'Twas a very fun night at Terminal West. Everyone in the crowd of 175 was letting the good times roll. This crowd had great energy throughout the briskly paced two hour show.
Promoter/ring announcer Cole Taylor informed the crowd that CCW was planning to close out 2024 in October at the 40 Watt Club in Athens but they got the call from Terminal West so here we were.
The card was subjected to last-minute changes. Shocking, I know. Adam Priest was too ill to wrestle, hence the dream singles match between Priest and Sean Legacy went out the window. Dominic Stuckey was unable to get there due to transportation issues.
It felt like a spot show in comparison to CCW at the 40 Watt, perfectly fine for the time and place.Legacy and Alex Kane came across like major league stars.
Atlanta band Small opened to set the appropriately rowdy mood.
(1) Matt Sells defeated Cornelius Pepperbottom and Kasey Owens in 5:37. Boos rained down upon Owens and his perpetual glower. The people were kind of split on Pepps. They adored Sells, who executed a train rat trap. Owens went after Sells' shoulder and complained about being hit in the head too many times. They did an obscene three-way electric chair spot I shall leave to your imagination. Owens back elbowed Pepps out of the ring and Sells rolled Owens up. Fun way to kick things off.
Owens ravaged Sells' shoulder until CCW personnel stormed the ring. Sells had to be helped to the back and was applying a can of Miller Lite to soothe his shoulder.
(2) Duncan Mitchell Avecilla defeated Zach Mosley in 5:55. Mitchell jumped the bell. Crowd was chanting for Mosley who was clearly a heel when he last appeared for CCW in this venue. But it was an easy choice for the crowd to make because DMA is part of Stuckey's much-despised No Good Bastards faction. Mosley locked in a cross armbreaker but DMA made the ropes. My vision of what happened next was obstructed. DMA did some kind of subterfuge involving referee Paul Santa and caught Mosley with a flying knee for the three count. A solid action-packed six minutes.
(3) Kaitlyn Marie defeated Dev Lynn and Noah Veil in 8:25. Lynn flying Florida Gators colors was instant heat. Marie was one of the most impressive performers on the show. She's a thick scantily-clad woman and she can really move. "You know I'm gay, right?" Her high impact moves looked tremendous. Marie got sensual with Veil. Lynn and Veil teamed up against Marie for all of about a minute. Marie ran wild and finished Veil off with a hip attack to end all hip attacks and pinned him with a piledriver.
Sound guy Samuel Frye messed up Najasism's music. Naja dragged Frye into the ring and beat hell out of him. DJ Smoke appeared with scissors. They cut Frye's beard. Frye was squirming like crazy.
Naja stomped on Frye's nuts for good measure. Owen Knight and Spectre made the save. Naja bailed to chants of "You sick fuck" and "asshole". An effective angle that had the element of total surprise.
Dillon McQueen vs. Cody Fluffman was up next. McQueen blindsided Fluff. Jackie Thad joined McQueen to lay a two on one beatdown on Fluff. Sean Legacy hit the ring and called for a tag match. Crowd was down with that but McQueen said Legacy didn't have the authority. Cole Taylor made it official.
(4) Buff & Fluff Connection (Sean Legacy & Cody Fluffman) defeat Dillon McQueen & Jackie Thad in 11:58. McQueen's manic intensity was something to behold. He was content to let Thad take the punishment and do the grunt work. Buff & Fluff abused Thad with Fluff's ass. Fluff gave Thad the sitdown splash as the crowd called for Cody to "f him up". McQueen finally took a bump but that gave Thad an opening for a flying knee of Fluff. The heels isolated Fluff. McQueen threw Fluff in the direction of "the emo harlot" near the stage.
Legacy took the hot tag and dished out the corner-to-corner light-speed European uppercuts. Thad kicked out of Legacy's springboard cutter. McQueen begged off and threw Thad to the wolves. Fluff speared Thad and pinned him with a top rope splash.
(5) Alex Kane defeated Danny Orion in 9:15. Kane methodically dismantled Orion for the lion's share of the match with Orion doing a stellar job of selling for the former MLW World Champion. Kane was in cruise control as he took Orion to suplex island and talked trash. He did a 15 count stalling suplex. Orion finally connected with a springboard back elbow to spark an impressive aerial comeback. But Orion crashed and burned on a swanton and Kane put him away -- german suplex, powerbomb, brainbuster.
(6) Najasism & DJ Smoke defeated CCW Champion Owen Knight & Rico Gonzalez in an Atlanta Streetfight (14:08). A trash can was filled with an assortment of gift-wrapped plunder. The choice of weapons was standard stuff - a chair, baking pans, trash can lid, an aluminum roasting pan, nothing too abberant or dangerous. Gonzalez and Knight were super over. They were killing the ENT early on. ENT doubled up on Knight. Rico save him with a psychotic running moonsault off the stage. ENT soon had Rico two-on-one. Naja tried to smother Rico with plastic wrap. Rico rallied against the odds with the crowd chanting his name.
Knight put Smoke through a door bridged across the ropes in the corner. Nate Mansions ran in and took out referee Paul Santa. Knight superkicked Mansions. Anthony Rivera entered as the second ref. Mansions taped Knight to the ropes. Gonzalez obliterated Mansions with the Rico Charge (top rope double stomp onto the apron). But Rico was left fighting a one against three battle. Naja put Rico in the Sharpest Shooter and applied the torque. Smoke came off the top with frog splash and it was over for Rico.
The ENT got onstage. Naja was at his repulsive worst, delighting in how he just whupped Knight's ass and would be the next CCW Champion. "Stand up and clap for your Hoochie Daddy!"
