Welcome to the fallout from Valentine's Day Massacre edition of ProSouth, This was largely a feel good show. Ticket prices were cut in half in conjunction with the celebration of Amy Haven's reclamation of her company.
Good things are happening under the hood.
-- Julius Pryor defeated Brandon Whatley for the All-Out Championship, taking home his first singles gold at ProSouth and cementing his babyface turn.-- The Chosen Ones are the new tag team champions. The Commission's Scott Adams spent the duration locked in a shark cage and had his contract terminated as a result of the tag title loss.
-- We got three good wrestling matches with clean finishes. The in-ring competition at Prosouth has acclerated. The roster depth is helping. Ayden Andrews vs. Donnie Primetime may have stolen the show.
-- Amy Haven was prominently featured in multiple segments.
-- Upgrades to the set are in process. The new entranceway is a huge improvement.
Wicked Nemesis and Mathias Darkthorne handled the commentary. Adam Hunter and Jeremy Blackstone reffed. Cory Shattles was the ring announcer. Katie Lindsey was on the rover camera.
Team Amy (Amy Haven, Ace Haven, Cameron Keast, Donnie Primetime and Joe Wood) opened the show. Amy said she could not have done it alone. Wood said when Amy asked him to join her team they decided he would be a fail-safe. He did things he wasn't proud of but they won and he literally had a hand in it as promised by making the three count. Keast said he appreciated what Wood had done for their team but did he have to watch him blood for 20+ minutes. Ace intervened and said everyone in the cage last week paid a price. Amy left Scott Adams a bloody mess and every ounce of blood Keast spilled they took off that bald-headed piece of trash.
Adams came to ringside. Amy said Adams technically was still under contract and she had a special place for him (pointing to the shark cage at ringside). Adams balked. Amy told him to get his bald ass in there. Keast sneaked up behind Adams and blinded him with the green mist. and into the cage Adams went.
A nice piece of business. They circled back to Woods' fulfillment of his babyface promise and his overzealous handling of his "fail-safe" role. What was that fleeting glimpse of Keast standing in front of draped figure in the opening credits?
(1) The Chosen One (Ace Haven & Cameron Keast with Amy Haven) defeated ProSouth Tag Team Champions Douglas Sanders & Tsunami via DQ in 42 seconds. Ace wrestled in his robe and street shoes. Sanders kicked Ace in the groin right in front off the ref for the DQ.
How flippant of Ace to wrestle wearing his robe.
Amy stripped the title off Sanders and Tsunami and ordered a tag title rematch for the main event.
(2) Caeden Ooten (with Harley Haven) defeated Cody Windham in 7:48. Ooten capitalized on Harley's diversion of Windham's attention and interference. On the comeback, Windham hit a swinging beckbreaker for a two count. Harley grabbed Windham's leg. Ooten clocked Windham with a right hand and pinned him with Loaded Gun Complex.
A perfectly decent match with yet another Ooten win on the back of Harley's interference. Ooten was coasting. I'm curious what's next for him.
(3) Ayden Andrews defeated Donnie Primetime in 11:19. Donnie with a burst of offense out of the gate. Andrews to the floor to regroup. Donnie pursued Andrews with a tope. Andrews turned the ringside area into his personal playground. Andrews worked over the rib injury Donnie suffered two weeks ago. Donnie rose from the dead to beat a count out by a nanosecond. A see saw battle segued to a sequence of counter moves. Primetime kicked out of a pedigree. Andrews tried for his pet Ushigiroshi but Donnie caught him with a cutter on the way down. Andrews kicked out of a Shining Wizard at 2.9 and hit Nail in the Coffin but Primetime rolled to the apron. Primetime nailed a frog splash and sold it RVD style due to the rib injury. Andrews then hit a brainbuster for the three count.
Loved it. Great layout. Best match Primetime has had at ProSouth since I don't know when - offense and defense. Andrews is the number one contender for the ProSouth Championship based on in-ring performance. Adding a devastating new finisher to his arsenal is icing on the cake.
Pryor's Graduation from Serpent Ninja Academy. Whatley's speech that was a lost cause due to the echo in the audio. The crowd was anti-Whatley and pro-Pryor. As Whatley was about to present Pryor with his graduation headband, out came Amy. She gave Pryor his pick: he could accept the graduation gift or call in that favor and kick Whatley's ass for the All-Out Championship. Whatley was furious. He didn't wait for an answer. He attacked Pryor and called for a referee.
(4) Julius Pryor defeated Brandon Whatley to win the All-Out Championship in 8:06. Referee Hunter gave Pryor a bit of time to clear his head but the challenger was fighting from underneath from the get go. Pryor's twisting tornillo crossbody off the ropes was picture perfect. Pryor was using his speed and agility but the brute power of Whatley's strikes was holding sway. Darkthorne said from personal experience it was hard to put two thoughts together when being assaulted by Whatley. Pryor slowed Whatley's attack with a series of martial arts strike. Whatley tried to keep Pryor grounded. Pryor bombarded Whatley - Capoeira kick, a springboard kick, an old style flying headscissors, an ax kick, finishing with a tornado kick to the head. Pryor went up top for the Shaolin fists. Whatley shook the ropes and brought Pryor off his perch with a rude toss body slam. Whatley took Pryor's head off with a shining wizard. Pryor rolled a shoulder just before the three count. Pryor evaded Whatley's scissors kick, dropped him with a spin kick and won the title with the Shaolin Fists.
Crowd was hot for a Pryor win and got what they wanted. Pryor is an amazing athlete. With his small stature and determination, Pryor is also tailor made for the role of the underdog babyface. Whatley's snug offense looked murderous the way Pryor was selling for him.
Chris Crunk video promo Audio was piss poor. He was talking about beating "The Gatekeeper" Ayden Andrews at Valentine's Day Massacre.
Collum did solid work in his last run. He's a good addition so long as he can keep his head on straight.
Keast grappled with Sanders. Cam punished Sanders with a body scissors and tried to choke the life out of Sanders for slapping him. Chosen Ones handed Sanders his ass until Sanders catapulted Keast face first into the turnbuckle. Tsunami and Sanders targeted Keast's arm. Tsunami got a near fall with an Alabama Slam. Keyblade by Keast and he rolled out. Ace cleaned up on Sanders. Shining Wizard and a fast two count by Wood. Tsunami in with a stellar jumping neckbreaker for Ace. Keast snapped Tsunami's fingers. Ace gave Tsunami a cutter and Keast pinned her with a frog splash.
The deck was stacked. The match was a pleasant surprise. Everyone looked motivated. The Commission leveled up. Where has this version of Tsunami been hiding out? She was much better in the ring and Keast was great working with her.
New ProSouth Champion Christian Pierce made his first title defense in a ProSouth plus match vs. Justin McKenzie.
