From Jeremy "The Impact" York:
After a brief summer hiatus, the super lucha-stars of Mucha Lucha ATL were back for a smoking hot show! With many stars from AAA, plus much more from all around, each match had the sold-out crowd roaring!
Match 1: King Garuda V. Terry Yaki V. Zicky Dice V. Mr. Sexy V. Bobby Flaco V. Jose Manuel V. Shoota Gabe—In true MLA fashion, out of the gate we get a super-loaded multi-man extravaganza! After a brief moment where all other competitors in the match flexed and sized up their opponents, it was Zicky Dice who cleared the ring of everybody with massive power attacks of double clotheslines and slams! Mr. Sexy is the first back in brandishing his trademark lollipop. After he and Zicky go through a power struggle for it, it’s Dice who wins the battle and instead pulls a whole mess of handkerchiefs from his mouth circus style to the delight of the fans! Nawfside Heroes (Jose and Gabe) make their way into the ring for some double drop kicks for Zicky and Mr. Sexy. They continue to work together like the top team they are to control the action and keep themselves on top. Garuda and Terry Yaki in now to combat the Heroes efforts and they clear the ring. Tope’ Suicida by Garuda, then Yaki with a moonsault from the apron to the floor taking out all parties. Bobby Flaco leaps onto Dice and Sexy to drop them to the floor again. Then he mounts his trusty steed (a small motorbike) to deliver the road rash-esque kicks while he rides around ringside! As grapplers filter back inside the ring, Bobby executes a double foot stomp from the top for a 2 count. Zicky’s power display that followed the near fall was impressive. The “outlandish one” slammed and flung everyone all over the area. Masked Superstar followed with a jumping cutter from the second rope in the corner for a 2 ½ count on Dice. Pro Wrestling’s Pitbulls (Nawfside) decided together they could take out their foes. While Shoot Gabe held Yaki prone facing the canvas, Jose Manuel crashed down on Yaki for a double smash. As they get to their feet however, they each receive a courtesy of Garuda and Bobby Flaco. After all the chaos, Yaki quickly shoots Flaco into the corner, follows with a kick to the back of the head then leaps over the rope to the apron. The next leap was bigger though as he grabbed Flaco for a Yaki Destroyer from the apron and gets the 1-2-3!
Winner: Terry Yaki
Match 2: Enigma V. Rex—How do you follow a multi-man melee? With a lucha technical showcase! Both competitors trade rolling arm drags and takedowns early. Rex throws Enigma into the corner then unleashes multiple running splashes to try to break down his foe. Enigma regains control however with quick dragon suplexes on Rex for a 2 count. Enigma drops Rex with a DDT, Rex responds with a powerbomb of his own. It’s Enigma in the end though after a bone-crushing angel wings slam for the victory!
Winner: Enigma
Match 3: La Sangre Controversial (Romeo Quevedo, Salazar De La Muerte, Labrava Mayhem: w/ Jorge Olivo) vs Cosmos, Taxi Man, Siomara—Taxi Man and Salazar start for their teams by trading textbook headlocks and takeovers. Taxi Man supleves Salazar to the outside where Cosmos flies from the top rope onto all competitors with a cross body! Quevedo in now with Cosmos who uses his quickness to stay just ahead of the (a lot) bigger Quevedo yet it’s Quevedo who stays right with the smaller luchadore. As the guys action spills to the outside, it’s the ladies turn. Labrava and Siomara square off with a brawl! Eventually they take their fight to the outside. Both Salazar and Romeo execute running tope’s to the prone Cosmos and Taxi Man on the floor. Cosmos up first for a moonsault from the top rope to the floor! The women take a turn at leaping onto the guys on the outside leveling the match at an equal standoff. Quevedo and Cosmos return to the ring as Quevedo drops Cosmos face first on the turnbuckle with a snake eyes slam. Salazar tags in and get a 2 count. Senton from De La Muerte and Romeo tags in to get a 2 count. Labrava rushes in to help out her stablemates, but Siomara runs to cut her off. Then they pick up their previous brawl right where it left off! Jorge Olivo pulls Taxi Man down, while Cosmos counters a superplex into a hurricanrana! Cosmos tags Taxi who slams Salazar, then adds in some shoulder tackles and a big back suplex for good measure. The evil duo team up for a massive double power smash for a 2 count. Cosmos catches Quevedo with a swinging DDT for a close fall. As action flowed to the outside again it’s Siomara with the body lock drop on Labrava for the win! After the match, La Sangre Controversial offer to shake the hands of their victorious competitors. As the good guys and gal lock hands with their opponents, La Sangre attack! Adding insult to injury they snatch the masks of all three as they strut up the aisle to the back. The fans were trying to persuade them to give back the masks, but instead Quevedo takes another mask, this time off a fan and he waltzes to through the curtain.
Winners: Cosmos, Taxi Man & Siomara
Match 4: James Tapia, Mini Abismo Negro V. Samuel Olmo, D3 Roma—Abismo and D3 begin the contest. Roma works Negro’s arm, while Negro counters by working on the leg briefly of Roma. Roma with a hurricanrana as he tags in Olmo. Samuel with some flashy arm drags and quick strikes on Tapia. Abismo stops Olmo then suplexes him on the outside. Tapia and Negro double team Roma in the corner then perform a thunderous double slam on him from the top rope. Angel wings slam from Abismo on Olmo who battles back with an over-castle to even the match. Hot tag to D3 who runs in for a pair of slingblades and a jumping neck breaker, then a swinging DDT for a 2 count. Tapia with the reverse DDT to thwart the momentum as Negro re-enters the ring. All wrestlers make it to the outside then Roma moonsaults onto them all from the top rope! Olmo lines up a twisting flip attack to the outside as well! Roma and Olmo pull off tandem frog splashes. Samuel utilizes a Mexican Destroyer, but it’s Tapia with brass knuckles! He gets a 2 ¾ count before the kickout. Olmo uses a jumping cutter from the 2nd rope of the corner as it lines up Roma for a headstand into a splash in the corner for the 1-2-3!
Winners: D3 Roma and Samuel Olmo
Match 5: La Annexion (Angel Fashion, Riviero Rivas, Mike Mendoza: w/ Ricardo Ordaz) V. La Hiedra, Lady Maravilla & Nikki Blackheart—La Annexion with the jump on their foes, smashing them down and clearing all but Hiedra from the ring. The use triple team tandem attacks to control the first of the contest. We see a big tag to Blackheart early and she clotheslines all the power faction to the canvas! She adds in some incredible power slams for good measure and her partners join her to level the playing field. Maravilla’s chops lead to her and Hiedra slamming Angel with a double spinebuster. They forearm smash Rivas in the corner, then hit him with a double suplex. Maravilla gets spinning half-nelson slammed by Fashion, while his teammate Rivas uses a rolling cutter on Hiedra. As Blackheart finds her way back into the match she crushes Mendoza with a rolling fallaway slam for the win! After the match as the brawl got a little out of hand, Referee Ritchie rushes to the ring with a chair and crushes Ricardo in the head with it to award the manager a crimson mask for his efforts!
Winners: La Hiedra, Lady Maravilla & Nikki Blackheart
Match 6: Main Event: Yabo The Clown, Sam Adonis & Mechawolf V. La Parka, Pagano & Mr Iguana—La Parka and Mechawolf begin by squaring off. Pagano says he wants a piece of long-time rival Wolf and locks in a grinding headlock. Mecha wiggles free only to hit Pagano with a step-up enziguri. Pagano battles back with a codebreaker from the 2nd rope. La Parka back in and Sam Adonis enters to greet him. Parka with a hurricanrana then a swinging head scissors before celebrating with his trademark dance moves. Iguana steps in to a roar from the crowd and Yabo steps in to rain on his parade. Mr Clown has some snacks for Mr Iguana and his lizard friend. While the lizards are chowing down, Yabo stomps them both to louds jeers from the crowd. Then Yabo uses his small friend his rubber chicken to beat down Mr Iguana once more while the remaining four fight outside the ring. Mechawolf dives on Pagano. Mechawolf dives on Pagano while Iguana is hanging by his leg in the corner for Yabo to throw pool balls at him. They all splash and attack Iguana. La Parka gets double suplexed for trying to interject, then frog splashed by Wolf. The bad guys were in full control for a small time only to get a few near falls, but no victory yet. It’s La Parka and Mr Iguana mounting a comeback with Pagano finding a cutter to help them out more. The good guys target Adonis and send him flying in frustration. Wolf spits mist to the face of Iguana who spills to the outside struggling to see. Once the lizard king does find his way back to the middle of the ring, Yabo brandishes a Jack In The Box! As he turns the crank an evil clown pops from the top to scare both lizards (and many small children at ringside)! Adonis levels Pagano. La Parka with a flying hurricanrana from the top on Adonis and Pagano (now to his feet) with the rolling diving plancha to the outside! La Parka with a picture-perfect moonsault to the floor leaving Iguana and Yabo alone in the ring. Yabo has a balloon that he tries to pop in the face of the lizard only to have it pop in his own face! Mr Iguana with the school boy roll up for the 1-2-3!Winners: Mr Iguana, La Parka & Pagano

Takeaways:
-After taking a brief hiatus over the summer, Ricardo put together an even BIGGER banger of a show than usual. His blend of AAA (Mexico) talent mixed in with other worldly superstars create off the charts match ups and moments every show.
-This event was legit Sold Out. VIP was sold out a week out. People got turned away at the door. Place was rocking.
-“Melee Matches” (as I call them) are mostly spot fests with no flow. The opening match was far from that. From Zicky’s antics and power, the Nawfside’s incredible double team repertoire, Bobby with his moto-bike, Masked Superstar’s flips, Mr Sexy’s antics to counter Zicky’s, and Terry Yaki’s ability to straight up light the place on fire…whole match was well done.
-Taxi Man is powerful. Sprinkle in some lucha ability and he is more than a novelty act.
-Cosmos is always top notch and his speed is hard to match. Quevedo was just a hair behind him the whole match and Salazar just a hair behind his partner. For guys of their size it was amazing to watch. Add in the always dangerous cerebral offense of Labrava matched up with the maneuverability of Siomara and the mixed tag match almost stole the show.
- Almost stole the show because the crowd favorite all night was the new WWE/AAA sensation, Mr Iguana. He is definitely worth the hype. So is Mechawolf, La Parka, Pagano, Adonis and Yabo. All should be regularly on a national or global television or streaming device.
-Roma should be on tv as well. Olmo, Abismo and Tapia are also great hands in the ring.
-Ricardo was legit busted wide open by the chair from Richie. EMTs actually came to escort him to the back just after the hit.
-La Annexion are so good they faced a trio of strong women and looked great in defeat. Plus, La Hiedra, Nikki Blackheart and Lady Maravilla are good enough to beat about anybody.
- If you have never checked out a Mucha Lucha ATL show, you really should try to catch the next one. After that one, the cast of superstars could look a little different. Plus, it’s a must see show anytime it’s running.
