With their next major show, Redemption four weeks away, ProSouth took things in some strange new directions.
Out of nowhere, Roma Miller was granted a ProSouth title match and got a visual near fall on ProSouth champion Cameron Keast. The team that appeared to be in line for tag team title shot (Tony Midas & Brother Azriel) lost to a team that was cannon fodder in their previous ProSouth appearances. As seen in the photo above, Super Chicken ate chicken feed off the mat.
Dameon Ceretone's emotional closing promo was the highlight of the show. Ceretone announced that he would be Rhino's opponent at Redemption on March 25.
Marcus Eriks and JACS had the best match.
Dorian's change of heart is complete. The former Deadcrowe wrestled in the main event as a full-fledged babyface.
Noah Howell and Shane Noles on commentary. The camera shot of the announcer's booth makes them look like astronauts in a space capsule. Our dauntless referees for the evening: Justin Patterson and "Slim" Dave Thomas.
Roma Miller goaded ProSouth Champion Cameron Keast into granting him a title match. Keast is a strong promo and Roma could not be more over in Piedmont.
(1) Cameron Keast (with Harley Haven) defeated Roma Miller to retain the ProSouth Championship in 7:52. Miller hit Child Support. Harley up on the apron to distract as Miller scored a visual fall behind the ref's back. Roma got in Harley's face. Keast came from behind and inadvertently knocked Harley off the apron. Roma superkicked Keast and covered. Harley pulled referee Patterson out at the count of one. Miller threatened to slug Harley but decided to leave it at shoving her down because he was a better man. Keast delivered a shot up the ying yang and pinned Miller with a flying knee.
We're left believe Roma Miller would be the new ProSouth Champion if not for Harley's interference. Harley was called upon to do more in the match than she ever has before and did pretty well. The ref pullout spot looked great.
(2) Nawfside Heroes (Jose Manuel & Shoota Gabe) upset The Primacy (Tony Midas & Brother Azriel) in 8:16. Midas faked making nice with Manuel because they were both WWA4 guys. Manuel came off the top with a double stomp to break up Azriel's pin on Gabe. Midas smoked Manuel with a discuss forearm. Manuel rolled out so Gabe was legal. Midas tried a discus forearm on Gabe who caught him with a drop toehold and shot the half and scissored the legs.
They made a deal out of Azriel having singles wins over both of the tag team champions and then Primacy loses to these guy so it looks like they are in with a push, Heroe's forearms and punched were terrible.
(3) Tyler Sutton defeated Super Chicken to retain the All-Out Championship in 8:47. Perverse entertainment taken to a new low in this match. Sutton sprinkled chicken feed. Super Chicken bowled Sutton over to peck those delictable morsel off the mat. Sutton caught the chicken with a short DDT and pinned him with the a sick kick.
Perverse entertainment taken to a new low. The announcers act like their oblivious to the obvious -- that Super Chicken in James Hardy. The character of the Youtube Championship and the All Out Championship have been completely reversed.
A winded James Hardy showed up to take over the ring announcing duties from Noah Howell.
(4) Marcus Eriks defeated JACS in 7:39. Eriks tried to intimidate JACS. He wasn't having it and gave Eriks all he could handle As JACS ascended to the top rope, The Primacy came onto the ramp to divert his attention. Eriks shook the ropes to crotch JACS and scored the pinfall with a vertical suplex version of Falling in Reverse.
These two meshed surprisingly well in the ring. This version of Erik's finisher looked devastating and JACS was the perfect guy to take it.
The Primacy attacked JACS after the match. Azriel squashed him flat with that jumping splash.
Midas cut a promo that was a scathing indictment of the state of affairs at ProSouth -- a ProSouth Champion that's running his own faction into the ground, an All Out Champion that's choking the chicken every week and tag team champions that lose (JACS) and don't show up (Najasism).
Midas noticed JACS was moving and stopped to mess him up some more but Nawfside Heroes made the save and knocked Azriel off his feet with a double dropkick.
(5) Dorian defeated Brandon Whatley by DQ in 10:19. Dorian came to the ring slapping hands and had the crowd chanting for him during the match. Dorian took a beating but he got his share of offense as well. Whatley was talking trash as he beat Dorian up. Never seen him talk so much during a match. Whatley started administering those deadly Kawada kicks. Referee Patterson stepped in to admonish Whatley though he was doing nothing illegal. Dorian then speared Whatley. Keast attacked Dorian and tried to pound him into unconsciousness for the DQ. Miller pulled Keast off Dorian, The situation devolved into a four way brawl.
Whatley's strikes are wicked. It was an OK match but I wouldn't go so far as to say main event quality. The finish was what it was -- a trope to set up a tag match.
Commissioner Amy Haven announced Dorian & Roma vs. Whatley & Keast in a Member's Only exclusive to take place after the show went off the air.
Seems to me these four already had plenty of exposure during this episode. More didn't feel like a bonus.
Ceretone promo. Ceretone said he'd been having a rough time and thanked the fans
for their support. (Ceretone's grandmother, the woman who raised him, had passed away during the previous week). Ceretone said he wasn't supposed to be at ProSouth tonight but he wanted to be there. Ceretone said he wasn't close to many people in wrestling, and It turned out the people in wrestling he had supported in the past were not the same people that reached out to him in his time of need. Deep down inside, he knew that all his grandmother wanted for him was to be happy. Wrestling, not wrestlers is what made him happy, performing and experiencing the reactions of the fans. He had supported other wrestlers in pursuing their dreams. Why wasn't he pursuing his own opportunities? ProSouth asked him about an opportunity that he had to seize. Ceretone vowed that going forward, he was going to be the best damn wrestler he could be and on March 25th he was planning on being the best damn wrestler he had ever been. When Rhino stepped into the ring on March 25, he was going to step across from Dameon Ceretone.
It doesn't get more real in pro wrestling than Ceretone's promo.
