From Larry Goodman:
This was a deathmatch extravaganza the likes which Blood and Honey has never put on before -- a seven match, three hour show and a world championship as the main event.
Blood and Honey hosted the the first ever NHB American World Deathmatch Championship match ever to take place in the state of Georgia. The match was a feather in the cap of promoter and top star Nathan Mowery.
As a deathmatch show, it would have been grossly disappointing to me if things had not gone off the rails at times. I was not disappointed.
The show was attended by 150 "ladies, gentlemen and everything in between" at Monk's Meadery. I watched with Paul Santa from above the ring on the hill where a parking lot sits. Coincidentally, the first apartment I ever rented in Atlanta is less than a block away.
Mowery welcomed the crowd and laid out the ground rules. No hate speech, no touching the wrestlers which would not end well for you. Pretty much anything else goes as we would soon see.
Terry Yaki's extremely annoying hype guy, Karson Rodgers interrupted to say the people came to see Yaki. Yaki got in Mowery's face. The shows had not been great because he had not been there and he was pissed about Mowery booking his girlfriend Jazzy Yang in a deathmatch at the last show. Yaki should have been thanking Mowery but I'm editorializing. Mowery said Ok, let's have our match right now. Crowd was down for that.
(1) Terry Yaki defeated Nathan Mowery (with Bombshell & The Rev) in 20 minutes. Mowery is revered like deity. Yaki was being verbally abused. Yaki slapped Mowery across the face. They swung light tubes like swords. Nothing connected until a clash of tubes sent a broke half of tube flying into the merch tables 15 yards away. The wrestling they did, was better than the other matches. Mowery broke out a satellite headscissors into a Russian leg sweep. Mowery throttled Yaki with a push broom. Yaki busted a tube bundle over Mowery's head to draw the first blood of the night. Yaki used trash can lid shots to get the blood to flow. Mowery shotgun dropkicked Yaki through a light tube bundle. Mowery hit an X Plex and a Tiger Bomb. In an effort to be helpful, The Rev's wife Anni brought Mowery a hacksaw. Mowery sawed on Yaki's forehead. But it was the gusset plate that Mowery pounded into Yaki's head that really did the damage. Blood started gushing down Yaki's face. He was wearing the crimson mask in no time flat. Yaki went for a tope and crashed headfirst into the sheet of hard plastic Mowery used to block it. That had to suck. Yaki did a flip dive sending both men through a bridged barbed wire board. Yaki went for the Yaki Driver and got dropped on his head by Mowery's reversal.
Rodgers ran in and gave Mowery a low blow. Bombshell jumped into the fray with Destroyer on Yaki. Rogers unloaded a gigantic tube bundle on Bombshell (pictured above). Mowery dropped Rogers with a light tube bundle blast. Mowery got in position for a flaming table finish. A masked man blinded Mowery with the mist and Yaki put Mowery through the flaming table for the win.
Suffice to say, they set a very high bar for the rest of the show.
The masked man revealed himself to be Neji Ichiban. Yaki, Ichiban and Rodgers were beaming.
The Rev berated the "buggy whip armed motherfuckers" Said they had started something with Coven of the Goat they could not finish. Just ask those that had been left in a pool of blood, bile and piss before them. Rev has a way with words.
Rev said Remington Rohr was a no show and probably afraid to face Tank, who had disposed of five opponents (four but who's counting) like toilet paper at the last show. .
Kasey Owens introduced himself and said he was going to choke Tank the fuck out. Rev introduced Tank as one of two Tenneessee treasures, the other being Dolly Parton.
(2) Tank (with the Rev) defeated Kasey Owens in 8:15. Owens was more than suitable replacement for Rohr. He jumped the bell with a tube shot. Tank had blood dripping down his face before the match was officially underway. Tank took his trust sick and fork to Kasey's forehead to get the blood flowing. They headed up towards Highland Avenue. Owens got rolled down the driveway. Tank warned Owens not to bleed on a fan's chair. Tank took what was given and choked Owens with the table molding leftover from the previous match. Tank punted a light tube into Owens' privates. Owens wrapped himself in barbed wire and hit Tank with his Bullet finisher. In the end, Owens did try and fail to choke Tank out. Tank absorbed Owens' best shots and pinned him after a spinning backfist and a DDT.
Tank said he was a deathmatch legend and these young pussies weren't shit until they beat him.
Don Miguel took over the announcing duties He's been Mowery's ring announce since the beginning and he is tuned into the warped vibe of these shows.
While this was going, Matt Griffin came out with Young Boy Coop. Coop grabbed a young woman by the hair and dragged her through the curtain. Slightly disturbing. The woman later apppeared as New Young Boy Sam.
(3) "Vampire Baddie" Ravenna Vein defeated Bobbi Thunder (with Captain Flagit & Pope Black) in 10:20. Vein is the people's vampire. Thunder's shirt read "God hates fangers". She tried to fend Vein off with a cross. That was a non-starter. Thunder had more success with a barbed wire crutch. She said she was doing the Lord's work. Thunder said "He said let there be light before hitting Vein with a light tube. Vein was bleeding from her arm and forehead. The crowd chanted "Love thy neighbor". Thunder lit up a cigarette. Vein drew blood with a tube shot, speared Thunder and pinned her with the cigarette still in Thunder's mouth.
Postmatch, Vein took a drag off the cigarette and bit Thunder's neck which got the louder pop than anything they did in the match.
(4) Lil Sicko the Clown (with Sadistico) defeated "The Bismarck Butcher" Buddy Badcock in 13:12. Nathan Hamilton was the special ring announcer. During the intros, Hamilton said Sicko's father wrestled on the first death match show he ring announced for 15 years ago. Sicko hugged Hancock. Crowd chanted for a kiss and they got one. Big size difference here. Badcock is a big dude. Sicko is most definitely sick but he's also an athlete.
They wrestled some. Badcock blasted Sicko with a light tube drew blood by grinding the jagged edge of a broken light tube in to Sicko's head. They used that spot a lot on this show and it got old. Sicko headscissored Hancock into a tube star for a nice explosion, then headscissored Hancock off the apron and through a pane of glass bridged between the ring apron and the ringsteps on the concrete driveway outside the ring. Clearly somebody could have died if that spot had gone sour. Sicko pounded gusset plates into Badcock's head and back. Badcock was leaking blood from multiple wounds. His back was a mess. Sicko ducked a glass pane and it shattered on the ring post.
It took a long time to set up but the crown jewel was this: Sicko took an avalanche powerbomb through a bridged pane of glass. The sound and visual fury of the glass exploding was amazing. SICKO KICKED OUT. Badcock gave Sicko two brainbusters onto the shattered glass. Sadistico tossed a skateboard to Sicko while he was on top turnbuckle and Sicko stomped that skateboard onto Badcock's back. Sicko gave Badcock a 619 into a tube bundle with a stuffed pony head on top. Sicko hit Badcock with unidentified foreign object and pinned him. It was an
Postmatch, Sicko did a weird ritual with some dude wearing a goat head with flames shooting out of the horns. The flames were impressive. A little too impressive for the production people under the nearby canopy. They were motioning the guy to move away from the canopy. The guy was getting his rocks off shooting the flames and would not stop. Mowery finally had to tell him to call it quits.
Miguel wanted to know if the crowd was ready for some crazy white people shit...
(5) Matt Griffin (with Young Boy Coop & New Young Boy Sam) defeated Jay Blade in 10:58. Blade's looks screamed deathmatch guy. His wrestling was better than I expected. He dominated Griffin in the early going. Blade stapled dollar bills into Griffin's head and arms. Crowd was quieter. They must have been getting their second wind because they were into big time when the combatants hauled out the heavy artillery. Griffin smashed a light tube picture frame over Blade's head producing copious amounts of blood. Griffin called it art.
Blade took a flying leap off the top rope and hit Sam with a horrifying kick that appeared to put a dent in her face. After the match, Sam said she was OK but the kick made her ears ring. Blade nailed Griffin with a light tube bundle on a pole and light tube-gimmicked walker for the second "holy shit" chant of the match. Griffin walloped Blade with a firecracker bat, always a crowd favorite. For the finish, they did a superplex explosion onto a box-like structure of 20 light tubes.
(6) Spine Shattering Spectre defeated Lucio in 9:10. Lindsay Snow, a huge Blood & Honey fan favorite, limped to the ring. Snow said she could not wrestle due to an injury suffered earlier in the day but she had a replacement. Lucio is a WWA4 guy who promotes Insomnia Pro Wrestling in Lilburn.
The crowd immediately took to Lucio as the underdog. No love for Spectre who got a "Sphincter" chant and a "Culero" chant. Lucio was game but ill-prepared for the world he was entering into. They bled a little. Spectre strategically placed the vacuum in front of Lucio for a coast-to-coast dropkick. That got a "suck him off" chant..Spectre opened an umbrella and it rained tacks onto the mat. Crowd chanted "Mary Poppins". Spectre beat Lucio with a straight jacket piledriver into a tacks.

Spectre decided to mess around with Snow after the match and paid the price. Snow drilled metal spikes into his scalp. They made the best of a disappointing situation.
(7) Dr. Redacted defeated HardCore HillBilly (with Luke Hateful) to retain the NHB American Deathmatch Championship in 15 minutes. HCHB was the second most over babyface on the show after Mowery. Redacted was shoving fans that bowed up into their seats with serious force. This kid who creates sick Rube Goldberg contraptions had one of creations attached to the ring post in one of the corners. Dry ice fog was coming out of the top of it.
HCHB went through a barbed wire board unassisted. Hillbilly's head soon looked like it had been dipped in a bucket of red paint. Redacted got a "Malpractice" chant.
Suddenly I found the most drop dead gorgeous police officer I'd even seen standing next to me on the hill. The officer wanted to know what this was, said she did not want to shut it down but needed to talk with the person coordinating the event. I was more than happy to help this lovely woman find Mowery. They had a pleasant conversation. Evidently a noise complaint had been called in. He assured the officer one more big explosion and the show would be over and invited her to stick around to watch.
I missed a lot of this match due to the above including the spot with the Rube Goldberg contraption. There was concern about the amount of blood pouring out of the wound on HCHB's right arm. From what I did see, Redacted is a worthy champion to follow deathmatch legend John Wayne Murdoch, whose second title reign Redacted ended last month.
HCHB did a suicidal tope through a table. Redacted drilled Hillbilly through a glass pane with a shotgun dropkick. Might have been a shower door.
The giant explosion Mowery referenced to the cop involved a trash can rigged with some type of bomb but it never did go off. With that spot down the drain, they had to improvise. Redacted won with a hidden blade.
Redacted got on the mic and put HCHB over huge. The crowd ate it up. HCHB may may be a good but he's their goof. Redacted asked HCHB to stop bleeding out so they could shake hands. HCHB wrapped something around his hand to stop the blood.
Out of nowhere, deathmatch veteran Lane Bloodie (the former Insane Lane) attacked HCHB. Lane was furious because the match could have been his moment to become champion. Redacted made the save with a light tube shot on Lane. Redacted said if Lane wanted a title shot all he had to do was ask instead of getting kicked out of the show like a dick.
