Number one contender Brother Azriel pinned All-Out Champion Ayden Andrews in a tag match. They will meet in a casket match at Uprising on August 30.
Brandon Whatley challenged "Manbearpig" Ryan Anselman of Redneck Brawl to meet him in a no ropes Kumite match at Uprising.
It was a rough night for injuries. Caeden Ooten suffered a hideous gash on his forehead during the main event that required five stitches to close. Saul Wright was knocked unconscious during his match.
The ProSouth crowd made their presence felt, which was encouraging change from recent weeks. The babyfaces were cheered. The heels were getting heat.
Commentator of the year also rans, Wicked Nemesis and Mathias Darkthorne were in the commentation station. Adam Hunter and Joe were the referees. The beleaguered Cory Shattles was the ring announcer.
Atonement (Dameon Ceretone, Ayden Andrews and Christian Pierce) opened the show with their hardware laid out in front of them - Andrews' unified All-Out belts, Ceretone and Pierce's unified tag team belts). Ceretone ordered Shattles to get out of the ring. Self-proclaimed ProSouth Champion Ceretone held Big Blue, the ProSouth title in his hand. He listed off the great ProSouth champions of the past, said they could all kiss his ass and threw down Big Blue. Ceretone said he was not a belt collector as (the legitimate ProSouth Champion) Aaron Dallas called himself, he was the champion of champions and deserved a championship of his own. Pierce unveiled a new title belt and handed it to Ceretone, who declared the dawning of a new era, The Age of Atonement.
Sacrilege I say! We're going to get Dallas vs. Ceretone for the title eventually, perhaps a three-way with Impala, question is when. Shattles has been getting his initiation.
(1) Dameon Ceretone (with Ayden Andrews & Christian Pierce) defeated Saul Wright via referee stoppage in 4:20. Ceretone kicked Wright in the back of the head and covered. Wright never moved a muscle. Wood halted his count at two. Time stood still as Ceretone stared at Wood. Wood looked at Wright and finally waved off the match.
Wright who was momentarily knocked out. Ceretone clearly pinned him but referee Wood didn't know what to do because it wasn't the planned finish.
Atonement attacked Wright after the match. Roma Miller tried to make the save but was overwhelmed by the numbers. Brother Azriel cleared Atonement out of the ring and challenged them to trios match later in the show. Little did Az know, Wright was in no condition for another match and had to be helped to the back.
Flashback Friday sponsored by the RobBrod Report - highlights of Redneck Brawl's "Manbearpig" Ryan Anselman outsmarting and defeating Whatley in a pro wrestling match last week.
(2) Roma Miller defeated Julius Pryor (with Brandon Whatley & Hakeem Young) in 5:40.
Not what you'd call smooth. Both did some good stuff. Both still separating wheat from the chaff on offense. Miller had the crowd. ended. I was lol when Miller couldn't find any babys in the crowd on his way to the ring so he picked a kid that was almost as he tall as he is. Would have been a really nice finishing sequence if only Roma could have pulled of the O'Connor roll.
Serpent Ninja Academy beat Miller up after the match. The lights went out. Douglas Sanders' music played. When the lights came on, Douglas had knocked Pryor out with his megaphone. Whatley distracted Douglas and Young blasted him from behind. Douglas went down and started clutching at his shoulder.
(3) "The Body Snatcha" Hakeem Young (with Brandon Whatley) defeated Douglas Sanders in 5:49. Douglas crashed and burned on an elbow drop off the top. While Whatley distracted referee Hunter, Young knocked Douglas out with the Young Lion's trophy.
I liked this. Young brutal and aggressive with a stunningly good enzuigiri. Douglas selling big and gamely fighting up from underneath.
(4) Brother Azriel & Jake Franklin defeated Atonement (Andrews & Pierclikede with Ceretone) when Azriel pinned Andrews at 9:50. Az dominated early. Franklin took a buckle bomb from Andews and a C4 from Ceretone then got into a chopfest with Atonement. Franklin bounced Andrews' head into the turnbuckle with a huracanrana and made the tag. Az cleaned house, withstood a Stamp of Atonement from Andrews and pinned the champion with the Wood Grain.
Az has a date with destiny on August 30. He kicked out of the champion's finisher and beat him clean with his own. The announce team conjectured as to what color Jake's chest would be after the match. He's feisty SOB though and inflicted some damage.
(5) House of Flies (Shean Christopher & Ravenna Vein & Caeden Ooten with Harley Haven & Trace Haven) defeated Chosen Ones (Ace Haven & Amy Haven & Cameron Keast) in the Family or Freedom match (19:42). Elimination rules. Dual stipulations: if House of Flies won, Keast had to rejoin the House of Harley, if Chosen Ones won, House of Harley had to disband. Amy did a double axe off the ropes and joined Ace and Cam in double team maneuvers. Trace picked up chair. Keast took the chair away from Trace, threatened to hit him with it then fired the chair at Ooten's head. Keast was DQed for using the chair. Ooten's face was completely covered with blood and Ace pinned him. Ooten immediately went to the back for medical attention. Christopher and Vein abused Amy something fierce. Amy rolled away from Christopher's top rope elbow drop and tagged Ace. Christopher and Vein soon isolated Ace as well. After a collision of clotheslines, both women were tagged in. Vein kicked out of an Endgame (pedigree) from Amy and pinned her with the Bloodshot.
Christopher was done after a Tower of London followed by a springboard cutter from Ace. Trace tried to give his dad a low blow from behind. Ace blocked it. Harley tried to spit the green mist at Ace and Trace got a face full by mistake. Ace went to superkick Harley. Keast had jumped in the ring to take care of Harley and caught Ace's superkick. Christopher knocked Ace into Keast and hit the Beelzebutt on Ace to win the match.
Keast was stunned to where he was literally shaking. Harley wanted to shake hands. Keast ignored her and hugged Ace goodbye. Harley made Cam give up his leather jacket and don his Kids of Keast robe and mask.
Cut to the ring with Christopher standing over Ace at his most distraught. "I have nothing because of you!"
I had grave doubts about this twisted family drama as it unfolded. In the end, the match itself told an epic story. Should have expected nothing less from Ace Haven and company. Amy looked heavenly and did great in the ring for a woman that does not wrestle. Vein has gotten so much better as a wrestler. Ace and Christopher hadn't been in the ring together since the Unsanctioned match five week ago. It was the pause that refreshes. The unintentional blood was shocking. Ooten bled like a stuck pig. Keast's performance in the aftermath was tremendous. Trace sold the mist like a veteran. Kudos to Katie Lindsey on her work with rover camera. She captured the emotions in full.
Primetime appeared. He and Shean locked eyes. Shean yielded the ring to his brother. Primetime was about to address the crowd as the screen dissolved to black.
Primetime's last appearance on ProSouth was that fateful night last September. His weight belt mysteriously appeared on the show earlier this year in the hands of Ace Haven. Everything about Donnie's mannerisms said he was coming in as a babyface.
