Deep South Wrestling Presents: Resurgence results. 185 people showed up to Mixdeity studios out of a 250 limit reservation only event. The building is an retired old church in the grant park neighborhood of Atlanta, parking was a little tight around the neighborhood but very safe as I forgot to lock my doors and came back to nothing missing!!! Referees we Mike Fulilove, Paul Santa and Vette Addams. The show opened with a video package tribute to the History of Deep South Wrestling and The Masked Assassin Jody Hamilton. At the end of the video a touching moment of Nick Patrick and his sons Nick and Tony standing outside the family house announces “hi we are the Hamilton’s and welcome to Deep South Wrestling. 

Match one: Najasism defeated Skrilla the Great in a fantastic match with both men showing off they great ability. The fans couldn’t believe the great action they were seeing from both men. After the match Skrill extended his hand to Najasism as a sign of respect but then left Najasism laying. 

Match two: Scotty Beach (With Dirty Deeds tag team member Eric Adamz) defeated Simon Sermon. Being a very LBGTQ friendly area they absolutely loved Simon. Before the match Eric and Scotty had a miscommunication while Eric tried to give Scotty an illegal object. Paul Santa caught them and kicked Eric Adamz out from ringside. After an entertaining encounter Scotty Beach Cheated to beat Simon Sermon to the dismay of all the fans. 

Match Three: Papa Marko (with Taliaferro) defeated Randy Reno. Marko came out with a manager that I didn’t catch the name of but cut a quick promo. Papa Marko had this interesting look of part zombie part Voodoo that the crowd seemed to get behind. Randy was very timid to wrestle Papa Marko but the had an entertaining match. 

Intermission thoughts: for the first time in a long time it was great to see early 20’s - 30’s men and women out to enjoy wrestling. The BYOB option brought a lot of the locals. A lot of people mingling as the male to female ratio was very close. 

After intermission Nick Patrick and Vette Addams came out to thank everyone for coming to the event. Vette Addams made a speech speaking about how thanks to Deep South Wrestling, Nick and Jody she felt she got her life back after being in a motorcycle wreck. She explained that she was a dead on arrival at the hospital and woke up two weeks later to find her leg missing. She spoke about how the new logo is a symbol and Recognition of former owner The Masked Assassin and thought not here physically always here in their hearts. Suddenly Rose Gold and Nathaniel Vanderbilt music played and they interrupted. Leading to 

Match Four: Andey Ripley and Zero defeated Rose Gold and Nathaniel Vanderbilt. This was the first of what as explained as DSW inter-gender tag team division (guess you can teach an old dog new tricks). The match had a great old school vibe with the crowd really into it. After a missed pin attempt Rose Gold pushed Vette Addams on the corner. Ripley went to throw Gold into the same corner where Addams got her prosthetic leg up knocking out Rose Gold and Ripley got the pin. Afterwards Gold and Vanderbilt jumped Zero and Ripley until an alarm sounded and the word Surprised flashed across the screen. Jimmy Yang and his Daughter Jazzy Yang came to ringside to help the fallen winners. Vanderbilt was then beat up by Jazzy Yang, Jimmy Yang, Zero and finally a big kick by Vette Addams. Yang Stated on Friday May 20th himself and his daughter will debut for the return to the building. 

Main event: Jacob Johnson defeated Eric Adamz. When I tell you this was a hard hitting heavy weight match I do not kid you. You could physically see the welts on Adamz and Johnson as they happen. Big suplexs, slams and from what we heard afterwards two of the ring boards were broken. After a slap in the face and getting spit on by Adams. Johnson fired off at least 10 big shots in the corner in the nastiest beat down I have seen in a while followed by a world’s strongest Slam for the win. Jacob Johnson was established in this match as the star of the company and Adamz established himself as one of the best heels/wrestlers in the Georgia. This match felt like it went quick but it was 20 plus minutes long with great story telling by both. 

The bring your own beer, the good looking people and the top quality wrestling made for an amazing night with a different feel than most shows. They announced they will be returning on May 20th to the same location so far announce Jimmy and Jazzy Yang.
