From Scott Hensley:
TWE celebrated 7 years with what many consider to be the best event in the history of their company.
1) Rob Killjoy defeated Graham Bell by pinfall
Bell previously beat Killjoy with assistance of his bazooka (he hit him with it...not shot him...) so this was Killjoy getting some retribution. They beat the snot out of each other and as far as in ring action goes, I'm not sure anything beat this on an absolutely stacked card full of great matches that the crowd cared about. They traded brutal strikes and a dozen or more pin attempts before Killjoy scored the pin...with some usage of the ropes.
2) Coach Kody Manhorn defeated Patrick Heeter and Keith Thorn and Rodney Rockchild and Brandon Williams and Tyler Franks in the annual Anniversary Scramble
This was an exciting scramble with action galore and too many highlights to hit. Heeter has become a fan favorite at TWE as a big, athletic brawler. Thorn is the son of longtime wrestler/gearmaker Chris Thorn, who is starting to travel and carve out his own niche. Williams is the New South promoter turned serious mat grappler, Rockchild is a disturbingly creepy heavyweight who regularly appears for New South. Franks is 1/2 of the Talladega Knights with Hunter Drake and a recent Jacobs Prichard Wrestling Academy graduate. Each guy got the opportunity to showcase some offense before falling prey to someone else's offense until Manhorn picked up the pin!
A vignette aired for a lumberjack looking guy who split wood and then revealed a dress shirt underneath and made himself a drink. He said he was a jack of all trades who could do a lot of things but still had a lot of things he wanted to do. The video revealed his name is Pete Youngblood and he's coming soon to TWE.
3) Erron Wade (with Matt Griffin) defeated Adam Priest by pinfall after a 450 splash
This was a really competitive match between two guys who have become rivals at TWE. The match saw Griffin point out several attempts by Priest to cheat and finally Wade nailed a huge spin kick to the head of Priest and ascended the top rope to put him away with a perfect 450 splash.
After the match the Scenic City Invitational booking team of Scott Hensley, Matt Griffin, and Wade's trainer, Jaden Newman presented Wade with his Action Futures Showcase Tournament poster and invited him to be in the tournament. It was a complete surprise to him and a very emotional moment as he becomes the 9th and final entrant into the tournament that will happen at the TWE Arena on 10/3 at 2pm as part of a double-header with TWE. Tickets are just $10 and will be available at TWE on 9/26 or anytime at SCIWrestling.com
4) Jaden Newman defeated Trever Aeon (with "The Prophet" Sean Thompson by DQ .when Aeon Gothplexed him through a door
Newman was still visibly feeling the effects in his neck of Aeon putting him through a table at the last TWE event. These guys went back and forth and Newman would not quit or allow himself to be pinned. Thompson eventually instructed his client to end Newman. Aeon went to the back and came out with a red door that he sat up in the corner and viciously put Newman through, costing him the match but costing Newman even more damage to his neck. Aeon continued the beatdown with the door as Thompson cheered him on. Fans were livid and security along with Dylan Hales came out to plead with Aeon & Thompson and to assist Newman to the back.
5) "No Crowns Needed" Bailey Blake & newcomer Carson Dilbeck defeated Lutha X & Jayke Murphy (with "King Handsome" Roger Cantrell) to win the TWE Tag Team Championship in a career (Blake) vs titles match
Bailey put his career on the line to get a piece of his former manager's new clients and their titles - and it paid off big time here. This match was rocking and rolling from beginning to end with the heavy stakes at play. Cantrell taunted Bailey throughout the match and even grabbed his leg in the ring. Bailey rolled out and punched out Cantrell(finally!) to the crowd's delight. Dilbeck was knocked out on top of Murphy where he somehow got the pin with Bailey taking out Lutha. The crowd celebrated huge for this. Blake has looked more confident and better than he's ever looked lately and this was a giant start to young Carson Dilbeck's career.
6) Brett Ison defeated Derek Neal by submission to retain the TWE Championship
This was a brutal battle between two accomplished and tough as nails guys. They slugged it out and Ison accidentally took out referee Robert Brinkley. The petite TWE official Kimberly Skiles ran out to keep the match alive. Neal took his liberties with Ison and was reprimanded by Skiles who Neal punched right in the face, taking her down and out in one of the lowest things I've ever seen a wrestler do. The crowd was rightfully stunned. Ison locked on an arm bar across Neal's back and he tapped... but there was no referee! In a stunning return, TWE referee Aaron Noyes (who some say looks an awful lot like Kody Manhorn) returned but Neal battled back due to the lapse in time. Ison locked the arm bar on again and this time Noyes aka "Shiny Shoes" was there to make it official.
Ison celebrated after the match and AC Mack appeared out of nowhere and attacked Ison from behind with a belt shot to the head. Mack said he enjoyed taking titles and keeping titles from Ison and said soon the TWE Championship would be his. He draped Ison over the TWE, Action, and SUP Bonestorm Championship championship and raised a steel chair to hit him when Blake made the save.
Griffin said Mack needed an opponent on 10/3 for the Action Futures Showcase Tournament and he felt like Blake would be a perfect fit. The crowd agreed.
