NCW Heavyweight Champion AC Mack and O’Shay Edwards vs. Ike Cross & a mystery partner was a gem –a heated main event that delivered a compelling story and great action. 

The show closed with a pivotal figure from Cross’s past arriving to derail his quest for the title. 

The main event was the show’s saving grace, as it was one of NCW’s weaker outings overall. The talent pool was shallower than the norm. 

In other news, Former NCW Heavyweight Champion Andrew Duckworth returned with an air about him and a new name -- “The Palehorse” Josie Quinn. Johnny Nixx had a good match with the returning Tommy Maserati.

(1) Cody McCulley defeated Ryan Staples in 6:20. Both guys displayed more presence and in-ring skills than they had heretofore. McCulley won some nifty combination offense – german suplex followed by a superkick and spike DDT.

(2) Hoax (with Mr. Skinz) pinned The Nail Biter with the Death Party in 5:28. Nail Biter was under a mask. Match was laid out similarly to Hoax’s match two week earlier. He did the Frankenstein leg drop again, a unique move if nothing else. 

(3) Johnny Nixx defeated Tommy Maserati in 8:10. Maserati’s first appearance since the demise of the Misfits consisting of Maserati and Alan Angels. Pretty good chemistry here. They worked a fast-paced back and forth match that had a nice build of intensity down the stretch. Nixx hit an Olympic slam and used a variation of the powerbomb for the pin after his Yoshi Tonic messed up. 

(4) Andrew Duckworth aka “The Palehorse” Josie Quinn pinnned Bobby Flaco with a reverse DDT in 4:45. Duckworth was leaner and meaner than ever Flaco fell for a lefty handshake. Duckworth headbutted the dummy and gave him a vicious beating.

David Garrison collected Flaco after the match (as he had done the prior show with Kurt Kyle).

Duckworth said he was the longest reigning NCW Heavyweight Champion in a former life. Behold the Palehorse Quinn and whoever held the Landmark Heritage title should bring it to him. Quinn vs. Heritage Champion Billy Buck headlined the next show. 

(5) “The Psycho Punk” Michael Manson (with Mr. Skinz & Hoax) defeated James Bandy in 2:20. I was surprised to see Manson beat Bandy with such ease. Manson’s finisher, a cutthroat Gori drop, looked amazingly solid, unlike the abomination at the last show. 

Cross came out solo against Mack & Edwards. Mack said it looked like Cross was unable to find a partner. Cue up Angels’ music. 

(6) Ike Cross & Alan Angels defeated NCW Heavyweight Champion AC Mack & O’Shay Edwards when Cross pinned Mack at 15:04. Angels (sporting a shaved to head like Cross) got some believable offense on O’Shay before the heels did a number on Angels’ knee. NCW owner Steve Martin came out to help Angels to the back. Cross had to go it alone until Bolo. Mack and O’Shay strutting around as they beat his ass. Cross shocked the heels with his resiliency by kicking out of Mack’s superkick to the face. Bolo, off all people, showed up in Ike’s corner. Cross couldn’t believe what he was seeing but made the tag. Bolo ran wild. He had Mack pinned with a jackhammer but Edwards made the save. Cross made a blind tag and had Mack in his sights for the spear. Mack leapfrogged and tried for the Mack 10. Cross powered out and speared the hell out of the champion for the pin.

Bolo and Cross made peace after the match. I wouldn’t call it an alliance. The lights went out. A mysterious woman appeared on the ramp. Under cover of darkness, somebody attacked Cross from behind. The lights came to reveal the attacker as Cross’ former partner, the artist formerly known as Chris Bullett. 

Bullett and the woman struck a pose with Cross laid out at their feet. “Conscious” King Heru and his queen have arrived in NCW.
