Another easy fun Sunday at Brimstone Tavern brought to you by Dynamic Wretling Association, not quite he starpower of the last two Brimstone shows. The second half was gangbusters.
This was night two of a double shot weekend for DWA in the most unlikely of locales - North Fulton County.
Every match that needed time, got it, and the wrestling had the creativity, experimentation and intimacy that keeps me coming back.
There were four title matches out of eight bouts and we did get a title change. Eddie Hindrixx defeated Alex Kane for the King of the South title with loads of outside help from Fade Area Militia.
Keelin Cole retained the DWA World Championship in his first title defense over Dante Dark in match with a compelling story. Cole defends his RIPW Southeastern Openweight title this Sunday at Kagez in the Ben Hlll neighborhood of Atlanta.

(1) Father Marquis & Prime Works Off Work & JDR defeated Rodney Rocket & RAIV & Maverick Wolf in 12:05. One of these wrestlers was not like the others. Marquis is from Michigan, now based in Georgia, 4+ year of experience. His polish and presence were several cuts above the rest. Loads of trash talk. The good Father smashed his collection plate over Wolf's head and Prime Works pinned him. Less of this match would have suited me just fine.
(2) Jay Tyler (with Eddie HIndrixx) defeated Stevie Hendrix in 9:14. Dominic Stuckey was advertised but is currently limited to tag team duty due to injury. Hindrixx gave Hendrix grief about his name. Hendrix made a good showing. Tyler dominated, threw in a pair of drive bys and pinned Hendrix with Break The Bank.
(3) Alexandra Quinn defeated Ezebella Wilder in 10:20. Crowd was enamored with both women. Wilder spiced things up by accuing Quinn of grabbing her boob. Quinn pinned Wilder's hands to the mat with her knees. Referee Wayne Silver started a five count for a seemingly legal tactic. Quinn kicked out of Wilder's twisting splits leg drop off the top and planted her with a phantom driver for a near fall. They traded pinning predicaments. Quinn won with a doctor bomb.
Quinn hits hard. The match was a showcase for the exposivity of her power moves. Wilder has grit. She's beautiful. I fear for her health.
Fade Area Miitia had materailzed at ringside and Quinn left with them.
(4) Hakeem Young defeated Chaynmale in 5:44. Decidelly mixed reaction for Chayn Male, who said he was on his redemption tour with much redeeming to do. He labeled Hakeem a menace and challenged him to put his cash-in contract on the line.
Hakeem scoffed at Chaynmale's challenge Chaynmale had Hakeem on trouble and tried for Chaynreaction. Hakeem countered and destroyed Chaymale's bad back. Chaymale came close to pinning Hakeem with a swanton. Hakeem shoved the contract case at the ref to distract from a kick in the groin and speared Chaynmale for the three count.
(5) KJ Valentine defeated Justin McKenzie & Xavier Young & CB4Three to retain the Multiversal Championship in 7:48. No heels here. Young had added muscle to his frame.
Describing the action in this match in detail would be a fool's errand. It was every man for himself. Valentine and McKenzie were continually teaming up and double crossing each other to entertaining effect. All four were down after McKenzie's double sliced bread. CB broke out a round of his ferocious cannnonballs but Young made CB miss and speared him. McKenzie got KJ with a Ushigiroshi. Young planted McKenzie. CB planted Young and covered. Valentine came off the top with a double stomp on CB and stole the pin to retain.
This was a cleverly designed sprint with all four getting a chance to shine.
(6) Eddie Hindrixx (with Jay Tyler) defeated Alex Kane to win the DWA King of the South Championship in 7:47. They wrestled. All Kane early. He broke out a leapfrog for the first time in a long time. Hindrixx cut Kane off with a sky high uranage. Hindrixx was heeling. He grumbled about getting kicked in the mouth and made a filthy remark to a woman in the crowd. Quinn joined Hindrixx at ringside. Hindrixx's shoulder rammed into the post. Kane immediately zer Kane had an ankle lock cinched in when Tyler got on the apron and Hakeem ran in from the other side with a cash-in case shot to the head of Kane for an easy 1-2-3 for Hindrixx.
Best straight up wrestling of the night. Big surprise in a Kane match, right?
(7) Nawfside Heroes (Jose Manuel & Shoota Gabe with Chaynmale) defeated Wonderboyz (Aaron & Ethan Dallas) to retain the DWA Tag Team Championship in 12:40. Wonderboyz came out movin' and groovin' to "Let's Groove" and the people at Brimstone Tavern were all in. No shortage of crowd support for Nawfside either.
Ethan and Gabe wrestled. Ethan took his headband off so this was getting serious. Manuel's shoulder blocks had no effect on Aaron but his headscissors did. They were off an running with all kinds of thrills, spills and double teams. Wonderboys unleashed a superkick party with double superkicks on Gabe, Manuel and Chaynmale. Manuel saved Gabe from being pinned by Wonderboyz' Paisan Elbow. Wonderboyz tried for their finisher but Ethan screwed up and Gabe pinned Aaron.
Fun match between two teams operating like well oiled machines. Aaron wasn't happy with Ethan but no big problems...at least not yet.
(8) Keelin Cole defeated Dante Darko to retain the DWA World Championship in 14:37. A babyface match between good friends. They locked up with intensity and went face-to-face. Cole's message to Darko: Earn it. Darko got the advantage Told Cole he loved him like a brother but he would do what he had to do.
The match will be remembered for two insane spots. As Darko was standing on the apron, Cole charged full speed with a shoulder block. Darko moved and Cole's shoulder slammed into the pillar outside the ring (pictured in thumbnail) with a sick thud. Moments later, Cole connected with jumping knee from the floor to Darko on the apron. Darko gave Cole a Spanish Fly (pictured above) in a low boy ring. Ridiculous. Neither was getting up. Referee Chase called an audible when the count reached nine and threw the both of them back in the ring.
Darko hit Scarlet Overdrive. Cole kicked out but collapsed on the mat. Dark slapped him. Cole summoned a burst of energy. He reeled of a trio of superkicks (same as when beat Stevens for the title), a blockbuster, a death valley driver and a moonsault. He againtold Darko to earn it. Darko caught Cole with an inside cradle and an O'Connor roll but coud not secure the pinfall and Cole put him away with the Keelin Cutter.
Cole and Darko have come a remarkably long way from their rookie appearances for Southern States Pro (2022). How they conceived of that amazing sequence much less executed it is beyond me.
Cole and Darko displayed sportsmanship after the match. As Cole headed to dressing room, Hakeem hit the ring wth the cash-in contract and speared Darko. Hakeem gave Cole two choices: save his brother or keep his title. Hakeem left Darko laying with a jumping piledriver and was rewarded with a "What a Dick" chant.
Hakeem's bumping for for the camp kids at DSW was the exception that proves the rule. He thrives on hate and has not a cool heel bone in his body.
NOTES: DWA returns to action at Brimstone Tavern with a bonus show on August 30 their regular first Sunday show on September 6...Nawfside Heroes are the second two-time tag team champions in DWA history and the first two-time champions in Classic Ciy history...Nikki Heat was in the house.
