From Alfred Feliciano:
This special edition is dedicated to the memories of Boricua indy wrestling star Boster Lopez, who throughout this week was in the Auxilio Mutuo Hospital in San Juan due to prolonged problem with his lungs and kidneys that led to a cardiac arrest Sadly, Lopez passed away. Lopez whose real name is John Michael Caraballo had been well known in the Island's independent wrestling circuit for years, especially with Charity Wrestling Organization.
And to Boricua West Coast indy wrestling legend Raul Sanchez, a native of Isabela (town of the Aguadilla region). Sanchez had had been in the sport for over thirty years and wrestled against the Island's indy wrestlers as well as having fought big names from both Puerto Rico and all over the United States and Mexico. Sanchez also founded Iman Latin Wrestling, located at Barrio Arenales in Isabela in the promotion's 30 plus year history the well known names have left their mark: Chicky Starr, the late Victor The Bodyguard, "El Boricua Mayor" Savio Vega, "La Chica de la Actitud" Roxxy, Real OB,"The Precious One" Gilbert, El Diabolico, Thunder and Lightning among many others. ILW had events throughout Isabela, Aguadilla, Aguada all the way up to Quebradillas and Mayaguez a few times with Lajas' John Wrestling Promotion and the now defunct New Revolution Wrestling promotion from Barrio Mani area. On behalf of everyone here at GWH News and Notes, I send our deepest condolences and prayers respectively to the families of both wrestlers in their trying time.Allied Independent Wrestling Federation (AIWF) will celebrate their 30th Anniversary with their two night event from the Veterans Memorial Park, 691 West Lebanon Street, Mount Airy, North Carolina. World Wrestling League which started in Puerto Rico in 2013, had some great successes such as taking half of WWC talent to their roster and securing a spot on FITE TV. WWL also had it's share of controversies and hardships as well: talent losses, monetary losses, lack of storylines as well as fans questioning the direction of where the promotion was going. The final nail in WWL's coffin was the postponement of Black Christmas, their major holiday event in 2019. After meetings with talent and staff, WWL ran one final event on February 9, 2020 called "El Fin" ("The End") which marked a change in the promotion's name from WWL to Liga Wrestling with their first event being "El Inicio" ("The Beginning") from the old Liga Wrestling Arena located on Carlos Chardon Street in San Juan. With the COVID now dragging on for two years on the Island, many of the promotion's wrestlers moved on to other promotions. Liga Wrestling, like it's predecessor WWL went belly up.
Below are some of the new episodes from WWC, IWA Puerto Rico, Spartan Pro Wrestling, CWA, FSPW's Star Power and Fire Star Global brands, LAWE, CWF Mexico, NAWA. MLW Azteca, Professors of Wrestling, AIWF member Ring Wars Carolina, Coastal Championship Wrestling, plus two matches from both the now late Boster Lopez and the late Raul Snachez from Isabela's Iman Latin Wrestling episode ten years ago, an AIWF 26th Anniversary Battle Royal match, and WWL el Fin meeting with parts one and two of El Fin with Liga Wrestling's EL Inico two parter.
