Led by ChaynMale, DWA has run a number of obscure venues along with the awesome Believe Music Hall. Bruised & Infused 3 aka Suplex de Mayo was DWA's third show at THChill Lounge on The Beltline.
THChill Lounge is a cool warehouse space. Can't hold a lot of people in there. The floor area could seat maybe 60. The wrestlers enter by descending a staircase from an elevated backstage area where the talent congregates to watch to action. A garage door on the other side of the ring opens onto Krog Street. The door was kept open for the pre-show to lure in passers by.
THChill Lounge is named for the Cannabinoid drinks the company markets and sells at the show along with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. An effort to ban THC-infused drinks was introduced during the 2025 Georgia legislative session. Not only did that bill fizzle out, a substitute bill that would increase the availability of THC-infused drinks in retail stores is being considered. But I digress...
Bruised and Infused 3 was a really good show. Sure, it had the usual excesses familiar to all of the WWA4-related projects. It also had a great spirit about -- the unbridled enthusiasm for the opportunity to hone their craft in front of a live audience, the unabashed support for each other as performers.
Make no mistake, DWA is telling stories and the upper half of card had some great wrestling.
Pre-show: Don Cameron & JDR & Ace Diamond defeated Pop Rock Connection (Donovan Thomas & Von LaFlare) & Vivian Cross when Cameron pinned Thomas at 9:05.
Kavron Kanyon defeated Nasty Leroy and King Cole and Chester Wild and Herculon Rage and Rodney Rocket to retain New Era All-American Championship in 7:32. Kanyon pinned Wild with a package GTS.
(1) Krule defeated Tyler Stevens and Dante Darko and Bobby Flaco and Jay Tyler and former champion Chayn Male in scramble match to retain the DWA Multiversal Championship in 9:50. An insanely fun match that I will not attempt to describe. Everyone had multiple chances to win. Krule and Stevens brawled out onto Krog Street around the building and reentered from The Beltline. Darko hit a spinal tap before Krule pinned him with Scorched Earth.
(2) Jazzy Yang defeated Alexandra Quinn via submission in 6:36. Deity made her way to the ring to occupy Quinns.' attention. Yang capitalized on the distraction by applying a rear naked choke and it was nap time for Quinn.
Afterward, Deity pounded on Quinn. Yang objected before getting a big smile on her face. Deity and Quinn were in cahoots all along.
(3) Takuri & Zabertooth defeated Blak Jak Mak & Keelin Cole in 12:39. They did a lucha style match in honor Cinco de Mayo. Takuri (rocking an LWO shirt) was only competitor in the match experienced in the style so this was no great shakes as lucha libre. In frustration, Cole wanted to give Takuri a conchairto. BJM vetoed it. Takuri and Zabertooth hit stereo superkicks and Takuri pinned BJM with a frog splash.
Postmatch, BJM and Cole were going to let bygones by bygones until Cole kicked BJM in the gonads. Cole gave BJM a chairshot to the head and left him laying with the Conchairto.
Fade Area Militia (Tag Team Champions DJ Bruner & Travis 3000, Jay Tyler and Eddie Hindrixx) came to the ring. Tyler introduced the faction members and said they ran DWA. Bruner said being the holder of the Cash In Contract made him the most dangerous man in DWA. Bruner said he was putting the Cash in Contract on the line in an open challenge.
Apex (DWA Champion Grayson Pierce, Chayn Male, CB4Three, Darko, Nawfside Heroes and Nikki Heat) appeared on the staircase. CB4Three accepted the open challenge as their proxy.
Before the bell, Hakeem Young interjected himself into the proceedings. Young said he put Bruner down last time because he didn't deserve to be contract holder and per DWA management, this match was now a triple threat.
(4) Open Challenge: DJ Bruner defeated CB4Three & Hakeem Young to retain the Cash In Contract in 10:06. CB4Three and Young used chairs to sideline Bruner. After the last match, more chairs was the last thing I wanted to see. CB4Three's power offense made an impression. His cannonball looked devastating. Bruner reentered with a corkscrew dive off the top. Chayn Male came to ringside to thwart Bruner by interfering. CB4Three gave Young a DVD into the buckles. But Bruner recovered and hit a senton atomico to pin CB4Three.
(5) Eddie Hindrixx defeated Joe Black in 12:56. Play time was over. With Black came the gravitas. You could feel the energy in the building change. Black ate Hindrixx up with chops. Slapfest, spear by Joe, Hendrixx with a clothesline. Both men collapsed to a round of applause. Black backstabber got a one count only. Whoa. Hindrixx reeled off an exploder suplex, a Saito suplex and pinned Black clean with tour of the planet. Black took Hindrixx to a place he had not been. Hindrixx rose to the occasion. As I recently wrote of Sal Rinauro, Joe Black is a consummate professional.
Black showed respect. Hindrixx responded in kind, then stumbled out the garage door and went down to his knees on the sidewalk outside.
Pierce gave an attractive young woman an looong kiss as he made his way to the ring. The same woman was helping to take the ring down after the show. So there's that.
Pierce said he was hoping for AR Fox to answer his open challenge because Fox made off with his other belt (the WWA4 title). He got Malcolm Marx instead. Pierce ridiculed Marx's gear, calling him a stringbean, slightly taller Temu ass Grayson.
(6) Open Challenge: Grayson Pierce defeated Malcolm Marx to retain the DWA Championship in 3:38. Pierce treated Marx with the utmost rudeness and pinned him with the Skullpiercer.
Postmatch, Pierce said instead of AR Fox, he got AR skunk and stomped the shit out of Marx while the A4 guys in the balcony chanted "shut the f*** up".
A tall masked man slid into the ring. He spit mist at Pierce and laid him out with a move that looked all too familiar. Off came the mask revealing Neji Ichiban as the crowd chanted his name. Ichiban said passion always prevails. He kept on coming with a broken jaw. He wanted one more match with Pierce.
Pierce said he'd beaten Ichiban every time but would give him one more shot. He wanted Ichiban out of DWA and out of Georgia.
This was really well done. They made the story accessible without needing to any foreknowledge.
(7) Top Team (Jay Lucas & Terrry Yaki) defeated Nawfside Heroes (Jose Manuel & Shoota Gabe with Chayn Male) in 14:24. The garage door had been reopened and a throng of twentysomethings people were watching from the street. Chayn Male invited them inside and these people brought were totally into it, popping for every spot.
Nawfside got heat on Lucas, who hit a double blockbuster to make the tag. Yaki ran wild and it was one killer move after another by everybody down the stretch. Yaki had Manuel pinned but Chayn Male pulled the ref out of the ring. Nawfside gave Top Team double low blows and brought chairs into the ring. The music of Golden Class (Byron Young & Dallas Kage) hit to divert Nawfside's attention. Top Team nailed Nawside wth flip dives in stereo Yaki pinned Manuel after an assisted J Driller.
They tore the house down. Everyone was on point. Crowd on fire. Top Team didn't rush were hitting their stuff spot on. These teams have wrestled each other countless times. One of the guys in the match said this was one of their best.
(8) Effy defeated Bryce Cannon to retain the GCW World Championship in 9:37. Prima facie evidence that you don't need to go 15 minutes or destroy your body to have a great, entertaining main event. Everything was done with a purpose and well executed. They changed speeds and brought the crowd and down at will. Nice counter wrestling, smooth but not too smooth.
Effy is in the best shape of his career. Cannon's arrogance and Effy's "Yellow Brick Road" entrance were over with the talent watching from above. It's too bad the fans that came in from the street for the tag match didn't stick around to liven up the crowd.
At the bell, Cannon tried to blast Effy with the paddle and almost pinned when it backfired. Crowd wanted Effy to "touch the tip". So yeah he pulled Cannon's hair. Then Effy got on his knees in front of Cannon licking his lips. He bit the tip. The hair I mean. Effy took over with mildly obscene offense. They brought referee Rivera into the act. Cannon went for a belt shot. Effy ducked and Cannon had to put on the brakes to avoid clocking Rivera. Cannon kicked out of the Sack Rider. After Effy kicked out of the Keg Stand at 2.9, Cannon invaded Rivera's personal space. Rivera shoved Cannon. He fell backwards over Effy who had stationed himself on his hands and knees behind Cannon and Effy rolled Cannon up.
Postmatch, Cannon continued to berate Rivera until Effy domed him with the paddle (payback for what Cannon did to him at Brawl at the Hall).
Cannon laid spread-eagled in the ring like he was out cold for the longest time. Videographer Impak Palmer used an extension pole to get a shot directly over him while ring announcer Tim Blanchard closed the show.
NOTES: Effy did a seminar on the afternoon of the show...Jimmy Yang, Salem Alexander, Jimmy Daryn and Spectre among those in the house...Don Miguel and AlexanderTells were on commentary. Tyler rotated in on color. Maybe a couple of others as well...The referees were Anthony Rivera and John Ellington...Tim Blanchard was the ring announcer...ACTION Wrestling supplied the ring.
