From Rob Brodhecker:
This is my first trip back to Pro South since the 2 night Trinity Tournament back in April. They are advertising 6 matches for tonight, the ones that are of interest to me are Charles Zanders vs. O'Hagan and the rookie Ben Buchanan vs. Dom Black. Other matches are Dameon Ceretone vs. Too Fly Ty, Tyler Rivera vs. Daniel Perez, #Millennials vs. Robi Vio and Caeden Ooten, and The Left-Hand Path vs. Cameron Action and Shean Christopher. This is the second show since Amy Haven took complete control of ProSouth Wrestling when her team was victorious over her husband Ace's team at Caged Warfare. Faith Dorn and Coda Bilbo on video commentary. There are about 50 people at the ProSouth Arena tonight and they were on the dead side for most of the night.
All Out Qualifying match: Dameon Ceretone (representing the Chosen Ones) vs. Too Fly Ty
I usually dislike to make comparisons to other wrestlers, but Ty could be related to Nigel Sherrod in his looks and body style. In this match, he has a couple of inches in height on Ceretone. This has been a very ground based match so far for both men. With the name of Too Fly, I was expecting a faster pace match. Ceretone pins Ty at 12:08 with what looks like a package brainbuster. A technically sound match but the crowd wasn't engaged much, B-.
Bucky the ref promo. He says that Ace is still recovering from Caged Warfare two weeks. He goes off on Alister Crowe for making him bleed on his own clothes. He then starts in on "The Mongrel" Britt Jackson, listing that Jackson beat Michael Elgin and then retiring Brad Cash. Jackson enters the ring while Bucky is playing up to the mobile camera and when Bucky turns around, Britt spears him and then gives Bucky two chokeslam head butts. 3 referees have to carry Bucky to the back. It's always good to see Bucky get knocked out.
Dom Black vs. Ben Buchanan
Black is working a male stripper gimmick complete with a bow tie. At least he has the body for it. Black is from Great Britton and will be at New South on Saturday. Ben has got almost 6 inches in height and about 30 pounds on Black. Ben has a wicked snap suplex. Black is going up top, but Ben moves out of the way. A near fall on Black after Ben drives both knees into Black's chest. A nice t-bone suplex by Black. Spinning powerbomb followed by a diving headbutt almost gives Ben the win, but Black gets a foot on the rope. Ben goes for the powerbomb, but Black rakes the eyes and then flips Ben onto his head and scores the pin at 10:25. Black is dancing and gyrating afterward and then wants to shake Ben's had. Black goes for a cheap kick, but Ben catches his leg and then locks in a leg lock for a moment while Black is screaming in agony and tapping the mat. C+.
Franks and Drake were "enhancement talent" from New South before breaking away. James Hardy makes his way to the ring after #Millenials enter the ring, asking them if they want him as a manager. They repeatedly tell him no. Vio and Ooten make their entrance. Hardy is prowling around ringside, still pleading his case to the #millenials. The #millennials are playing up being jerks to the crowd. Hardy is yelling advice, but it causes a distraction instead to give some life to Ooten. Hardy is trying to give his cane to Tyler, but Tyler tells him to stuff it. Ooten makes the tag to Robi. Robi locks both of the Millenials in a submission hold, but Hardy gets up on the apron, and Robi breaks the hold to pop Hardy. Ooten tags back in but the millennials kick his head off and then go for the pin but Hardy attacks Robi which causes the DQ at 10:15. The #millennials are furious. Amy comes out and says that it looks like the #millennials now have a third member which now makes them a Trio. She makes a match for the #millennials with Hardy against Robi and Ooten and their third member, Amy Haven. C-, if this were real life, Ooten's brains would have leaked out with all the kicks to the head he took, and I'm not sure of the reasoning of Amy inserting herself into a Trios match. Update: at the last show, Hardy almost hit Amy.
Tyler Rivera vs. Daniel Perez (c) for the ProSouth All Out Championship
They shake hands to start off the match. As much as the first match was a ground-based match, this match is much more up-tempo. Tyler lands a frog splash, but Perez gets his shoulder up right before the ref's hand hits the canvas. Perez locks in the Walls of Jericho and makes Tyler tap at 7:08. I give it a B-.
For whatever reason, the crowd here hardly has any energy. The temperature in the building is pretty decent, and the group will ooh and ahh but nothing sustained throughout any of the matches thus far.
Intermission
All Out qualifier: Charles Zanders vs. Joshua O'Hagan
Zanders is being the bad guy here and bails out of the ring right on the bell. When O'Hagan is the good guy, he really relishes it. O'Hagan has such elasticity in his movements and expressions. I'm liking Zanders vocalizations with the ref and the crowd. O'Hagan wins with a roll-up off of a knee to Zander's nogging at 7:30. A solid B, but I have to admit that I am biased towards both men.
The Left Hand Path (Erick Silva and Alister Black with Mathias Darkthorne) vs."Lights" Cameron Action and "The Savage Youth" Shean Christopher (c) for the ProSouth Tag Team Titles
The Chosen Ones (Ace Haven, Big Tomb, and Dameon Ceretone) make their way to the ring after the other team's entrances. Ace rails against Amy's decision not to book the Chosen Ones for the tag titles. He wants the Path and the champs to agree to add the Chosen Ones to the match. Despite the crowd telling Shean not to, he agrees and then slugs Ace. Tomb attacks Shean and the Path attack Action. The ref finally restores some order, and the match officially starts. Action and Christopher are the good guys, The Chosen Ones are the bad guys, and the Path are out for themselves. Tomb accidentally splashes Ace. Darkthorne gets pushed into Silva. Heat on Silva and the crowd finally rouses itself and gets a Silva chant going. Silva finally tags out, and that starts another free for all with guys tagging in and out all over the place. Britt Jackson runs into the ringside area and starts attacking Big Tomb. Ace tries to steal a pinfall, but Shean breaks it up and almost pins Ace. Ace goes for a pedigree, and then some music plays, and that distracts Ace and Shean plants him with a DDT for the win at 12:39. Ceretone hits the ring and attacks Shean. Ceretone and Silva face off, and trade blows. Action and Shean clear out Silva and Ace to stand tall but then Action decks Shean, and they start to fight. Shean plants Action and then asks for the mic. He wants a one on one with Action for the tag titles on June 28th. This match was all over the place and not necessarily in a good way: C.
Too many things happening here spoiled this for me. The storylines coming from this are like a plate of noodles. They teased a triple threat between Ace, Shean, and Silva, but then had Action turn on Shean to start something else. The Path looks to be on the back burner, which IMO, not the best thing.
