This past Saturday night, TWE Chattanooga presented its annual big show 4 Years Strong. The crowd was 180 sold out. They were red hot all night.
1. Mike Williams beat “The First Sword” Cody Steele
This match was the perfect opener. Steele is a great big man heel and Williams is as over as any baby face can be with this crowd. They were into this very physical match and went ballistic when Williams hit the pop up power bomb for the win. This match did everything it was supposed to do as an opener, and got the crowd pumped for the rest of the show.
2. Alan Angels beat Trevor Aeon
I cannot say enough about either of these men. Angels has a great gimmick and can really go in the ring. Aeon is a member of the 13th floor and has incredible talent one of the most underrated workers I have ever met, combined with the ability to get heat anytime he is in the ring. This match was everything you could ask for; it had the super indie style, yet told a story of good versus evil and the crowd ate it up.
A quick Voice from Ringside with Steve Dave and special guest TWE Commissioner Roger Cantrell set up the Pure Division Championship match, where if Jayke Murphy lost he would be fired from TWE.
3. A.C. Mack beat Jayke Murphy to become the new Pure Division Champion
Mack is one of the best heels I have ever seen and is incredible in ring and on the microphone. This was an athletic contest by both competitors and the crowd was with them every step of the way. After the match, Cantrell fired Murphy, which then led to a heartfelt goodbye from the fans with a "thank you Jayke" chant.
4. Th13teenth Floor (Ike Cross & Chris Bullett) beat S4 (Chris Crunkk & Jaden Newman) to retain the TWE Tag Team Championship
This match was one the fans were looking forward to very much. It was a great match between two very athletic teams and are comprised of four of the best athletes in the area today. 13th beat S4 after Joey Gambino made an appearance prompting Crunkk to super kick Newman and walk away rejoining his former associate from anonymous. After the match Bullet thanks the crowd for everything and they will be fighting champions and make the TWE fans proud, which prompted Ike Cross to attack him and state he is tired of carrying Bullet’s weight and vacating the TWE Tag Team Championship.
5. Adrian Akyel beat King Bailey Blake (with Roger Cantrell) to become the TWE Champion
This match was absolutely everything it was hyped to be between two incredibly gifted young athletes. Blake is an incredible heel who has the world at his feet, and can do anything he puts his mind to. The same can be said about Adrian Akyel who is the most over baby face in TWE at the moment. They had the entire crowd start to finish and when Akyel won with the small package, 180 people sounded like 2000 people. The crowd was absolutely insane and could not have been happier to see the villain they hated so much fall to their hero.
All in all, it was an incredible show start to finish and some fans even said it was the best show they had ever seen at TWE. Every member of the roster should be proud of what was accomplished Saturday night. The future of wrestling in Chattanooga is very bright all because of TWE. Next show is September 9th.
