On Fire was a major show for Deep South with a lot at stake -- three stipulation matches, two key title matches and the culmination of long-running feuds. 

It succeeded on all fronts. The Chandelier Room at Monday Night Garage was packed to the gills with a crowd that was white hot for most of the afternoon. 

Najasism vs. Jacob Johnson: I Quit was one of DSW's best matches of the year. Former champion Johnson has been out of control. and at a whole 'nother level as a heel. Najasism retained the DSW Championship by the skin of his teeth and the end result was a beehive of activity surrounding the title.

Redacted (Jay Alpha Miller & Hakeem Young) became two-time DSW Tag Team Champions in an outstanding triple threat.

The show ran long compared to what the DSW fans are accustomed to (almost three hours). The Three Stages of Hell main event had issues. 

(1) Alex Kane defeated Skrilla The Great in a no DQ match (15:10). The crowd started getting on Skrilla as soon as he came through the curtain. Nice pop for Kane. The action quickly moved outside the ring where Skrilla threw somebody's drink in Kane's face and stuck his hand in the popcorn machine and helped himself. Back inside, Kane took Skrilla to suplex island. Skrilla choked Kane with his beads. A chair was brought into play and that was not good news for Kane. 

Skrilla stacked a whole bunch of chairs in the middle of the ring and gave Kane a cutter and two Skrilrides into the pile. Kane kicked out. The action transitioned to a battle on the ropes. Kane delivered an avalanche X Plex onto the chairs to win the match and earn a big, fat approval pop.

Finish looked great. Smart to limit the weapon use with an I Quit and Three Stages of Hell later in the show. The chair play did neither one of them any favors and had them both hurting after the match. Kane didn't let a little thing like that stop him from getting in the ring with Rey Fury at RIPW later in the evening.

Dickinson interviewed Big Strong Mims about the Three Stages of Hell. Mims said Tyson Maddux started this beef with the misconception Mims was not a real man. A real man doesn't moan and complain and make excuses the way Maddux had been doing. Mims used his big, strong brain to concoct a match in which there would be no excuses. The three stages would be a tables match, a lumberjack match and hell on wheels (in lieu of a stretcher). 

Mims' promo was spot on for its intended purpose. He smartened the crowd up as to why the Three Stages was happening and what the Stages would be. 

(2) Redacted (Hakeem Young & Jay Alpha Miller) defeated Champions The Wonderboyz (Aaron & Ethan Dallas) and Nawfside Heroes (Jose Manuel & Shoota Gabe with Chaynmale) to regain the DSW Tag Team Championship in 12:39. Redacted despised. Nawfside over. Wonderboyz most over. Match opened with the two babyface teams beating Dedacted's asses. Redacted isolated Ethan. He tagged Gabe, who outmaneuvered Redacted until he speared Manuel by mistake. Hakeem almost pinned Gabe with a Vader Bomb. AD cleaned house. Manuel's barrel roll dive sparked a wild dive sequence.

Wonderboyz hit their finisher but referee Paul Santa ruled AD was not the legal man. Nawfside nailed Hakeem with a double team. Miller saved Young by pulling Santa out of the ring. Young went for belt shot. Chaynmale grabbed the belt out of Hakeem's hands and belted Gabe by mistake. Ethan superkicked Chaynmale. Young double speared Manuel and Ethan. AD won a tug of war with Young for possession of the belt. Young ate the belt shot and fell on top of Gabe for the three count.

This was an inspired triple threat tag -- Constant action, it flowed and they pulled off one hell of a finishing sequence AND pissed the crowd off with the heels besting two babyface teams.

Alexandra Quinn defeated Brooklyn Barrett in 10:40 to become the number one contender for the DSW Women's Championship.  Quinn jumped right on Barrett, who almost landed on her head on a huracanrana off the turbuckles. Quinn gave Barrett a brutal clubbering. Barrett's backstabber briefly halted the abuse. Then came Quinn's Tower of London.

Barrett's valiant comeback came up short. Quinn took Barrett's head off with a roundhouse kick and pinned her with a sitout powerbomb.

Afterward, Quinn went berserk. She put the boots to Barrett. She laid out a security guy with another head kick. The other security people kept their distance.  Barrett had to be helped to the back.

DSW is going with the hot hand by putting Quinn in the number one contender slot. They didn't do much to get the babyface/heel dynamic before the bell. But Quinn was a demon once the bell rang. She was a physical force to be reckoned with for the much smaller Barrett and hazardous to the health of security.

(4) Najasism defeated Jacob Johnson in an I Quit match to retain the Deep South Championship in 20:47. Johnson had people in the audience legit fired up, not the tongue-in-cheek brewery show reaction. Said he never quit when he lost the title. Johnson had a bat in his corner. Naja had a chain and is Classic City Championship along with the DSW belt 

Johnson wasn't waiting for any stinking bell. Naja fought him off with a shotgun dropkick. Johnson tried to squash Naja's head like a grape. Naja stretched Johnson with an Octopus hold. On the outside, Naja took a tool box to the noggin. Johnson slammed Naja on a front row table (metal) filled with concessions. The sound scared one kid half to death. Johnson was raging around ringside, tearing up signs. Back inside, Naja hit a corkscrew spear. Johnson gave Naja a low blow. The crowd erupted with a "Johnson sucks" chant. Johnson fired Naja into a wedged chair. Naja gave Johnson a sick chair shot to the head and springboard tornillo splash on a chair. Johnson said his grandmother hit harder. Johnson delivered two World's Strongest Slams. Naja said no. A third and fourth WSS. Naja still said no.

Naja used the chain on Johnson's knee and  applied the Sharpest Shooter. Johnson refused to quit. Johnson jacked Naja's jaw with the chain. That got a "Hoochie Daddy" chant going. 

Naja was a sadist with the chain but Johnson would not quit. Naja wrapped the chain around Johnson's throat and applied maximum torque until Johnson gasped the two words.

Deon Summerz tried to cash in his Golden Contract. Johnson was not about to let that happen. He bashed Summerz in the head with the ring bell. Summerz got color.  Johnson tied Naja's feet around the ringpost and destroyed Summerz with a pair of World's Strongest Slams onto a chair. Said if he couldn't get the title nobody else could.

This was intense. Johnson has a raw, reckless edge. He got the kind of pure hate I have not witnessed at a DSW brewery show. There's nothing cool about him. He lost an I Quit match and left with heat. I loved what they did with title contender deal: Johnson isn't going anywhere, Towers staked his claim, Summerz is the wild card, Mims on the babyface side, but I'm jumping ahead...

Next up, was a lovely, heart-warming segment with a girl scout troop. Out came Saint Julious with his collection plate to kick the "sinners" out of the ring so he could deliver his sermon. CT Entertainment was our savior.

(5) CT Entertainment vs. Saint Julious was ruled a no contest at 9:25 due to interference by Austin Towers.  

Perfect as a palate cleanser between I Quit and 3 Stages of Hell. Made me happy to see Julious and CTE in a competitive singles match. They were in synch. 

The crowd popped huge for CT's Spanish Fly and both men were down...Towers spoiled a perfectly good wrestling match with a choke slam from the heavens for CT.

Towers said he was tired of being patient and nice.  WHAT?  He had been undefeated for three years and he was going to get his title match. 

Towers got the most heel heat of anybody except Johnson.

(6) Big Strong Mims defeated Tyson Maddux in the Three Stages of Hell match in 25:52. A table was propped in the corner without delay. They teased somebody going through and did everything that had nothing to do with tables for minutes on end. Mims moved and Maddux went flying through the propped up table. Santa ruled that did not count because Maddux went through the table on his own. Maddux spit his drink into Mims' face and powerbombed him through table #2 at to win the first stage at 11:42.

The second stage devolved into mass brawling between the lumberjacks. Lumberjacks were flying everywhere. Keelin Cole did a cameo dive. Maddux had Mims dead to rights. CTE took the bullet and got decapitated. Maddux was in the process of killing CTE when Mims rolled him up to win the second stage at 18:34.

Maddux finally got what was coming to him. CTE blasted him with a snow shovel. Mims set Maddux on one of the metal tables in front of the front row filled with drinks and pizza. Mims gave Maddux two splashes from apron. Mims put Maddux in the wheelchair with the chain wrapped around him and wheeled him through the curtain.

I don't know what they were thinking in the first fall. Way too much time spent on suff that had NOTHING TO DO WITH TABLES and WINNING. The lumberjack chaos was wildly entertaining and got the crowd back. Maddux had gotten over on Mims so much in this feud, the third fall had to be big. Mims' splashes onto the metal table did it for me. No give whatsoever.
