor. Green did a trio of tope suicidas. Back inside, McKenzie countered Green's springboard with Styles Clash, then a swanton bomb, ushigiroshi and a superkick. Green kicked out of all of them. McKenzie was beside himself. Green got near falls with an inside cradle and backslide. Green's shotgun dropkick drove McKenzie into corner. Green hit three consecutive Helluva Kicks. McKenzie collapsed and Green pinned him clean.
This McKenzie was a different animal -- expressions, an egotistical, fiendish asshole with the swagger an exaggerated facial expressions of a heel. The size difference favored him for a change. McKenzie was in the rare position of being the one to bully his opponent. Green displayed great fire and the Haven big cockroach energy. He was not to be denied.
The Process (ProSouth Champion Joe Black, Amy Haven, TragiCK and Joe Wood) had shown up after all. Wood and TragiCK destroyed Green. Ace and Ooten hit the ring to battle the Process.
Amy said Adams wanted a Process free show. Adams was not only a snake, this made him a liar. Amy ordered a tornado tag match.
(6) Tornado Tag: The Process (TragiCK & Joe Wood with Amy Haven & Joe Black) defeated Ace Haven & Caeden Ooten with Scott Adams) by referee stoppage in 4:16. Wood tossed Ace over the top ropes with the Woodchipper /Ooten was fighting the Wood and TragiCK one against two when Ace came off the top of the entrance structure with a rolling senton on the Process. Back inside, Ace had Wood locked in the Calf Crusher with nowhere to go. TragiCK put Ace in the bulldog choke. Ace's arm went limp and Void called for the bell.
The Process ruled the roost as the livestream came to close.
Furious action. Chalk another one up for the Process. Tragick's new collar is keeping him in line. I liked Joe's hat. He and Amy made a wickedly cute couple.
